The same thing can be said about Tiny Tim - Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Another genius that was way ahead of his time......

OMG...Tiny Tim was definitely ahead of his time if singing about sneaking through young budding flower fields is a parable for Cho-mo'ing children.

ICmag's version of history 101 and botanical wonderment on this fine Memorial Day~

Maybe Ill coin the term BDLS...
Bullshit Dreams and Living Soil?.....j/k

...there are a lot of reasonable and ergonomic aspects of bio-dynamic gardening....and many very questionable aspects of it as well.....there is no argument there.

So anyway....I'm going into flower tomorrow in my indoor chamber garden of ROLS soil in a No-till cycle. I will top dress w/a mixture of screened compost.neem seed meal, kelp meal, and swirled sativa driven thoughts of hippies fresh from this weekend's harvest.

Come on man...my granny taught me to grow food in the 70's..long before any of this crazy shit hit that generation....she had no concept of biodynamics or no-till....and did just fine producing healthy vegetables from her garden with the methods she was taught as a child in the 20's... anyone can grow food if you simply plant the seed in soil that will support plant life and water with H2O....everything else becomes silly at that point.

Cannabis behaves much the same way as other crops humans grow for food. I've planted cannabis in native soils all along the west coast....very few issues at all if you know to plant in healthy soil.

You can train a monkey to grow beans in soil ...and proly get it to utilize compost with the right reward.....you can train a monkey to orbit the earth too...........

Still no love from the peanut gallery?

I guess Ill call it quits, cant teach an old dog new tricks.

You still dont really get what BD is all about...

Its not just about growing food, its about healing the Earth, your connection to the Earth and re-tuning the Earth/Soil/Plants to the cosmic frequency us humans have destroyed with pollution, concrete, radio/nuclear signals and chemicals. The idea you presented is EXACTLY in line with BD, it is about recreating original conditions, energy flows and plant/mineral/spiritual interaction. Thus plants in the virgin rainforest ALREADY live in a Bio-Dynamic ecosystem. Get it?

So YES, you can grow anything from a seed with water, but BD is something different. I guess its too 'out there' for you to understand.

Lame dude...tin foil hat stuff almost...

IMO..
..most peeps in this thread are not on the biodynamic trip...so rolling in here and pushing the principle, however closely related to the ROLS/No-till methods presented here... well it's deliberately going against the grain...and really doesn't make much sense with these folks that are on this particular path here...especially the hocus pocus aspect...that's all. Regardless of your belief system, the plant and soil behave the same way they have for thousands of years despite your spiritual belief system.

Great pix...more people should grow their own food. It should be inherent at this point in our evolution.

Fair enough.

You have inspired me to start a new thread.

Biodynamic Living Soil

Coming soon...

Wha-la..shazam..and poof...and you have manifested destiny....I'm sure it will be quite an interesting thread for everyone. It may be the first Biodynamic thread here....

I think your pictures were beautiful RM. I have a passion for growing my food as well as growing my herb and I feel like the more we can provide for ourselves the better off everything is.

In the end it is living soil and that is the important fact to me.

Biodynamics is just another philosophy and approach to the same thing we all love.

not sure why anyone would hate on you. sure some of it is far out there but is it really that much further out there than many things we encounter on daily basis.

If someone wants to judge me for hanging opal and agate in my garden then that is on them really.

As long as you are adding to the biodiversity of the soil and not being preachy about it you are on the right path in my eyes.

Here is to good Weather

Biodymanics has to be extreme or no one would be talking about it. Just the simple fact that it points out mysteries which can be explained through different grandiose theories, none of which are able to be proven or dis-proven, is what gives it an almost religious dimension. Same thing most religions use to sell their own brand of enlightenment; most people have an underlying desire for self actualization that trumps all other needs, and biodynamics fills that need through it's neo paganist teachings.

I don't take the biodynamic thing word for word... That being said, I like to read about it, and I feel they are closer to what is "right" than those on the mono-crop, Round-up, GMO trip. I don't think anyone has figured out the "best" way to grow plants, but you can learn something from anyone who has success doing it.

Found this at my local grocery store in there organic section. I bought it to add to my drinks i make, but what about adding it to my water for the plants?

It says powder on it but i would call it more of a meal then powder. I might run it through the processor to make it more of a powder form for the plants.
