Maybe fatter buds at lower elevation, but the Crystal Content is more at a higher elevation.
I remember reading a Swiss study that showed yes yields are larger at lower elevations but THC % is greater at higher elevations but yields are lower. Higher elevation bud is better IMO from the samples I've tried. Had the same cut grown at 2,500' and 5,000', by 2 different growers but both had the same skill set and basically used the same nute program, and the stuff from 5,000' was amazing in comparison.

As for resin production some believe that a plant is programmed through genetics for a certain amount of resin product. So the same plant will produce more bud at lower elevations and less up higher but total resin production will be the same.

This is getting a bit off track but interesting subject...but you guys can keep your lowland bud...LOL!

I like the idea of no grows in town or on small properties...Big ganja patches belong in the hills or in a warehouse...not in town where all kinds of eyes are driving by, smelling..telling their friends in LA and the Bay Area...then come the rippers and the gun fights...

I think keeping the ganja in the hills behind locked gates and far from any one other than the people tending it is the way to go....that is how it has been done since forever in the Emerald Triangle..

Only with the influx of Green Rush growers have we seen patches popping up in town, next to schools, and any where else a wannabe marijuana millionaire can cram a plant..

Tough luck for those with out the proper place, but those with the right spots were already doing it..before medical...after medical..after whatever passes this November...we locals will still be here doing what we do...

I don't think it's so much any one trying to keep any one else from making a buck, or controlling a market...I think it is about putting the risky element out of town in to the hills..

On another note...no one ever asks for Lowland Thai bud or Lowland Afghani...:)

And yet another note...If any one is still needing to put their watering systems together, hit up DripWorks in Willits...they are the best! I am waiting on a pressure regulator before I can glue what needs to be glued and fire the system up..but oh man! DW Hooked it up! Big ups to Drip Works Willits for making my garden a possibility...

That would ass out the thousands of neighborhood mom and pop growers in towns all over norcal. I would say that the amount of individual growers affected by this is huge. These are mostly people running their scripts in the backyard and making a modest or supplemental income for their family doing so. I know dozens of people like this. For every commercial grower I know ten of these people... My paradigm is obviously pushing the definition a little bit, but I still support their right and economic need to grow on a scale that you would have prohibited.

I hope we can all come and work for you when our grows are zoned out of existence. LOL... funny thing is you'll be the first guy crying about it when all the displaced neighborhood growers start trying to buy up land in your neck of the woods by the HUNDREDS.

Unlike Mendo and Lake county..where any dirty hippie with a bit of fety can get a piece of dirt..This little piece of Cali is "regulated"... People here don't sell or rent to just any one..and I wouldn't want to have a scene in the places that they do!...

There's a big ol' sign as you come in to town... it can be interpreted as "We don't want your kind here!"

How's your water system going Nomaad? I had a 1" regulator all dialed in and ready to start hittin switches then I noticed it can only flow 32 GPM..not enough for me!! Have to go to a 1.5" regulator which will be here Monday.

I grew out the mom of the LA Con the Afi and it was a Bubba esque plant...the LA Con is the Afi x Dutch-bred Afghani, so I can see it getting big Doc, as big as the sun and space you give her ;)

really guys chill out.

when i worked on prop 215, alot the hippies who already had their thing going were against it and the people who used to make 5 a p are now pissed off. theres plenty of money to go around and for people to make a decent fair living. i would refocus any anger or fear towards like nomaad said, the multi billion dollar cartel grows up in the hills, and rj reynolds lol. the funny thing about local only locations is that unless its on the big island and ur a white guy, youll be local too after a year.

drip works rocks! highly recomended aswell, although they dont sell pumps anymore and cant help you size a pump. everything else - rockstar heres a shot of my mini system which is their downspray sprayers/two zones/two tanks daisy chained together:

In this part of Cali to be a local a certain % of your blood line must be inbred..

I put this in my thread, Drip Works hooked you up good LH. Here is what I got from them. Ended up doing 600 ft of 3/4 and a little over 1000 ft of 1" over 6 zones.

After thought: Localhero : are you going to scrog the rows together to keep the height down? what are you going to do when your plants are 10' tall?

Planty, no work scheduled on the watering system till after plants go in. Still conceptualizing. I really like the look of localhero's system. Simple.

Yours is sweet, but I am not spending that much at this location. Its only 30 in 200's (last year I often bucket watered 18 for the exercise) and I may not be able to grow here next year. Conditions are not right for an all-out high pressure system like yours. Maybe next year... when I move in to your neighborhood. Or won't they let me in? ;)

Nomaad - I pulled some receipts out and figured out a "garden site" package..comes in at just under 5K no labor - You'll be able to disconnect the system and move it anywhere and it'll be the same that I'm doing that can do up to 120 300s (if you increase the 2500 gal tank to a 5000 gal tank or get another 2500)

All that could be broken down and moved to wherever you'd just have to get the main tank full and do your tea then go.

Local I love the straw everywhere bro..you can see how much brighter it makes things in the pic you posted of your patch. AAA bro. Good job! That is my next project after I button up my fence and plug my ladies in..

That pic was taken i think around 10am? its weird lighting and looks darker in the back than what it is.

Hell yeah i love the straw definitely much brighter back there! it doesnt look that patted down but it was much higher. the feed and tack place i got it from on pch gave me a great tip, water down the dirt first, then lay the straw then water it in again. actually yeah it was nice and flat until my dog went ape shit back there running in circles and rolling around on his back.

Planty: when i have to scrog 10' plants all together what im gonna do is have a big party.

damn 600' thats definitely scaled up from what i have. I just ran 1/2" poly pipe around all the pots and stuck the downsprayers from dripworks into the poly. the pressure requirements for those sprayers are 20psi. so hooked up the pressure regulators and matched pump output. those pumps are nice tho, they can be ran dry without frying them, are self priming and dont allow flow through when they arent on. with 2 downsprayers they put out 4 gallons of water every 15 minutes per pot. so its easy to scale back or up to match water needs. thing is they dont like to be ran more than 15 minutes at a time. connected that to a simple 7 day timer that i can set to watever i want, whatever day or days i want and for different times on different days. kinda has me wondering if theres a monthly timer out there and i can really get stupid with it.

thanks for the props! after the failed first attempt at outdoor last year im like itching to make something more representative of my passion for this.

nor cal casts a big shadow.

edit: get the quick connect connectors for your poly from dripworks, unless you enjoy isometric workouts pushing poly into stubborn fittings. get lots of them too.

takse me 8' of 3/4" to do 1 bed and over 160 ft of 1" per zone.

Here's what 1 bed looks like prior to having the sprayers and stakes installed

Its 85 degrees outside, and the plants are loving it. They are all Vieing for spots in the big holes.

Theres a couple ChemdogD/ Sour Diesel females, Can those get big? They are about 16" tall now.
