I really wanted to know how his winter grow last year went.. he had a purple haze I sent him out there, and I would have loved to have seen it finish under the spanish sun..
today it was hella hot on the patio. 45 c. its almost too heavy the plants hit flower about 2 weeks ago. the little ptk is going for it and is just shooting out white hairs. the more ssh phenos are showing some hairs.
holly is that misty outside now? i got to try them when the winter season is over i bet they will like the sun here
peace to the people coming into this thread and having a peek.
Vend its outside (earlymistyxlowryder)xlowryder, seems like all 4 of them will finish here, only 2 weeks left at most for the slowest ones I think.
cool to see your seedlings growing so healthy and fast, one of my bogglegumxblack domina seedling has 3 babyleaves. Its a nice litle mutant ninja weed lol!
bud production has started properly, but the most pronounced one is the SCBB/PTK x PTK, looks like this one is going to be even more productive under the sun than indoors - its going to be a nice last farewell bud to that pheno - since we are dropping it - its time to look for a stronger well productive indica - since the realy high potency phenos were very low producers - but still tasty i got to say - but since we are out of space and got spare seeds of it - better leave them for later - and then make more seeds some day.
the SSHxPTK is getting 28/28
the blackdomina is growing on, still without entering flowering, same goes with the kalimist x astroboy. they have started to get some light yellowing on the leafs, and the nute doese have been kicked up to 15/15.
the heat and temps have gone up again and the plants are once again having to cope with extreme temps, the water use is really big. since we use distilled water mixed with tapwater (left with airstones for 24 H) the distilled water is getting expensive - so we have decided to cover the pots better, try to make some kind of individual shades for the pots that at the same time alow for watering etc.
we have decided for a natural shrub/bush wich branches have been sawn into mats for shading/covering fences. its going to look neat hehe
ill post pics about it when its done.
also tomorow got to build a small veg locker/light stand for 4 fluoros for vegging the clones we have. the clones got taken one week ago, and a whole bunch are already rooted - thats one weeks folks, WITHOUT hormones. so NO need to spend big bucks on fancy hormones - when u get this fast rooting phenos.
we used rockwool/perlite culinders for rooting, 100 of them cost only 9 euro so its dirt cheap - and obviously very effective.
also the clones got rooted with 2 18W OSRAM daylight fluoros in really cheap "humidomes" made out of the same empty 5 liter (a bit more than one gallon) bottles the distilled water comes in.
first heres the blackdomina x lowryder from holygong -
here are the kalimist x astroboy, aslo from same source. they have been grouped in similar veg pattern phenos - more alter they will be separated fems/males and the proper phenos will be looked into. this far its possible to see a bit of diffrence in leaf width etc, but in flowering its propably going to be interesting
next up its the side project in COCO / soil + nutes
next up its the side project in COCO / soil + nutes
These plants i got with my mate M, its the powerkush in the big orange 40 L (10gallon) pot, and the SSHxPTK in the black 12 liter (3gallon) pot. this is before todays tying session.
first about the powerkush:
the clone - that was a revegged flowering branch - started of with a whole bunch of main branches (as typical in plants revegged from a bud) and without any topping or tying until now - it has grown into a huge bush. first it is a bit difficult to see the size since its been crammed into a corner a bit - like u see in the pic from above from the roof.
u can see in the pic how the big bush has gotten crammed into a place as big as the smaler one takes up more or less.. - thats no good
it looks a whole lot diferent after tie-ing it apart a bit. - and im realizing i could have used an even bigger pot - and it would propably have grown even bigger..
in a few days the SSHxPTK will be transplanted - before it goes too far into flowering, since its kind of outgrown the space it had.
its growing slower as than the ones in coco - but its an unfair comparison since these get much less direkt light.. but looking alright
Looking great guys, cant believe how uniform those foggy astros look its gonna be cool watching them take of in flowering.
