Hey Myst, nice selection. I went to see Ed Rush & Optical play in a club in Southampton some time '98, the sound back then was fat as anything. :D I find D'n'B is lacking something nowadays. Quite odd really, I like my Techno minimal, but my breaks raw. :sasmokin: :D

Specialk, check out www.themixingbowl.org all Essential Mixes are on there. I'd also really really recommend Tiefschwarz's Essential Mix, and the one by Erol Alkan. Otherwise there's a "James Holden live @Planet Rose" 4hr set which you shouldn't miss.

Just listening to my new records. Just got "Extrawelt - Schmedding 8000" through the mail. So dark. :sasmokin:

There are some conversation in Incidental music, Triphop, electronica thread named something like that. I made a list of music related topics in one topic. Use the search for that to find more chill/triphop/idm etc..

But Here's Ochres vault:

The Delectronica live set is amazing. Listening to that while walking outside in -27C, dead quiet everywhere and beautiful idm blasting in the phones.

Pipeline - Stereolab is awesome - at least, their older stuff. Too bad they lost one of their founders a few years ago to an accident.

Dubstep: Vex'd f*cking destroys it! I love them. Check out Cloaks too. Kode9, Burial, Skream, Digital Mystikz, Loefah (Loefah's sicker than a syphilitic clown), Darqwan... Anybody heard The Bug yet? Sort of mutant grimy cyber-dancehall, really cool production.

Also love the breakcore, techstep, choppage/drumfunk... In fact, it's all good.

Tune du jour: "Shiny Metal Rods" by Aphex Twin

I know, its a true tragedy! :badday: But at least they made some thick jams in the time they were together....

Check 'em out. I suspect you'd like 'em - they don't sound anything like Stereolab really, but sort of have the same vibe... good background music for doing stuff. They did the soundtrack for Sofia Coppola's "Virgin Suicides" and it sounds like vintage 70's Floyd redone w/ slightly happier drugs and a little cleaner production; the album Moon Safari has more of an electronic rock feel to it.
