Sigh... I wish I'd gone all out and bought the 400W, my buds under this 150 are going to be puny as hell. Unless they just explode in the next week and a half, lol. But then I'd have had to shell out a bunch more for ventilation, ducting, etc... sigh.
you could always add another 150 and get a great coverage of the plants and spread the heat output out too.
I only use a standard £15 room fan to cool my 400w so it wouldnt take too much to take care of an extra 150w.
I do have a couple CFL's for side lighting, but of course once the plants are 3 inches + from the bulb, theyre not getting much help.
Truth is, getting anything out of this run is a victory. Next grow I'll start worrying more about technique and yield. I've learned a ton the past couple months.
That depends on your growing style, if you are training them pretty well and creating a flat canopy, then side by side pointing downwards, but if you are doing single cola plants then I'd dangle them either side of a row of 2 or 3 plants, one in front and 1 at the back. So that you are lighting them horizontally.
first grow I did was all flouros, just to get the timings down on what caused them to veg and flower etc. As soon as i saw the theory worked, I rushed out and got a 400w to play with.
Yeah, I did some LST this time around, but it was more "last second" than "low stress." Suffice it to say, my canopy is far from even. Then I had some heat issues and had to raise the lights some for a week or two, which didn't help much. I like that idea about a second 150 though, I'm going to look into that.
Amazing how well flouros work huh? I used some t5's for veg and they worked great. I believe it was the beer cups that were the problem, not the lights lol. Pretty sure I slightly bonsaied the poor girls.