I`ll post some pics in a few days, my cam was destroyed by my youngest son the other day so I`ve just ordered a new one. This cam is gonna be a threat to use..... http://www.dpreview.com/news/0607/06071905panasonicfz50.asp
the cover on the bigger pots is in 2 layers - first layer is an aluminium cloth to reflect heat and on the outside its a natural woven fiber to give shadow - this should drop the temps inside the pots atleast 20 degrees - and the growth should get even quicker.
dark pots get VERY hot in the sun.. a blessing in winter - and a curse in summer.
the smaler pots have a double layer of light proofed plastic - should also work well.
heres a few pics of the newly built mini-veg-chamber - big enough to hold 12 half gallon pots - the 4 fluoros should be enough light to veg them for atleast a month - slowly - but we got time
this design is made for loosing heat - so there is no cover on the top - so the heat can just rise of -the walls are going to get a light proof plastic cover - and a curtain/door.
im going to build one more soon - so we can get 12 more clones in veg - thats going to be all in all 24 clones.
the 2 loose fluoros on top of the small box is the super effective cloner.. its really ugly - but it works so well.... its got a capacity of about 30 clones max - but now we got only 14 clones in there.
the plants in the veg chamber are the kalimist x astroboy on the left and the blackdomina x lowryder on the right. they still dont have any signs of flowering - so i thought we might as well give them some extra veg-ligth with fluoros during the nights. these will how ever soon go to flowering. - we want a male of both.
last pic is a photo of the rooted clones.. going to transplant them soon.
next up on the work schedule for the garden:
- transplant one of the bigger of the SSH x PTK thats now in a 3 gallon (12L) to a 6 gallon (24liter) pot
- transplant the smal 9 seedlings (astroby cross and the bd x low) to 3 gallon pots
- transplant the rooted clones to half gallon ( pots
- spray all plants, clones and all with a mix of neem, potassium soap and ecoligical insecticide
this is the latest seed-count of ours, these are the seeds we are planing to grow out in a near future :

the SSH has been transplanted to a 24L (6gallon) pot today by vend. also he gave me a call and told me the last news about the clones - all of the clones we took 1,5 weeks have rooted and are going to get transplanted tomorow to the half gallon pots. remember the clones were made with NO aid of hormones. they have just been sprayed with a 1/1 ml solution of A and B every now and then.
most likelly these clones will be ready to be taken out to flower (with a deacent size) in about a month and a half - or even earlier
today we transplanted the SSH x PTK and SCBB/PTK x PTK clones to the half gallon pots - 13 of the 14 clones got transplanted. they got put under fluoros to continue vegging.
the kalimist x astroboy have really liked the few days of contious light under the fluoros, and have now been put outside for flowering. some have preflowers - but its too early to start making counts.
aslo i sprayed down all plants today besides the clones (them later) and the PTK/SCBB x PTK because its too far into the flowering.
they dont really have any bug infestacion - but since we are entering into flowering - and the late pheno is going to take an other 80 days maybe from now so... better prepare in time.
i brought the cam today, but forgot the card hehe so no pics untill a few days.
we will keep a continuos flowering thru-out the winter - the kalimist x astroboy will finish about maybe 2-4 weeks after the SSH x PTK - and then by that time the clones of SSH x PTK will have grown a lot and will be ready for flowering and most likelly finish before x-mas
soon we will plant a bunch of seed again
the ones we are choosing between for next round is:
iguana
skunk x tw
mental floss
x-18 x DC
conquistador x astroboy
mozambique
LUI
uzb/n-ind x nagi/nep
jotake
there is possibly a new adition to the "to plant list" - lets see if i get those seeds in time cascadia (thanks bacchus!) more about them later.
got a phonecall from my co-grower about the growth of the plants - and i cant wait to go to see them - hopefully sooner than this weekend. aparantly the SSH x PTK crosses have gotten a good start on their 30 cm or longer main kolas - its been a very quick stretch in the early flowering compared with indoors - lets see how much bigger these kolas are going to get..
human nature - my homie vend lives only 10-15 minutes in car from me but im working now and im short of time - and on top sudenly i got a BIG extra job - so i am so thankfull for this co-op - and the help of vend. holygong lives up around the polar cirkle far from us in spain
holygong - woah - thats looking nice - those early riders sure look much better than any LR cross i have seen pic of ever.
the sweet blue is going to be interesting to folow same with the 2 other crosses - dark gum - sounds funny the kalimist x astroboy is gonna be fun to grow - we think we got a few females from the 6 we planted.
i just got stoned and played around with the names of the 2 crosses and thought id call them astromist (like a star cloud or something) and blackgum (obvious opium reference hehe)
