Every country with taxpayer healthcare is better than us,

1st of, no country is better than the USofA.

2nd, we have the BEST healthcare in the world. Just about everything comes from us.

We lead the way in medical advances...not socialist countries using our products.

Free markets lead to innovation...no government run anything can 'make' innovation.

Romper Room easy...if School House Rock is above...

Has anyone checked their blood pressure prior to posting here and then after? I try to stay out of these sh&t slinging fests but am compelled to look in after a while, like a car wreck.

I will trust packerfan79 and vta to carry the ball for me here. I am not a conservative btw but the libs/left/socialists have gone off the rails for sure. badfishy mentioned Israel and not funding them, I have to agree at this point. I like Israel as it is the only civilized country in that region imo, but they should carry their own weight it seems. We gave them quite a lot already.

No more handouts for any country and close down immigration, mostly illegal but legal too for a while. Let the socially superior Euros and the rest of the world police their own damn sh&t, get the military on the border where the invasion is taking place.

Both parties are complicit in the open borders and endless immigration, legal or otherwise that trashes my quality of life here in California. Trump only favors stopping illegal but I will take what I can get. He is literally fighting the entire political machine with no help but the voters that put him in.

No money in a stable or declining population so do not expect any politician to help.

We have millions upon millions upon millions upon millions upon millions of illegals here...and the some.

And then millions upon tens of millions more.

It was like a gigantic tidal wave in the 80's, starting with the trades...now they own them all. And then every entry level job teenagers once held.

So of course now the liberal scum that run this joint, give sanctuary to the invading criminals.

But I digress...I'll sit here...pay the highest taxes...deal with all the stupid shit like no straws and tranny bathrooms. But with Donald Trump as our President...together We Will Make America Great Again !

America is #1 in Falsification of Clinical Trial results.

America is also #1 in Removal of Adverse Events from Clinical Trial results.

Those aren't medical advances - those are open loop medical experiments where the bad outcomes are hidden from the public - AND from the medical community.

Cannavore is correct if we are talking joe average citizens health care. normal folks here in US have high co-pays, no help with prescriptions, and high deductibles that YOU must pay before insurance pays (if at all) anything. you have to pay attention to "prescription plans" ; they will charge you double or triple actual cost of drugs to cover the expense of "managing" your plan. you can easily go bankrupt & lose your home if very ill here, via cancer, heart attack etc. if we are so fucking wonderful, why do so many folks wear those MAGA hats? maybe they don't agree with you?

Beware of fraudulent info. I'm not sure if this is pure ignorance or intentional deception.

My wife worked in the medical profession in Europe for years. Many of the new miracle drugs have been readily available for years at prices affordable by all. Many more pharmaceuticals are available in Europe now that are not available here. The FDA takes forever to figure out how they are going to get paid off for acceptance.

I've personally been admitted in hospitals in both Europe and the US for surgical procedures. Attempting to say that the US is better has no basis in fact.

Related but sort of Academic -

Would like to see a reporter ask one of the GND advocates how it relates to the Seneca Cliff.

(which is a model for the collapse & contraction of complex systems.)

Just to hear the reaction.

https://www.google.com/search?q=Seneca+Cliff

The essence of this book can be found in a line written by the ancient Roman Stoic Philosopher Lucius Annaeus Seneca: "Fortune is of sluggish growth, but ruin is rapid". This sentence summarizes the features of the phenomenon that we call "collapse," which is typically sudden and often unexpected, like the proverbial "house of cards." But why are such collapses so common, and what generates them? Several books have been published on the subject, including the well known "Collapse" by Jared Diamond (2005), "The collapse of complex societies" by Joseph Tainter (1998) and "The Tipping Point," by Malcom Gladwell (2000). Why The Seneca Effect?

I think the Green New Deal is a sign of the phenomenon, during an economic contraction, of people ...

grasping at straws
getting desperate.

or, in the vernacular, "Looking for Unicorns" - and Saviors.

Because the Easy Days are over (which for the US were the days of Cheap Energy and a Health Middle Class economy.)

I lived in SF before the dot com. I did long 17 mile walks in the city, from the warehouse district to the ocean. One long walk a week, lots of short walks, lived near the Civic Center Bart Station.

I never saw any human feces on any sidewalk. And I walked thousands of miles.

I think people not having a place to poop is actually a very useful indicator of Social State.

Despite its proclaimed "wealth", SF doesn't seem so wealthy.

How can you be wealthy in general when you have people pooping on the sidewalk ?

I think the Green New Deal and the Piles of Poop on the sidewalk in various California cities are 2 signs of the thing.

I just wish there was a way to force the Dems & Repubs to sit in the same room until they start telling the truth, and finding common goals, and developing realistic plans to achieve realistic goals that benefit the general public.

Until they come out of the room with realistic project plans, they should not be allowed to leave. Or they lose their job.

That's the way it is in the commercial (non-military) sector of Silicon valley, in the old days (pre-unicorn & dot com craze).

No results, no job.

We let the asshole Dems & Repubs con us into allowing them to be paid, even when they come up with plans that sound like a Saturday Night Live parody.

They take that $175K salary a little bit too much for granted.

No shortage of those who made similar statements about the original new deal.

Surprised to see you think government controlled by their corporate masters can or will solve any problem facing the serfs.

I always get a kick from people who believe giving the government (higher taxes) more money is a good idea. They are totally corrupt and couldn't manage a little league team without screwing it up.

some things work, some things don't
wind is a naturally evolving technology that is becoming the cheapest electric power source
a little prodding here and there in the right places can speed it up
not sure i will call it green, it will have its own warts
but on the whole a winner that we need
or better nuke but that ain't happening

The social security check I got this month leads me to believe you
are mistaken. Which does not mean I would not wish you a fine

The US gov was WAAAAAY more solvent in the 1930's.

Basically zero debt.

Now they're borrowing money to pay the interest on the debt.
If one is looking for a reason the change nothing whatsoever,
that will do as well as any.

1st of, no country is better than the USofA.
better at what? just being a country? there are plenty of countries that are better than the US in many relevant categories.

2nd, we have the BEST healthcare in the world. Just about everything comes from us.
you're confusing best with most expensive.

We lead the way in medical advances...not socialist countries using our products.
those advances have been historically paid by taxpayer funded research through the National Institute of Health...... AKA SOCIALISM

Free markets lead to innovation...no government run anything can 'make' innovation.
the medical and pharmaceutical industries are anything but free markets. they are oligopolies.
