the judges want to be able to share a bunch of samples with the cup guests, that's the reason for the big entries, they want to be able to share with everyone they can share with.

Im kinda bummed the cup isnt at 101 anymore, ...it seems the only folks that can smoke/vape on site are those with a recc and its in a special place, not out in the open, which was one of the best parts of it being at 101.

Either way its going to be fun!

My Og x Chem cross is curing up nicely, maybe I will give some of you old pro's a run for your money this year. The entry fee would be worth it just to find out what my THC % is. Only the top 20 get tested however.

Edit: anybody know how to get your herb lab tested? Shoot me a link?

Every entry gets tested for THC CBD CBN, the top 20 gets full cannabinoid spectrum tested as well as for mildews/molds and chem fert/cide residues

hi,
drop it off at my shop. we are a pure analytics drop off. they are a killer lab. we are a emerald cup drop too. any questions hit us up at 707-923-2175 tues-sat 10-4

we had the first judges meeting last night. first 9 samples looked good! usually first ones are not all that but this year the farmers are on it. dont be afraid to enter. participation main point, not competition.
best,

Hey 30...when you do thc do you standardize moisture or just test as is? And how much does that effect the %?

I am in CO and most people dry their stuff bone dry to get higher numbers...even though nobody smokes it that way. Seems to me if the labs would rehydrate to an agreed upon number the info would be a lot more telling.

Never heard that about moisture level before?
Makes sense tho, more moisture would take up a bigger % of the total 100%, leaving less for cannabinoids.
Makes sense ATM at least lol could just be stoned :D

Majority of mine have come back high 5% moisture, 5.8ish.

I don't know why they do these things so early...I guess they're not interested in narrowleaf plants...lotsa special herb is still in the ground...couple weeks dry and a few weeks' cure...and the cups are long past!

Yea I still have to drop off my entries. Ive been trying to let them cure up a bit nicely.

But hey Mapinguari- You have till the 1st of December to get your entries in I think, that means you have a while still....

The Sonoma Hilton is offering discount for guests who mention the emerald cup, as well as allowing vaporizing in rooms. Would make for a pretty chill weekend.

OK Mapi, Jointed, chef, and Organic Buds....please remember this time.

After so many years of pain and BS from the law and gov, you're goin' to the Hilton to enjoy a high night of cannabis judging, vaping, and awards. You're in fucking California going to smoke out after a year of intensity in your gardens.

Except for A-dam in its heyday of the 70's, mebbe the 80's, where on earth could you ever expect such a trippy moment...............................

Remember.

hi,
i dont test it. i am just a lab drop. i do know that the lab tests as delivered. it shows better what the sample is actually representing. if we super dry first we get higher numbers but not really an accurate representation of what we are going to smoke.
some labs super dry and some dont. i use the same lab for 4 1/2 years, pure analytics. they know what they are doing and are just top notch people in general.
best,

Hello mates!

ponocrookedbrah: nice haze! it seems that cold is arriving to your area, however this phenotype isn't so lately... enjoy it!

Year by year I like more growing quality herbs, it is important to have some productive strains but sometimes I prefer a kind of ganjah with special flavour or high

On the other hand I have benn talking with some friends older than me who smoke quite much than me and they explain me that they don't appreciate too much the effect as they are all the day smoking. I think that as they are stoned don't really feel the potency... For example if you take a narcotic indica and then a sativa you will be more high but you really don't perceive the stimulating effects of a pure sativa for example...

Good luck to the colleagues that are going to the emerald cup!
It looks a really nice party where the fun is served!

Good Lord 700 bucks for an oz of oil!? Wow... Michigan eh?

OB
Id say 1 ounce of oil is a fair amount for a cup entry. You cant get the best oil around award if you cant share it with anyone. That would suck. Everyone is like "yea I heard about it, and I saw a dab of it..." If you arent selling lots of it, are an active breeder, or have a company to who needs the rep, why enter? Other than to go and puff down with a bunch of good ppl for a good time.... Id just show up and hand out labeled samples anyway. If its bomb people will talk about the one that wasnt on the ballot...maybe you will get penciled in..;p

Thats what I was thinking too.

Better have some high elevation, full sun light dep ready FTW. You can time it just right and then you can have the perfect cure on it too ;)

No shit...finished with 12 full hours of sunlight, a couple month cure. If I were serious about it that is how I would go.
