I've seen pictures of Leb in both the landrace indica thread and the ultimate sativa thread. What's your take on it?
I've read the genetics were brought from Greece quite recently, which certainly would explain why they stand out in the hash making area. Anyways should be getting a pack from rsc soon

Seems that both indica & sativa are grown there, for RSC's it is a sativa.

As far as I know, the hashish culture is much older in Lebanon than in Greece. Greece used to produce hash in the early 20th century, but this is because it had been outlawed in Egypt, thus making the production to shift toward Greece.

Carefull with RSC's Leb, it requires low nutrients and sparse watering in order to give its full potential.

I shall post pictures of the lebs once I get them growing. It's not too late to try em outside, the location is probably too northernly but we have a sandy soil type which should do fine after giving it some lime. You can always take clones if they don't make it.

I have grown Egyptian and Lebanese seeds and they have very marked similarities, but most of the hash in Egypt was imported, the opium poppy was a much bigger problem in Egypt.

Here are the pages that have the hashish in Lebanon info, i find these descriptions absolutely spot-on, a policeman describing something in great detail with no colouration. I have read De Montfried's book where he describes the hash making in Greece in the 1920s, and his descriptions matches exactly with Wentworth's, which is very strong evidence that it was indeed the Greeks who introduced hash making on a grand scale to the Lebanon as Wentworth says. Hash making was outlawed in Greece and the Lebanon had a large Greek immigrant population, so it makes perfect sense the hash trade would just move across the sea.
My... shame on me ! I was sure that lebanese hash would predate the Greek one, but I seem to be wrong, and I have read a dozen times Clark's HASHISH! and same is written there. I guess my memory is not as good as it used to be, shame...

I don't have much to teach you about hash, you are more of an expert than me, I'm just lucky I own a copy of that Wentworth Pasha book. It's a wonderful book, a fascinating read, a proper boy's own adventure type tale!
