interesting looking Pie Milky, I've never seen it stack that fat before. usually my cherries are always spaced out quite a bit on the internodes. and yea it doesn't have the best structure it can be kind of spindly and shoot up fast and leave lots of negative space. thats why i always double plant them to increase sq ft of canopy.
Sea Stim is pretty good at starting up enzyme systems. Sea Crop is good too. So are rock dusts.
It takes enzyme co factors to have functioning enzymes.
Enzyme co factors are trace and ultra trace minerals.
Plants need every element on the periodic table.
Really wonder what Dave did for the 20 yards he sent me, literally no problems.
we went and saw him yesterday, he thinks most of our problems aren't really directly related to our soil or the high PK. its fusarium caused by the poor drainage and the native clay…most of my plants are kicking ass, stacking and getting greasy! I'm thinking about asking him for a custom blend devoid of PK so that i can "cut" my soil a bit.
so I'm not sure how NorCal could have poor drainage ? It's supposed to have a bunch of perlite and lava rock. At least mine does. I'm curious how you guys came up with a definite diagnosis of fusarium , did you get a result back from a lab from a tissue test that confirmed that hypothesis ? Native clay soil is awesome if you treat it right. Gypsum , HumaCarb , rejuvenate , and spectrum can do some amazing things to red clay, like turn it in to black soil. I'm curious how you plan to get a mix with no K , Dave starts with green waste compost ,it will always be stacked high in K if it's the base of the blend even if he blends in the 20% castings.
dave made some pretty bold statements claiming that even though our PK levels were high, that the plant isn't up taking all of it at once and that true organics lets the plant pick and choose what they need. he is frustrated with pot growers because most of us go and do our little tweaks and mess with the regimen, including us with our top dress. he made recommendations already echoed by most here, more calcium and i added Fulmag into the foliars as well. also lowering the PH with sulfur. I've got a bunch of ideas for 2015 on how to improve drainage out there.
I don't believe that to be the case. In certain pH and ERGS ranges chemistry is superseding biology. Plants need to mine minerals from the soil to make new cells and complete metabolic functions. Biology does help increase availability , solubility , and efficacy of all elements. That is why when you use lots of quality biology products like spectrum and MycoGensis you can use stuff like kno3 and cano3 or a product like hyperCaP and have it be like pushing a nitrous button , because the plant can easily metabolize the extra free ions in to proteins with an active enzyme system , something you get in the presence of active biology and high levels of trace and ultra trace elements
either way all those dumb pots are in 2013 EWSF and most are very healthy. and most of my plants in the 2014 mounds are doing pretty good as well, out of 70+ we only have 5 that were negatively affected by fusarium and other issues, and those plants aren't a total loss they dropped a few lower branches to wilt and have smaller nugs, but will still be harvestable. momentum has changed for the better now after a scary late august, the nugs are growing and stacking so fast that its far outpacing any of the problems. our yield should be up 100-200% over last year so 5-10% crop loss isn't the end of the world
wish the best of luck to you for seasons close !
