The Day America Died..

Shrubbie's PNAC is as twisted a group as we've seen in the light of day in a long time.

I know that many -true- conservatives feel a severe distaste for these fascisti swine (I initiated and organized a specific political action group opposing Shrubbie's early domestic fascist dogmatic excrement, and can assure you that Jeffersonian conservatives were not a scarcity among us).

But I find cynical humor in the posturing as is now occuring with Lindsey Graham (from S. Carolina), and others who apparently feel the heat of their latest public opinion polls, and all of a sudden seem to have finally discovered souls, hearts, independent minds, and clean undies..

I read a news clip yesterday where all of a sudden Graham is critical of Shrub's Iraq policies, and they wrote it up as though he's been a major thorn in Shrubbie's side all along!!

It was, in fact, Graham who was one that initially sought to suspend habeas corpus for detainees on Shrubbie's request/behalf, and it's Graham who approached Shrubbie about pursuing legislation (read: 'domestic detention center bills') to "deal with America's Fifth Column" (i.e., those persons who don't tow the party line, and threaten to refuse cooperation,... or even plan disruption... ) Heaven forbid that when the govvy has gone completely berserk, someone would stand up and say "Hey!! Fuck -YOU-!!"

And he's not the only naziesque bastard back-paddling like a canoeist on crack, facing a drop from a tall water-fall.

But what the hell!! It's November, man. The political season!! And the vast majority of Sheeple will devour any and all pablum that's spoon-fed to them. Especially if it's comin' from their favorite political party... er, I mean, social club... And why waste time researching the rhetoric; it'll only eat into the sit-coms, right. ;^>)

May all of those persons find their lives as devalued by others as they appear to devalue the lives of those their 'leaders' effect.

Waiting on karma sometimes makes me grouchy.... Often ending up feeling like those two buzzards on the t-shirt, sitting on a telephone wire... tired of waiting.... ;^>)

wow, I can't believe that.. one of the foundations of the free world, what a prick, is that the same freedom he's fighting for? and when I say fighting I mean recruiting mostly poor people to fight for him.. I'm so glad that shit would never fly here, I'm kinda starting to think that all the civilians with guns might end up being a good thing.. time to take back the country from the oil thuggs guys. Gotta wonder though, how brainwashed is that army? would they fire on their own people if told to? Well.. I look forward to hearing some stories over a joint from you guys who dodge the North Korea draft which you bet your ass is coming...

>>>would they fire on their own people if told to?<<<

I'm gonna' take a shot-in-the-dark guess, based remotely on personal experiences and observations, and say that the odds of trrops firing on U.S. citizens in the 'here and now,' if told to do so, would result in somewhere between a 50:50 and an 80:20 ratio of compliance. I know that's a big spread, but it's not always easy to say who might regain sanity in the nick of time either.

On the other hand, to base it on historical facts, our troops have already fired on U.S. citizens in the past.... during other times of political strife.

And when's the last time you heard of a Jr. Officer in the military -or- on a police force using their right to refuse an unconstitutional order, and saying, "I'm sorry sir. I can't obey that order. It contradicts my oath to defend the constitution of the United States of America."

Yeah, me either...

If you look at Jeffersonian governmental thinking as the base of what the American government and it’s people should be, you must ask yourself: Are we being oppressed? Do we suffer from a government gone tyrannous?

If so, this is precisely why our Bill of Rights were put into place. Any Second Amendmenter can tell you that. It’s what makes them so fired up whenever you even dream of taking their guns. I know many people who own firearms and keep extra ammunition that do not live in high crime areas nor ever go hunting. But before you begin thinking, well we’re armed, ‘let’s go.’ That course of action, especially in Today’s mindset, is a purely a defensive one. Plus, in our way of life, there is absolutely no need to retake the government by force anyway. I remain armed for such things as natural disasters. I’ve seen what happened during Hurricane Katrina. But, regaining control of our government is still something we can still do peacefully (well, at least nonviolently).

This is a very reason you don’t see a lot of uproar in the American populace. Beyond the fact most are oblivious to what’s going on right now in front of their faces. It still is actually possible, to undo all this in the very way set up for us to do so. Forcing our Representatives to take action or reverse an action. There’s one thing all elected officials are aware of. They are elected and can be removed or blocked out of the next election. When pressured, they can quickly be moved to undo things they put into law. Either that or kiss your political career goodbye. You’ll never get voted back into office as long as you live. Knowing, even if they refused, the next candidate will take their office by campaigning to do what the other failed on.

This is what needs to take place. Your local officials must be pressured into repealing all actions that have taken in place that infringe upon us as free individuals. They can be pressured, taking the right avenues.

When I was in college, I did a few internships as a local congressional aide. In such a position, you witness first hand how elected officials are persuaded. Letter writing is good, and should be done just as a show of responsive/supportive force. But, not even all their aides have the time to follow up on all correspondence sent in. Common sense tells you that. What really gets an official’s attention are invitations to dinners or gatherings. I’ve attended a few of these and have seen the impact. They’re usually brought up in front of an audience of supporters and patted on the back a little. Then they are asked about an issue and how they plan to take action. They end up confronted in front of their voters to respond. After that, representatives of different organizations will come up individually where the Rep is seated, introduce themselves as to whatever voter pool they represent and shake the Rep/Senators hand thanking them for taking action. They’d follow up by doing the same with other politicians and then publicly announce their mutual support on an issue with another politician. I remember hearing the Representative I worked for once cussing in his office about being cornered like that to take action where he didn’t want to.

Recent actions have steered this nation the wrong way and must be repealed with new safeguards put into place to prevent them from being breeched again. Our locally elected officials are the ones set up for doing that very thing. The executive office and it’s cabinets are there for the administration of the functioning of our laws, not the makers or enactors thereof. This obviously needs reclarification in our country.
