Maxi, Kool Bloom and Drip Clean = awesome. The KB is super strong. 1/4 tsp/gallon. I've saved soooo much money!

but what i'm wondering is whats the equivelent? i mean some strains only want a quarter strength lucas, does that mean i should only use a quarter of a quarter strength of cool bloom?

i mean if a plant got a full scoop of maxi bloom it would want more cool bloom than a plant that only got a quarter scoop of maxi bloom right? is the quarter scoop per gallon for cool bloom the dose you give if your plants are already handling full strength maxi bloom? and if thats the case should you give an eighth scoop of cool bloom if you are using half strength lucas?

no man, you're lookin' at this in the wrong light, the MaxiBloom is the food and you give the plants that full strength up until the flush, the KoolBloom is just a PK booster and is only used near the end and then only for a short time, ...it's an additive intended to help the flowers bulk up at the end so it is applied just before the flush.

...frankly there are several who are regulars in this thread who just use the MaxiBloom and who regularly post some amazing results.

i think the best thing you can do is run a couple three cycles WITHOUT the KoolBloom to get yourself a baseline and THEN begin applying the KoolBloom, that way you'll know for sure whether or not it's worth the cake to buy it.

I have been using Maxibloom for a while now. I usually mix up my nutes in a 5 gallon home depot bucket. I used to just use one of the big scoops (the one that comes with the bag) per 5 gal bucket. I just re read the thread and it says to go 7 grams per gallon. I got out my scoop, weighed it, and found out that I have only been using it at 3.5 grams per gallon. I have been seeing nutrient deficiencies in some of my plants and I thought that it was due to ph issues. When I double up the scoop, my ph goes to between 6-6.5, and 1000ppm. Could the really light dosage of nutrient in the past be responsible for my problems? I am kicking myself because my yields have also been way down. At least I found out that I was not doing the KISS correctly at first. Shows what kind of idiot I am. Anyways its always good to reread great threads to get some knowledge that might have been missed the first time. Cheers!!

don't beat yourself up bro, ...just be more thorough in your reading next time, ...no-one cares about your results more than you do so you have to do the leg work.

...and yeah, feeding such a light dosage over a long period could definately be your problem.

Hey Abner, Have you had to give your girls a dose of clear water around 5 weeks? I have these girls looking great, except one looks tired man. Her fans are drooping a bit, but she is really packing on some weight. Im thinking maybe she has a salt build up from feeding MB daily. Wanted to check with you before feeding today, should i give her some clear water for today and see what she looks like tomorrow? and like I said she is the only 1, I have about 8 clones of her in there doing just fine, just this one looks warn, maybe shes tired of making fat beefy buds for me lol.

i've actually never done that although i have gotten lazy a few times (3 or 4) and skipped a watering, ...if it looks droopy i'd maybe suggest you don't water it at all, lift it up and see how heavy it feels, ...and look for pests.

i doubt it's a pest problem but you can never be too careful.

Thanks man, Yeah I'll take a look. I have noticed plenty of those gnats from the coco in there, but they don't seem to be doing any damage...But that has been my scare this whole run, things were going to smoothly for something tragic to NOT happen lol.

Ill see what I can find, if not Ill skip her on rounds today.

How are you're girls doing? it probably looks like a trip to walwart on the 1st in that closet with all those fatties.

get yourself a couple of those sticky flytraps for the tent and those gnats will be all but gone in just a couple weeks.

...and yeah, lol, it is gettin' a might crowded in there, ...i start the flush on some of the earliest girls next week so i'll be clearing up a bit of space in the middle and next run there won't be any in the middle to shade the V-SCROGged plants pinned to the walls.

...all the seedlings have been sexed now and the boys have already been culled so i'll be featuring some of the new girls in the next run, i'm going on faith and the smell and look of the seedling plants so i hope they taste as good as they smell and look, lol.

i have been using maxi bloom for amost 2 years now, and yes i get great results already, and i do already own the koolbloom so it's not a matter of wether it's worth the money or not, i had extra money too spend and i wanted to give it a try.

so you are saying i'm supposed to use my normal scoop of maxibloom per gallon AND a quarter teaspoon of the kool bloom in the same gallon?

Yes, it is how I use it. The four days before I start a two week water only flush I give it MB normal and the KB at 1/4 tsp or 1.8g per gallon.

ok thanks! so you only use koolbloom the last 4 days before the flush period? i have some plants at week 4, about 2 weeks before flush and i was going to start giving it to them...

i think rezdogs recipe called for starting koolbloom at like day 15...frankly i'm surprised there isn't more info on this stuff since so many people seem to use it, ive been searching non stop since i got off work and i can't seem to find anything useful...

Rez's recipe calls for a one time shot of Powder KB @day 15, day 29 and day 36.
Don't confuse that or his recipe with Maxibloom.
(Assuming a 60 day stain) The way I do it with Maxibloom (or Lucas ratio) is I add 1/2 tsp/gal of Liquid KB from approx day 15 flower until day 42 when i switch to 1/4 tsp/gal of Powder KB until day 46, when I switch to plain un-ph'd tap for a 2 week flush. That works best for me, in my environment. Since everyone's set up is different your results may vary...:tiphat:

Do you guys that use tap water let it sit for a day or two so the chlorine evaporates out?
A lot of municipality's have switched over to Chloramine, which doesn't evaporate like chlorine does. Check your water provider's website.
Mine uses Chloramine so I use the water straight outta the tap.
Btw, Chloramine is what is in DM Zone.

Pics from yesterday's chop.

As I said before; From clone to harvest, this Trainwreck saw nothing but Maxibloom! The pics tell it better than I ever could.

The last pic gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Five Dollar Foot Long!"
