The mapacho balances out the female energy very nicely, completely different effect. Very focoused, masculine. It brings about a balanced, relaxed and centered experience, I'm sure the coca will add a new dimension to the blend.

Row 2 and 2.5 (garlic) are basically done. Hopefully the landscaping fabric and diligence will keep the grass and weeds at bay.

There's prob enough between the 2 logs to mulch up some more paths

Some rollie pollie bugs, centipedes and spider have also migrated with the chips. Hopefully they like their new home

In typical med-man method fashion

Every 2 weeks I'm germing more then we need but possibly will need

Staged germing, planting and back up extras are all the quality assurance you need to make sure between the gardener, garden and weather bountiful harvests come thru. This is where the nursery Indoor and the greenhouse come I to play.

The big 3: tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers plus beans and peas are ready to go

Left the white cloth on an extra week as nights were a little cold.

The hydroponic transplants are now wilding out

Going to have a nice flush of bell peppers for dinners soon too.

What's the best thing to do on a nice cloudy day?

I little bit after 2 weeks into a cycle it's time to move some stuff outside to harden them off, greenhouse x double layer of cloth.

Always make sure to mist them down good with ample water in the bottom of the Trays to wick up

I also figured with all the epic seeds Germinating and popping....might as well build another row (3) with 1 path 2 beds

You can see poppies don't like it too moist. I have half a kilo still so may just direct sow in some places. On the the other hand....the mupacho and most the other veggies took tap water only quite well for the last month.

So the new wave of beans gets a heavy mist and feed

With clouds, greenhouse, double cloth and heavy mist, humidity the loud skunk project is adapting with 0 stress

The greenhouse and garden Reek now just with 2 Trays of plants.

Birds in the rainforest are the worst. The literally watch me all day and then try to sabotage my work.

So protection is key

Bed priming

I touched on this a bit before.

I always put a Skim coat of compost, wood ash and some organic 3-2-4 initially.

I make sure to heavily mist the layers so all the powder liquefied and all the smaller pieces get stuck to and buried under the top layer.

I even hose down both sides of the poly cover.

Heat from the sun and the moisture can start further composting / digestion.

I don't have much Hebrew hay to go around.

But I got to prime the garlic, maybe poppy/tobacco beds. Ultimately doing away with all the landscaping poly is the end game.

Our rhubarb admittedly has been neglected a bit

She still delivered 2 to 3 more first year plants and is popping off with the extra attention this year.

This year I'm going to make some epic rhubarb Mead and maybe some wine for the summer

With the extra new seed Trays I set up the second l.e.d. to give the plants perpetual light

Nothing special. Just gets the job done.

Planting.

I just carve out a channel:
- serves as a rain and water catcher
- allows to add more usable compost
- makes a nice soaker line irrigation ditch
- keeps evaporation to a minimum

Once the whole row is planted. They will get a nice dose of b-kind. My 13 in one living soil, but supplement, enzyme, mold, bacteria innoculant.

Once they start growing daily they will get their first dose of loud tea liquid

It is a winter squash and grows long vines that produce heavy yields. We like to eat it as a summer squash so I plant them around May because they are so juicy and succulent early on in the season. As winter squash they are very tasty and we use them to make tortillas
