tagged-- great thread ono, shoudl be fun... lots of back breakin work, shit if you were in town,,, ide hired some mexicans. (im mexican so dont try and tell me im being racist) you could get that done in a couple of days with some good help... but I can understand if your goin to go the tortoise route,,, slow and steady.
wish i was there building that baby with you man, i'd have us digging 9 hour shifts till that space was nice and clear

We... the building owner and I have decided that rather than keep carting the dirt out we are going to shift as much as possible to other places under there... this should at least pick the pace up a little bit...
We are both getting anxious.. when we started this adventure we did not really anticipate the dirt being so rock hard... we have broken through that tough top layer by sacrificing a hammer drill to dirt gods and now the dirt is breaking up a little easier.... its starting to fracture off in layers now
Ill hopefully get you guys some update pics next weekend we are planning on hitting it hard again if the weather is crappy like the weatherman says... if it is sunny we both have a ton of work to do in our yards and I doubt we will do much on it... for the next few weeks all my spare time on sunny days will be spent on my knees in my yard.
One good thing is my closet grow will be firing up as soon as I get a few plants sexed and find a fem, just waiting on the cuttings I took to root well.... and I might be getting lucky I had a kind offer of a clone from an welln kown ICr to remain nameless and I am just waiting to hear back from them... still dont even know what my choices are lol cant wait
it will be so worth it in the end man, keep your spirits high and it will fast go by, lol.

good morning all
been a while since I updated this... we have done a bit of diggin on it... will be doing some more today... going to stop by the spot and pay my Easter respects so a bit more will get done.... the problem has been we both have large yards and vegi gardens we have to tend and when we started this project we thought we would be done by spring ...lol
we are slowly makin progress... it will be a lot longer that I expected, but by the end of summer we should be done with the digging and will be started on the building..
One good note tho... we have some digital lights we ordered ready to go in ... Galaxy 600s and Eye bulbs as well as our pond master pumps and 1 8" vortex I had laying around because in my little closet it sounded like a 747 doing practice landings.
Ill try to get more pics today but it will kinda be a family affair and I dont know if I can explain snappin pics of stuff when ppl who think we are doing foundation work are there

shit i never thought it would take that long. must be frustrating, that it's slow going. oh well all the more satisfaction for you guys when you can finally start the setup. think about renting a conveyor belt moving device that goes to up stair windows. you guys could run it horizontally to the area you are excavating. then both of you can just chuck he shit on the platform. i'm sure you could even rent a real conveyor belt from a tool renting place. once that shit is moving out on its own steam you can spend your energy solely on filling the conveyor belt with rubble. i'm sure some easy way to get the shit out would speed things up.
what a project though, even if it takes you a whole year, it will be so cool when it's done.

Yeah man it is a serious job if we could both dedicate a week of our lives to digging on it together it would go much faster.... but just guessin at it I would say the end of summer as we are only able to give up 1 maybe 2 full days each to it each month.
We started to just dumpin the debris out to the edges after haulin a ton of stuff totally out of the room it has picked up pace since then, but we are rapidly running out of space to dunp underneath
The more I sit here and think about what we have done and the amount we have left to do... I am really starting to think about hiring some ppl, not illegals but someone... I figure if I pay... its gonna cost us $4-500 to have it dug out from where it is at now

Hey MtnJohn thanks for stoppin by glad ya finally found this thread, just wish I and my grow partner on this room had made more progress for you and others to look at.
As far as the diggin goes it is me at almost 40yrs old and my buddy who is pushin 60 but he is one tuff old coot.. much tougher than me and thats it.. but we will getter'dun

BTW we didnt get any diggin done yesterday, but we did eat too much and got drunk... so all in all it was a productive day
