I'm not a conspiracy type but someone told me that Jimi didn't use heroin yet he died of a heroin od? Am I confused with Jim?

You are confused. However Jimi died, there were no traces of heroin, and no track marks.

Jim Morrison did not "officially" die of a heroin overdose, but his death is another mystery, partly because he died in Paris.

Janis Joplin definitely did die of a heroin overdose.
