Whats Boel Oaxacan, real brotherhood stuff?
What makes you suspect that?I don't consider the purple Michoacan in this as I suspect its been hybridized at some point.
Just not used to seeing so much purple in a Mexican sativa. I could be wrong but it's just a hunch at this point. What makes you suspect that?
growing boel oaxacan now..we’ll see
I find aces honduras does this form me, takes the anxiety and troubles from the day away.I have finally begun my long-planned deep dive into the Mexican genetics I've been accumulating for the last few years. I decided to start with Original Delicatessen's Primera Dama, and popped 4 seeds for a mini pheno-hunt a few months ago. I recently harvested #1 after 10 weeks of flowering (at a 13/11 dark/light cycle, which I do for all my plants). Apologies for not having pictures, but I expect to start posting more as I work through the rest of these plants and get to know them better.
I impatiently smoked some flower before it was fully dried, and therefore long before it was cured, and I have to say that my hopes remain high. My goal with the Mexican strains I've acquired has always been to find an archetypical mellow Mexican "hippie weed" to add to my permanent stable. I know there has been speculation that Primera Dama was at least somewhat adulterated with BLD genetics at some point, but I wouldn't have known that from smoking this cut. It was exactly what I wanted it to be. Gradual come-up to a very, VERY chill, mellow high, including a body-buzz that is nothing like the classic "Indica" effect - rather a lightness in the body, as opposed to the heaviness we all know as couchlock. At first I wasn't sure if it was heady, but I realized upon reflection that it certainly was, it just wasn't spacey or daydreamy, but rather so incredibly clear and clean. Not super potent, but potency was low on my wishlist for this hunt. This is simple, happy weed. It just epitomizes what I think of as Kind. Here's hoping it retains these qualities after a full cure.
I look forward to trying the other 3 plants once we've got through flower, and will try to post my impressions here.
I feel you on sedation as far as South American sativas go. I haven’t had a pure happy energy weed yet from that region. I’m wondering if it’s more the terpene profiles of the vs the geological location of them.don’t think it was ever sold...everyone wanted indicas back then..[theystill do..hahaha
..came from the very last clone..maybe 20years ago.
yes..apparently..but it's about the plant...not the begats,,
I freely gave the first s1’s to Charlie
I am totally in love with this s2 selection from a totally different long long flower calyx pearls on long fronds;
it had Incredilbly l long thin leaves...smelled so Lemon Pledge..
I selfed that one..
thankfully the best cut I got off the small selfing is shower flower and not as tiny calyx on a stick style
thebcutvwas wonder duff but smelled too catpiss..and had some sedation..
]
most of the s1’s had too much sedation for me but were chunkier..
but even original haze has too much sedation for me
this s2 cut encapsulates[ for me] everything was great about great 70’s mex weed
I still need the guerrero which apparently was psychedelic..and is no more
km
mind me asking where to find these?
I've read Swami organic seed has got it in his stock but doesn't sell the "pure" form, he's got crosses made from it... he did get Cherry bomb from BOEL...
imho anything he has is good....I have stuff from him I should grow..but always seem to go for more obscureI have been pointed to Criptic labs in the past.
I just looked at the seedlings and the leaf shape look different than any of the other 17 varieties I just startedmind me asking where to find these? [boel oaxacan]
it has to be in some smg pheno’s..I would love to select one like I had in a town next to santa marta in1977I feel you on sedation as far as South American sativas go. I haven’t had a pure happy energy weed yet from that region
I just looked at the seedlings and the leaf shape look different than any of the other 17 varieties I just started
rounded ends to them..pretty skinny..I get the feeling these are pretty darn sativa
on the “oaxaca79" name...
when I first saw the words oaxaca 79n I thought they were talking about
vermontman oaxaca79 he said would never give out
I had seen photos and it looked very mex sativa
Vermontman seems like a focused cool guy
I think he said it came from a deceased friend..he has been talking about that one for years
I have never grown any of his stuff..but imho there shouldn’t be two oaxaca 79’s<-- joke]
and what I sent to Charlie in Europe while in Vibes I called oaxaca s1
ok that's it for ever on this..
I have no need to boost my ego and am in it for the love and work on great genetics...
I have dedicated a fair bit of my long life to seeking old varieties..many times only ever getting one seed
and I don’t hybridize first unless I have to
a selfing we will go..
I also have selfed rare canadian clones
like a local old choice 90’s NL that was called” Earl” or "The Big ‘Nordern' Light"
also
one sativa hash plant seed[Hashbean] that came from a chunk of peacekeeper brought back afg hash
and lately ..the Crinkle clone
I do it because its what I do
and no one will do it for me
all the best

first lady aka primera dama is one I regret not reproducing. A very feel good high and her vapors were soothing on the lungs. Anybody with stock to trade please reach out.I look forward to trying the other 3 plants once we've got through flower, and will try to post my impressions here.
I have hopes of selfing one or more of the plants, and would be happy to share seeds with the forum, but I don't know how long it will take me to get that going. It is a pity that they can't be found for sale anymore.first lady aka primera dama is one I regret not reproducing. A very feel good high and her vapors were soothing on the lungs. Well said Rgd, and much respect for doing it for the love of the art.
Like you said Oaxaca 79, I understand it as the one that has been around for a moment? Held or shared among a very tight closed circle.
The Oaxaca s1 sounds like the one used to make crosses that are out there cbg, ace and maybe even swami himself (speculation)… not many people holding Oaxaca talk about it too much.
I’ve been knocking on doors to see if I can grow it myself and document it; as there is very little journals to see the traits in depth. Part of the mystery behind it I guess.
My curiosity about the pure Oaxaca is about its flower structure and if it holds the towering calyxes and how many pump pearl phenos… as it seems that despite some phenos display BroadLeaf traits their flowers can be very lanky, elongated and pearl like with a very strong, psychedelic high to it…
welcome..Thanks for sharing your experience and l
yeh me too..looking forward to hearing more about the Oaxacas out there.
I respect your opinion, brother, but I guess it depends on what kind of effect you're looking for. Personally, the one Primera Dama plant I've tried so far feels nothing like what I've come to expect from a WLD, with none of the heaviness or cloudiness I associate with Afghans or other so-called indicas. But I may find that other plants do feel more WLD-like, and if that's the case, I will report it here. Right now I'm just very geeked to have something so light, mild, and feel-good. But maybe I'm just getting bored with the more potent herb I've been growing for so long.I have grown first lady/primera dama in the past, it's a shame that it is only available in female form because it is a variety to collect; however it did not drive me crazy, it seemed rather WLD to me and did not have a particularly special effect, (over the years there has been discussion about what it could really be) I crossed it with Oax Boel and it improved a bit...
Boel and Copalita are definitely better (I have never tried cherry bomb or Oaxaca s1/79)
