Hovah, There are a few threads on the Organic Hydro forum (including THIS thread) relating to "OBBT" with some very detailed step-by- step
instructions as well as the "why." I always like to know why.

I wish that thread weren't so long. If you come in at the end and ask questions you are generally told to read the whole thread. I've been interested in CMH for a while.

I'm almost halfway through it, so feel free to shoot me a PM with any questions and I'll see if I can answer em!

Just be ready for some pm's from me about these OBBT's when I finally get my grow started! :)

you don't have enough posts to PM

Awww shoot. Well, I would try sending Simba (the guy who started the CMH thread) a PM, or if you just put your Q's at the end of that thread I'll try and answer 'em before anybody jumps on you for not reading a 200 page thread.

How many posts do you need to pm?

Let's see some pics guys! I'm getting so excited to start my grow, I'll find out in the next week or two whether or not I'm going to be legal. Yay MMJ!!

How does everybody split their tubing from the pump to their buckets? I'm planning on getting a pump for a 150 gallon tank and running 4-6 buckets at a time.

My pump has a 6-port manifold. From Sunleaves. 950 GPH through 6 airstones in 3 pails.

They're all loud as hell. I modified a Rubbermaid tote to hold the pump.

I would definitely love to see some pics of that in your thread if you have some.

I'm not too worried about noise in the room/house, I just don't want it to be heard from outside at all.

I haven't been posting 'cause I been trimming.

First off, I hope to get a quick answer from the Lady, I just vaccumed off all the Perlite and am considering just plugging new plantlets into the active buckets.

I have some babies ready to go, I kinda remember someone saying that you can reuse the system as is.

Here's how the top of the grow medium looks

Wait, let's use the macro

I have concerns about roots growing next to decomposing roots.

OCTOBER HARVEST

I belive that this run is about double the first grow. I made various improvments, but without a doubt the OBBT buckets were the primary reason. Thank you LadyLargely, and DrunkenMessiah!

White Russian

Super Silver Haze

Dabney Blueberry

Buddage

With Rh in the teens, these didn't hang long. Paper bags, then into jars for curing. It's times like this that's hard to not share with your friends, I share my meds. but I can't share these growing experiences except anonymously here.

Grow on....

Respect,

RVW, my brother. I can so appreciate your anonymous sharing. It's my "other life" too.

I'm so glad you're here and had the balls to jump in on this as early as you did. You've been gracious taking the time with pics.

I'd love to get a yield report. So how long from seed / clone to harvest?

The lawn lime is fine, like I said, I like it. The stuff I get is called Fast Acting Lime I add two tablespoons of it per 5 gallons of medium.

Your little coco brick looks great, but you will definitely want to use the boiling water trick on it.

Yes, the fact that it comes to life is the whole point of OBBT. This 'live' medium is what the Bio Box technique is based off of. Zillions of little life-forms all live in the soil and do your bidding. This is why they are 'maintenance-free'. See, there is no such thing as true maintenance-free soil chemistry. The best we can do is set it up so that you are not the one doing the maintenance! Just get a couple hundred million little organisms to do it for you; they are better at it and they never get bored. That is the mechanism at the heart of the OBBT, it is what drives this lovely gardening method.

As for delayed usage you should be OK. The tubs will have plenty to eat and once you incubate them they will stay alive for a long time. Just feed them with a little molasses-infused bubbled tap water whenever they get a bit dry.

Good luck! :joint:

:yoinks: def got a mold situation on my hands man, i dont know why but im thinking i got mold in my shit really dont think its suspose to look like this man, the shit is all over the gloves i left in there and some on the medium

should i throw ALL of it away and start over or just the shit on top

PLEASE HURRY AND HELP, cause i want the shit out TONIGHT!!!

Respect,

I'm pretty sure I remembered reading that you leave the root system to be broken down by the fungi and micro organisms, and then re-plant in a few days.
