"How many plants can YOU grow with 'The Hookup'?"

@ $34.35 retail price for base --- Makes 29 gallons complete solution

= 10. (Maybe.)

Don't think I could even finish a whole run with this...

For about $15 I have enough Maxi for like 3 whole runs...veg and bloom...dunno if I can sacrifice the simplicity...seems easy enough
...but...I like having just ONE thing to
  • Buy
  • Store
  • Mix
  • And Buy Again

Sorry, don't mean to sound like a dick but...just sometimes it seems like we pay for the individual packaging :chin:

(Note to self, anyone needing to use the term "The Hookup"usually never hooks it up...)

Just switched to the maxibloom in RO water from the floranova veg/bloom.... I gotta say that my mother plants are not liking it... A lot of purpling discoloration on the leaves. I am in foxfarm ocean forrest and have never had this problem using the regular lucas or the 2-part floranova. Feeding at 0.4 EC as normal any more and my plants burn. Whats up with this? Shouldn't I be getting the same results???

If fox farm has any nutes in it I wouldn't use it with such a heavy feeding program like KISS....I use coco with maxi at full and its a bit much sometimes, be careful of ppm's here....

I'm a newb I only have one grow under my belt and that didn't go that great. My question is can i just use the General Hydroponics pH tester kit and get away with it for awhile? Or do i need to wait and get a pH meter? I don't know what my tap pH is, I was hoping to just use the MB with pH UP and Sunshine Advanced mix #4 and just make sure my pH was piss yellow.Could i get away with this?

pH is always between 6.4 and 6.8... The plants had been in the ocean forrest for at least 2-3 weeks before fertilizing.

sitnlow, I initially used an aquarium store pH tester, so I don't see why the GH pH kit wouldn't work.

I can tell you this:

Once you get your routine down, in soil/soiless medium, you'll never have to pH test again :)

Keep at it man, it gets easier ;)

Has anyone tried using MB in a recirculating system such as the wilma system, either with clay pebbles or coco? How is it in terms of clogging dripper lines?

Also how about RDWC with a header tank etc?

never used it in recirculating system yet myself, but i know from mixing it up, when its well mixed it would go through drippers no problem at all, theres no visible particles in it when mixed well.

just a hunch but id say it would work great. i have also read people say that the pH is very stable in MB for up to a week or something? havent tested the pH stability myself yet, maybe i will.

Just dissolve in a small amount of warm water first and it wont be a prob....works well in recirc. hydroton, RW, whateva....

It has worked with every form of medium Ive ever heard of, except aero.
..And only because I don't know anyone doing aero...

***Just be careful, if your soil is premixed with nutes***

Peeps, whats the best ratio for npk lvls? I saw the AN video where they state that most strains consume more NK than P and i've also read that the best ratio is 10-30-10, so which one should i follow?
Im going to buy ferts from a local store (cause its hard to find any of the known brands), a 12-4-6 and a 5-8-10 and i also have liquid bat guano fert 4-5-6, but i dont know how to apply the lucas formula to this 3 ferts.

with the MB & pro-tekt, I get 5-15-17.

I dont know the "recommended" levels but these are doin fine by me.

So I'm almost a month into the KISS method...doing a side by side GH-3 that I had left and MB...and I see no difference. Which is exactly what I was hoping for. It's funny...I'll mix up a few gallons of the MB and feed all that should be fed and then I'll mix up a few gallons of the GH and I'm thinking.....why am I doing this? Let's get this side by side over with already!!! Thanks you guys for opening my eyes! I cant wait for a few of these babies to finish so I can see & taste exactly what I've been waiting for.

I would like to know if anyone uses this for feeding mother plants...and if so, is the same measurement used? 1tsp/gal ph adjusted? I've got a hashberry that I'd like to make a mother and would like to know if I can just keep feeding her this and take cuttings at will. Thanks again!
