Thats what I was thinking too.

Better have some high elevation, full sun light dep ready FTW. You can time it just right and then you can have the perfect cure on it too ;)

Good point...you mean like this?

Hey 30...when you do thc do you standardize moisture or just test as is? And how much does that effect the %?

I am in CO and most people dry their stuff bone dry to get higher numbers...even though nobody smokes it that way. Seems to me if the labs would rehydrate to an agreed upon number the info would be a lot more telling.
My local lab stopped testing moisture content, and I am not happy about that at all. Knowing the moisture content is a huge factor. For example, I had my Chem Sis test over 20%, but it was 16% moisture content. According to the lab, between 6-11% is ideal. I then took a drier sample to see the difference. The moisture content was still high at almost 9%, but within the desired range. The Total Active Cannabinoids increased by almost a full percentage point.

Good Lord 700 bucks for an oz of oil!? Wow... Michigan eh?
What is the going rate for oil in your parts? Not sure where you hail from, I guess I am asking what the going rate for on average is. 700 sounds fair, good oil isn't fast, cheap or easy to make.

river rock just released a cost breakdown of how much oil/wax should go for. even at a cheap price for the starting material, it should run at least 30-50 a gram. anything less than 400 an OZ and you are just cheating yourself. nowadays in my neck of the woods, hash oil labs are a much easier charge to stick than simple cultivation. almost every bust in my area has involved a hash oil lab of some sort.

personally, i do 400 all the way up, maybe 6k a LB if you are a good friend of mine. i echo what OB says, BHO is not easy, cheap, fun or SAFE to make.

i do see some oil going for 250-300 an oZ but it is always very liquid and syrupy, and usually low quality smoke. if you leave it out for a day you will start to see bubbles emerge from it. anything that is amber or of maleable consistency should run at least 400 per oz.

they really do! and super easy to sit in a chair by the cage and bin everything when its dry. I saw somebody on ic doing it prolly 7 years ago. congrats to everyone who worked hard and pulled off a great season. thanks again for the kindness and encouragement over the season, ic has kinda been part of my life and family for some years now.

My preferred method of drying is parachute cord and a ratcheting tie downs.

I have D Rings welded to 1" steel bar stock and tie the P Cord to one end and tension the other end down with the ratcheting tie down...

The cages work ok, I find that a room full of cages brings about the same needs as a room full of lines, with no real benefit

, Imho lines hung nice and tight, spaced about 30" apart vertically, and each row of lines spaced about 20-24" work great. In a long/tall room you can fit a good amount. And its also super easy and fast to get the dried stalks off the lines. I always make sure all the stuff in the whole room, all the branches, are all facing the same direction when they are hung, as it makes for much easier work to take them down.

Its important to have the dry room just as dialed as the grow.

Backyard Farmer- yeah sounds pretty slick. I like the ratchet idea.

the one thing I like about the cages is that it removes a handling step or 2 in my situation. We break it down and put on hangers on lines outside and move into the drying room after transferring onto fence posts and putting them back onto lines in the drying room. I could just haul those into the drying room and call it good. Probably more of a morale booster than money saver, monotonous work sucks.

nice ob! I load those cages up at the plant then put them straight in the dry room. when its time I take a cage out, sit in a chair and empty buds to a bin. I can fit way more product in a room on cages than a room of lines. if I feel like one side isn't getting dry I just move or spin the cage a little.

How big of a drying room do you use ? How many dried units can you pull out of your room from one drying cycle ?

The best I've been able to do in one 5 day drying cycle is 150 units in 500 sq ft...This is with 9.5' ceilings and lines.

Sounds right to me. As much as being on a ladder sucks, it does help if you can go that tall, or taller even...seen some slick barn setups.

IMO 5 days is perfect. 7 is the longest acceptable. 10 is too long. imho of course

the cup is about a tribute to tims friend who died. thats why the date is the date. it would be great to have it in april when all things perfect but that wasnt the spark that created the cup. the memory of a passed friend was.
best,
