Like i said i think he was garbage and was never a contender in the guitar world. People just liked him because he was off his nut on drugs/drink/smack and just made shit up playing for hours with boring shit for other listeners that were fucked up and as i keep saying HE IS DEAD.
sad part is, I totally disagree with you, I love Jimi..and did you know that ONE of your favs (clapton) has said that no-one can play like Jimi...I think Vaughn said it too...still that was a hilarious ass reaming/opinion you gave Mezz.

Jimi took the guitar in a different direction. Somewhere the guitar had not been until then. Jimi was an innovator.
Is he the most technical guy, no. But neither are Clapton or the Edge. Whom you seem devoted to.
I'm willing to bet that a VERY small % of folks would rate the Edge, above Jimi, in pecking order.
