Basically, this is a coordinated smear campaign. The Insider and Vice pieces were both published on the same day (Nov 28, 2017) and the Huffpost and Fox9 pieces were published within 24 hours of each other (October 6 - 7, 2020). Each story recycles the other stories. And, these stories say little of his ethics but simply focus on his failure.

I think the first suspect for 'who's flying UFO's in our atmosphere' should be the earthlings. And, of all the earthlings, I'd put the humans at the top of the list. Other than that, I have no idea (many ideas).

I guess it's official: Officer Sicknick died of natural causes. Sorry to destroy anyone's hopes that he was murdered by Trump supporters. Meanwhile, National Guardsmen were shot at and injured in a drive-by after Congresswoman Maxine Waters instigated an extrajudicial insurrection.
