Yeah skeletor, and a lot of houses are setup for both gas or electric dryers and ranges, so you don't have to lose an appliance, and have an available 100 amps.

No co2 yet...going there tonight to take photos.....

Just to satisfy my curiousity, whats your electric bill like? :yoinks:

It started at $1500/month, but now it's under $400 due to some plans the power company offers.

Interesting... could you please elaborate as to what the plans are? Off-peak scheduling of the lights, or otherwise?

One of the plans is called the "care" program, for low income. There is another for senior citizens, and another available only online, don't know the name of it, but it's a flat rate. Checking with your local power company is the easiest.

Also, off peak hours help a lot too.

I'm going to give a million dollar idea away.......
What we all need are mini solar panels inside our grow rooms...regenerating the power....there I said it...

I KNEW sombody else was thinking of this as well...

Solar panels + controllable sky lights= happy electric bill (and happier planet)

I think sonoma was joking about the solar panel inside the growroom thing. I took him to mean installing solar panels inside the grow room to regenerate some of the power via the HID's.

If I owned a house, and had the bankroll to install solar panels I totally would. But neither is the case at the moment. :-(

Well, it's nice to know that there are flat rates from the electric companies. Very nice setup Sonoma. I'm sure that was alot of work, but i know it's going to be worth it in the end. It's so nice to open one of your kitchen cabinet's and have a stash of jar to choose from, lol. Nice job like always.
Take care,

Couldn't find anything about flat rates from PG&E, yet, but I'm guessing it'd be something more in line with like $0.30/kWh than $0.37 or $0.38 or whatever they're charging these days for the maximum rate for 300% over baseline or whatever it is nowadays. Don't you love deregulation?

I can't believe there was too much light! That is the first I have ever read of this happening, although it does sound reasonable with all the lights you were using in such a small space. I guess there is a limit to the intensity of light that the plants can utilize. I find it interesting to note that one of the strains was doing really well with the extra light. It must be genetics. I wonder if the same thing would happen if you were using all Sativa's? Not like you would want to, but just curious.

Anyways, thanks for all the great info! This thread has been a real pleasure to read. I think it is time to change the way I grow. I have been growing tree style for years to keep down the number of plants, but it seems so much more efficient to go with higher numbers and such a low veg time. Time for a perpetual garden.

you can actually get tax breaks if you install solar panels.

The panels run anywhere from 6 - 14 k for a 2 bedroom house, but the money you get back from taxes will cover the cost or NEARLY cover the cost. So they are worth it if u can save up the green and splurge on them . . .

Windpower is another option but i personally find windpower limiting. Especially with the size of the mill u can use in a residential area. . . but i think windpower would be great for the folks out west who live on a good bitta land =)

samurhigh-looks good! tasted good too......
TGT-I'm trying to get it more perpetual, by having a seperate veg area. coming soon..
rastamonunika-solar panels or any energy you can create yourself is epic. Someone said to me......we all rent our power from the power company, but with solar panels, windpower, hydropower, you own your power, and in some places you can get huge rebates.
seriously though....solar panels inside the room recycling the reflected light, storing it and reusing it.

Here are the pics we've been waiting for....

Sonoma! Nice to see ya around bro, still in loff? haha.......always fun that feeling.....Nice pics too man, gotta enjoy hoods and buds.....good times...............Always appreciate the word "epic" in a thread too........nice....................And i hear ya on the solar tip, lotso states will give ya HUGE subsidy on the project.........typically half off the project if ya do it and you can usually sell excess juice back to the util company, that is if ya gotta any left..........Gotta dig that!

Nice to see ya on the boards.
