The HzA and the HzC were at best half brothers, so how is crossing a 5-HzA with a HzC a backcross when the HzC plant pollinating the 5HzA is not one of the parent plants of the 5HzA seed.

How is open pollination a better way, Luther Burbank didn't use it.

To find good plants to clone you need to have access to good seed stock that will produce good plants and most lines today are poly hybrids these days and people need to run numbers of plants to find a good plant. Selective breeding improves the odds of good or better plants being found and by achieving that fewer numbers of seed are needed to find a plant one can clone.

Bro science is reading people's posts on a canna forum and thinking it's science real science is putting the work in and finding what works, and you know it works by the results you see.

Like I said, males play an important role and to be honest I don't think I want to share more than I have already with people that think less of me.

The same people that are pro open pollination and anti line or inbreeding are also pro selfing I can never get my head around that the most extreme form of inbreeding is perfectly fine but selecting a male and female and inbreeding is not that there is the clear definition of bro science.
Nevil worked it out at about 30-35% compatibility between hazeA and hazeC....which probably means on yhe hazeC side one of the parents on one side (which were probably somd type of hybrid on the one parents side and a two way hybrid the other side) half it was something diffrent by quite abit.....both a and c were ( no clones back then) probably made up of a brother or sister hybrid on one side....and on the other side a diffrent hybrid brother or sister....with c having the one diffrent plant added on top of that parent befor joining it to the other parent.....wich should make it about that 30-35% compatable.....meaning wen a and c were put together....that 30-35% of the seed would spit out a new uniquie haze.....its why c is the only haze plant that spits out that one uniquiue type thats not found in any of hazeA make up or any haze sam put out....yet hazeC was able to stamp haze..perhaps harder on anything it was put too...and able to take the one doubling up better than hazeA would.....via this method its also a easy way to know which is hazeA and wich is hazeC...hazeA declines wen doubled up and even more wen more inbreeding is done..

Nevil also said that they may of not have been half brothers at all, too.

The best female Haze plant he ever grew was the first female he lost because of people not taking clones when Nevil thought they had. The Haze A male was that type of the haze side, and he has given a good description of how that female grew and the type of flower she produced.

There are basically two Haze types in Nevil's work, one is to the HzA side, the other is to the HzC side if you dig into Nevil's Haze you see this clear as day, well the 97 NH you do.

You also see it in the Mango Haze test seed and even tho the HzA was mixed with SK it pops up as much as HzC dose.

Nevil kept talking about cat piss and how inbreeding Haze caused that, well I proved it to Nevil that was not the case.

I think the cat piss comes from the HzC side, and you don't come across that in the HzA side, well I haven't yet.

A single inbreeding exponentially increased the Cat Piss types.

Yet I could self a plant and get zero Cat piss.

Three different 97 NH are out? I knew about one cut, but not it were three.
In the genetics. N21 and NH36 and Happy's Thai on one side and Red's Nevil's Haze selection on the JB side was from the 97. The B130 has DJ's Juicy fruit and purple Thai (I think).

A continual out and back sequence between NH s and Thai's. The results will probably be all over the place. Hopefully in a good way.

Oh, I see. I read it in a way, that you are also running three 97 NHs cuts besides.
Makes sense, it would be odd to just mention something special like this just in a side comment.

Dwight Diotte's Outback #8 was one of his selections from what Nevil sent him. The NH21 and NH36 in there

Then to Silk S which is an 5haze and Nigerian mashup with record Ocimene. Burns like vaporized Frankincense.

Then crossed to Johnny Blaze . Reds NH selection was from the same '97 NH batch Nevil used. And crossed to B130 their '05 project.

Here are a few JB pics from here. It went over very very well, but seed became very hard to find after '10.

So 3 '97 in total with 3 Thais. That is seed of the ceoss in the flower first picture. I haven't tested them yet. Maybe by summer.

These are F2s I made a long time ago from the Mango Haze test seed I did a thread on way back at Cannabis World. I found 2 amazing super long flowering heavy Haze leaning plants I called Queeny and OTHER long story short I lost them about 7 to 8 years later long story.

Over the last few years I have run some of these seed here and there to try and re find Queeny and I think I did it along with possibly her sister.

I did find some great plants in the numbers I ran, but I could never exactly find a copy of her now I believe I have.

This is the plant I nick named Tripy-Ploid both are still early into flower, long way to go yet and can't get all plant in sot too big.

Those are some well hung calyx's, what kind of profile is it offering up at this stage? How many weeks in?

They are in week 12 of flower, I expect them to go at lest 19 or over like their MOM I didn't plan on growing them out fully as I was hunting for a specific plant that ticket a set of boxes that I knew as I grew the MOM and here sister for years.

I just had to go the cause regardless on how big they got as I had to see what the terp profile was and other traits I was looking for and by this stage the plants were 8 to 9 ft, so I re potted them into hempys as I had them in a 1 gal pot to try and minimise the plant size.

Now I have no choice but to go the distance and that's okay as I found what I was looking for along with a few extras including a really nice male.

Hahaha,
there are worse things than working for the one that you love.

Congratulations on your find!

I thought it would be a good Idea to show people why Shanti re worked the Mango Haze and why 8 out of the 10 testers culled them and called the line impractical.

The Mango Haze is 50% Haze and yet acted like pure Haze would.

These plants were placed into flower small and flowered under a 400 HPS in 1 Gal pots to try and keep them small, well that kinda went out the window I ended up re potting them into hempys at 8 to 9 ft now under a 600 HPS.

i find Catpiss types in the original colombians

The Colombians I have grown in the past or the ones friends grew never had the Cat Piss smell from memory, the only one I came across with a strong cat piss smell was some Jamaican.
