You can always shut the blackout for when you need to run the lights in to the night to extend the veg for the 3rd run and not stick out too bad or piss the neighbors off from light pollution...
I can't see any one complaining about some lights being on during a cloudy day in the spring or fall...if they do, they're haters and looking to just give you problems and you probably need to have your farm somewhere else if that's who is around you.

different political climate as well, san diego orange and riverside don't seem as friendly. I agree on the greenhouse too although as soon as i put mine up the neighbors assumed I was going pot. I shit the 2days the chopper hovered over my OD too. well planned gh for the win.

Deppin is certainly a must when running supp lighting. I looked like a football stadium when I ran 6 lights.
Auto dep sounds nice but nothing saves more money than havin a day drinker or smoker live In a cabin and be on speed dial. I get a text confirmation every morning when my tarp gets pulled. Some growers go 9 to 9, claiming that by 9 at night it's already dark enough then they'll throw the tarp on at 4 am, eliminating the need to be there for 12 hrs. I've also heard pull at 6 pm and take off at 10 and it's still dark enough at 6a.m. They flower. Personally I pull at 7:50, prop the sides up at 1o pm , lower at 6. And then pull off at 7:50. Labor intensive but very little mold.

I did 630 to 630 this year with lots of fans circulating air. Zero mold.

Anyone every seen this? I was cleaning out plants last night and saw this on the side of the main stem. Don't know if it's a big deal or not. It looks like an old split in the main stalk near the soil. Never seen it before and thought that if it needs to be addressed I want to get on it ASAP. Don't have the funds for the Hemp Disease Book, so any help is much appreciated!

Does it look healed over/callused or is it still fresh looking? Looks like an old wound already healed from the pics. I have "Hemp Diseases..." and will look through this afternoon for you.
Thanks Luther, I appreciate the help. It looks old and there isn't anything coming out of it (oozing or fluid like). It almost looks like it split the stalk trying to grow, but I've never seen this before. I suppose it could be genetics? I thought that putting something over it, may be good, but not sure what or if I should. Just thinking ahead for the rest of the season.
Your plant has stretch marks. Looks like it stopped working out for awhile. LOL
It could be a borrowing worm of some kind. Or just the bark forming. Is it soft in that area only?

I had the same thoughts as grownerd when I saw that video. Auto-dep systems are really cool, but there's so much light lost on that system. You'd be fighting stretch and heat all god damn season. Maybe if you buried it instead...but that's another can of worms in regards to ventilation and access. Gonna try to get the camera out and get some shots for this thread today. Stretch just started over these ways and the girls hopped from about 6' to 7' in the span of two or three days.
My power sprayer. I don't have an ATV and lugging around and maintaining/recharging a 12V battery didn't seem as appealing as running an extension cord.
Cost almost exactly $250 in parts.
The NorthStar NSQ 2271T is a 12V DC pump rated 70 psi/2.2 gpm and a 8A max rating. A 120-240V AC to 12V DC 10A transformer is used to power it.
6 gallon plastic jug with 1/2" ID polyethylene tubing for inlet, 3/8" ID braided PVC for outlet to a Valley Industries Turbo Flash spray gun.
Mounted on a Harbor Freight hand truck. Need to make a couple small tweaks, like maybe swapping the 1/2" ID inlet tubing to a braided PVC hose, and finding something to strap down the 6gal jug with.
All in all works pretty good, but the supposed 70 psi is not as powerful as I had imagined it might be, as I've run this spray gun off of house water pressure (?? psi) and off a Harbor Freight inline pump @ 53 psi. Definitely beats hand-pumping a 2gal or backpack sprayer.
I haven't tried it, but I've learned Harbor Freight sells a 15gal ATV-style sprayer with a 12V diaphragm pump (rated 50psi / 1gpm) and a spot sprayer for $100. The pump & sprayer on my system is a bit higher-end so I expect it to work a little better; plus I don't anticipate the need of a 15gal tank too soon. However if you're looking for a cheap power sprayer solution without ordering a bunch of parts and putting it together, that might be a good alternative, about $85 out the door with a 20% coupon. Of course you still need a power supply, but that's only $20-ish.
I like to use a GFCI outlet for this type of stuff. If you don't have one, you can buy a portable plug-in adapter for about $15 at Home Depot.

Some day I'll have enough cause to replace my Chapin 1947 with a power sprayer, but for now it still does the job. I'm a big fan of hosing them down in veg with as much PSI's as they can handle. Beat them while they can take it so they grow up strong.

Overgrow, The spot is hardened off. Some of the other branches of the same strain have the same thing (just a few). I'm thinking maybe genetics. Hopefully no biggy though.
Here's a quick pic of the garden from a few days ago...
Got some fungi popping up all over in the beds in the garden. I assume this is a good thing! At least I hope so...
