Just a couple things to add regarding "visits".

- Record the audio if possible; they probably are. (iPhones are great for this)
- Take pictures of the vehicles and officers present if possible. (had a friend in Yuba get ripped by the cops. No charges, no report, just took the plants and left him scared)
- have your info straight before they show up.
- keep everything clean and tidy. I'm not just talking about paperwork here...

Most likely no problems, but you can never be too careful and remember, the grower is usually protected pretty well in Cali if you follow the rules.

Happy gardening - Butte

I am not using it. Too close to flowering to mess around with something that is recommended against... IMO.

yeah ianSF, sounds like your landlord has someone ratting him off. Probably a neighbor, or a friend of your neighbor. Probably calls the cops to report a grow and adds in the info that he owns other properties, hoping that he will get his property siezed.
Most likely they exaggerated your grow when they called the cops. " Yeah officer, he has a lot of weed growing, and he has four other properties and he likes to shoot at people."

The deputy asked next time I kill one to put it on ice and please call him as he likes to eat the meat. I've actually met someone else in Lake County that claims to eat rattlesnake, so I'm not too sure what to make of this. Is he a fan of bushmeat or is this some sort of trap?

Per the California Fish & Game website "No sportfishing license is required for the sport take of any rattlesnake." So I don't seem to be breaking any game law by killing a rattlesnake. Thoughts?

Thanks for the support everyone!
rattle snake meat is good to some people. some of the ole country stores in the delta here serve rs biscuts in the mornings. not sure but in order for it to be against the law to kill a certain species of snake it i think it would have to be on the endangered species list jmo. as for the cop thats an ify situation there. i wouldnt call that fucker till after harvest but just as a precautionary if i killed one in the future id freeze it. if you happen to bump into him again and he speaks tell him you froze some for him but you lost his number. if you dont see him and have some snakes call after you have no more plants going and offer to bring them to him in town. from what i read he gave you props on your plants and said he hopes you have a hundred next year maybe he could be one of the leos that knows what is right and doesnt fuck with people who follow the rules. maybe he is hoping the nov bill will pass and he can do more important shit than hike up and down the hills lol. you never really can tell about people these days. alot can be told about people from their body language. if they were not being dickheads and just asking questions about your landlord and they checked to see if you were legit and you were then chances are they are looking at your landlord not you. and since they have already checked you and saw you were legit then offering up some dead snakes may make that deputy and his buddies (cuz you know he is gonna brag about snake meat lol) know that you have nothing to hide and prob wont ever fuck with you again. alot of people speak on karma i believe in it myself this may be karma saying paranoia will destroy ya. i mean really if this dude wasnt a cop and wanted to eat a fucking snake you know youd go huntin one cuz you wanna see the crazy fucker actually eat one lmao

hope that link works, they got 5 year mandatory minimum for plants seen the previous two years (1999 & 2000), added to the ones seized during the raid in 2001. They called it a continuing conspiracy to manufacture 100 plants.

That is why they take notes when they visit, and they like tall plants.

I will not be letting them on my property without a warrant. They do not have any right to enter your property without one. "Compliance checks" are 100% illegal unless there is an ordinance you are supposed to be complying with. There is none in Lake county and even when there is (not till after Novemeber), we're pushing for the health department to be the body that conducts them.

Your experience sounds a lot like mine from last year.

The question about whether you'd been shooting leads me to wonder if somebody didn't call them to your spot. Your landlord being a person of general interest also sounds like it might have red-flagged you. The whole sharecropping question seems like they are looking at HIM more than at you. Creepy. Did you note the names of the deputies? I would write a letter to the Sheriff thanking them for their visit and noting the names of the deps who came out. Just to make sure it was an official visit. From what I have heard, deputies in Lake are known to harass and shake down people who are known criminals. The letter to the Sheriff will make sure this is not happening to your landlord, and you by association. Ask if "Compliance Checks" are standard operating procedure... and make sure you send a copy to the Board of Supervisors.

Thanks for the post Ian. Valuable intel! K+
Very good advice.

Pics and Question

A couple pics from last yesterday:

Great White Shark:

The rest of my garden is still stretching. I was wondering if those of you using Brix mix are still using it or is it no longer appropriate. The directions say up untill one week prior to harvest, but those are general instructions for all plants. Our plant being what it is and our "fruit" being smoked (mostley) my instinct is to not use it once buds start stacking. (But what do I know?) So I was hoping for a little advice:plant grow:

Tom Hill sez he uses it till the Mid-August stretch, 'when the buds start stacking'. It's in one of first few pages of this thread.

Great looking grow. Always wanted to taste the Great White Shark. mmmm.

Peace

Just a note:

I have been using the Brix Mix since early in the season... I was lucky enough to get a round before they sold out. I was even able to kick down a third of my supply to a friend in need. Until last week, when I started to hit them with a little extra N to the roots and a micronute, I was feeding nothing at all but Brix Mix in a weekly foliar.

My Brix levels are between 14 and 15 across multiple samples from all strains and ages of growth.

Gotta be something to it. Thanks, Tom.

I searche4d all the grow stores in my town, and they dont even know what Brixmix is. The 14 to 15 number..... It that what your seeing in the spectrometer?

I believe that's what he's using, Purpur, and nomaad my question is do you know what your levels were before you were using brix? I can't remember if you got the spectro before or after you application.. I never was able to order any due to them being out of stock but I am curious what your results were..

when you apply the brix do you saturate the plants or just a good mist? also how long do you wait from planting to first spray the brix?

Very heavy foliar. Dripping wet. Concentrating on the underside of the leaves. I started two weeks after planting.
