has anyone heard of using milk during your watering process for flowering? I was told by more then one that adding milk to your watering will increase the calcium causing the buds to gain more crystals? Or using milk as foliar to kill powder mildew
sorry guys. my connection cut and I didn't think this went through.

Not really sure about this as it might cause an a bacteria or pest infestation but don't know for certain. Just my thoughts.
Milk can help stop powdery mildew from spreading on your leaves but also does not kill it. Sometimes baking soda is used but also does not kill it.

We received a surprise visit from the Lake County Sheriff's Department at 0900 Friday morning.

They were armed, polite, professional, informed, and dare I say, even funny at times. (Once I got my heart beating again....)

I have 40 acres and I'm at the back end behind some hills, far from the road. The two closest neighbors on that side are much larger ranches.

I knew I'd probably have a visit eventually, but I assumed they would hop the gate (or cut the lock) and come up the driveway. I was sitting in the screen tent and looked up to see two men in body armor and fatigues, the lead officer with a rifle, standing in the garden. They had walked in the long way via the back and I hadn't heard a thing. I can hear deer creeping at night and I didn't hear them coming in from the neighbor's property.

"Lake County Sheriff's Department!! Are you armed?"

"Hell no!"

They checked my ID, ran me for warrants, inspected the posted recs and the copy of my lease I posted along with the recs. They wanted to know who the people were and wrote down the names on a card. I assume they are starting to cross check to see if people are using multiple recs on multiple grows. Anyone have any ideas?

Their big interests were making sure the paperwork was in order, have I been doing any shooting, and if I pay cash for rent or have some sort of a sharecropping arrangement. They know my landlord and I've already had to bail him out of jail once so I may be tainted by association. When I mentioned I had rent receipts of sorts, they were happy.

"Now I'd like to ask you a few more questions..."

(Heart stops again)

"Relax, it's about the plants."

They asked some intelligent questions, including the estimated yields, and why some were smaller. (Clone order that fell through, left me scrabling for clones...)

When they asked about the big dry pit in the field, I told them my landlord told me he took 2500 galons a day from there last year and promised me when I rented it would do so all year. Officer politely coughed into his hand while saying "bull***t". That got everyone laughing. They even smiled and correctly asked, "Do you get your water delivered from xxxx?"

The lead officer pointed to my largest plant and said "I'm a little disappointed... If I inspect you again next year, I want to see a hundred plants like that one."

Did I just hear that right? The sheriff deputy making fun of the size of my plants, telling me I don't have enough and to try harder next year? Is this opposite world? He did say it was pretty good for a first try, so I've got that going, I guess....

Total visit was about 30 minutes. They left the way they came, mentioning they would be doing compliance checks on other grows along the road most of the day.

"Will we be seeing you officers again this season?"

Hands me his business card and says:

"Not unless you call us!"

Anyone else in the county get a visit?

Still no internet at the ranch, so I'll check back and answer any questions tomorrow.

Good luck to all!

If you had answered yes to the first question, then he could have shot you or got you for armed in commission.

And he was disappointed and would like to see you with 100 next year so he could have the Feds hit you with a 5 year mandatory minimum, it wasn't a coincidence he said 100. And he would prefer the larger plants so he could inflate the size of his bust and the D.A. can go into court saying it was a "large scale operation".

I will not be letting them on my property without a warrant. They do not have any right to enter your property without one. "Compliance checks" are 100% illegal unless there is an ordinance you are supposed to be complying with. There is none in Lake county and even when there is (not till after Novemeber), we're pushing for the health department to be the body that conducts them.

Your experience sounds a lot like mine from last year.

The question about whether you'd been shooting leads me to wonder if somebody didn't call them to your spot. Your landlord being a person of general interest also sounds like it might have red-flagged you. The whole sharecropping question seems like they are looking at HIM more than at you. Creepy. Did you note the names of the deputies? I would write a letter to the Sheriff thanking them for their visit and noting the names of the deps who came out. Just to make sure it was an official visit. From what I have heard, deputies in Lake are known to harass and shake down people who are known criminals. The letter to the Sheriff will make sure this is not happening to your landlord, and you by association. Ask if "Compliance Checks" are standard operating procedure... and make sure you send a copy to the Board of Supervisors.

Thanks for the post Ian. Valuable intel! K+

Hello all...everybody's gardens are looking great this year. It is a huge honor to be able to keep up with the progress of such kick ass grows, much respect to all. So a question for all the experts that hang around here (you know who you are:)), having problems with fusarium this year and thanks to the plethora of knowledge on here i got the mycostop applied last week (thanks nomaad and trinity). Seems to be working good. Due to shipping f ups and personal error i didnt get the root shield till today. I didnt get it from 3D(same trichoderma strain) but i saw that they dont recommend use during or at onset of flower.
So my question is should I treat with a small amount of the trichoderma now or just simply rely on the mycostop having eradicated the problem? Guy from 3D made it sound like plants wont flower right or delay, maybe worse? Guy from Bioworks(company that made product) said he has never heard of that happening(Bioworks out of NY...3D is mendo..hmmmmm). Would hate to screw up the big picture in an attempt to prevent futher loss. Cant get pics to upload...but the plants are pretty large, biggest being probably 8' by 8'... only one is a about 3 weeks in flower, the rest are in stretch or preflower.
Any advice is greatly appreciated and again much repect to everyone on here.
