Those hiko trays are really cool looking and seem to be very effective

They were developed for planting of tube stock. You can put whatever medium you want to use in them. Put seeds in them. Available from horticultural suppliers and may be known under a different name, cell trays or similar.

yeah i'm debating getting on board with some of those high country too! do you heat those the same way you do the clones in the jiffy pellets in the heated water?

Yep, same way or you could use a heat mat. With winter here now bottom heat for clones is particularly important.

how moist for seeds in peat pellets?

how moist for seeds in peat pellets?

hello all, when trying to germinate seeds in jiffy peat pellets can you overwater them, or will they only hold so much that isn't too moist? thank you.
regards.

:thank you:

Snuffalupagus, I'd just germinate it in a wet paper towel, or in a mug of warm water. Put some foil over the top and let it sit. The seed(s) should sink by 24 hours, and if not, they might be no bueno. If they sink, just let them sit and wait till they germinate! Change the water every once in a while, too.

FINAL WEIGHT IS IN

FINAL WEIGHT IS IN

Well I dried, or should I say nuked the poor little thing overnight under a 1000W HPS. Took what little bud there was off the stem. Got out some digital scales and weight didn't even register.

So in conclusion I would not recommend this as a way to grow, think I'll stick to the SOG.

Should have enough for 2 joints though.

Let me know of any other experiments with clones threads, usually have a few spares lying around.
