In theory you don't need to add any extra Ca or Mg to GH nutes. Ask ecam mace about it, he's a living fact sheet on GH nutrient ratios. R/O filters are for people that have polluted water, high EC water or simply growers that don't want any surprises and a very stable ph. Cannabis growers who simply use hard water (excess levels of Ca and Mg) without impurities do not need to filter their water since Cannabis needs almost as much calcium and magnesium as macronutrients. I hear of growers complaining about Mg def with GH in late veg and flower, but the most probable cause of their problems is a too low ph which can cause Mg and Ca lockout, or a too high EC that also can diminish Mg/Ca uptake. Excess levels of calcium can lock out magnesium, excess levels of magnesium can lock out calcium. If you add CalMag, do it moderately and check the reaction of your plants. Calcium is important to the plant as a building block for cell (plant) growth and division, and some research studies links high calcium levels to resin (trichome) production and high THC levels. If you keep a very low ph you go in the other direction.
I remember that we talked about ripen. I'm basically against ripen abuse, since running it longer than the prescribed 10 last days of the grow gives the buds a kind of uniform ripen taste. Okay if you grow White Widow, less fun if you grow Blueberry. I do have a bottle of ripen at home though, and I use it if a grow needs to be pulled in prematurely, like for instance vacation deadline or a serious spider mite problem. Ripen contains hormones that speed up the maturation process in the flowers, but between ripen fed plants cut prematurely and plants given the time they need without ripen it's a no ripen-win, IMO. I use PK 13-14 (or equivalent flower booster) mainly in early and mid flower, when the buds form and grow.
I'll check out Swecan, haven't been there for ages...

Spank u very much Rosy, U are a true shining star! :bigeye:
Yes I'm aware of the plus vs minus of RO, but since my water is no good for drinking so I do not approve it for my plants either.

I'm using GHE One part (hard water) also, will there be any problems too? Or should I just stick to your recommendation as well?

How do u prevent spider mites? Low RH, sulfur-burner and good ventilation? (where can I buy a sulfur burner?) At what degree do they "storm" 30 +?

Thanks again for a great reply.

When you say that your water's no good for drinking, what do you mean by that? Is it polluted? Does it contain excess levels of heavy metals, industrial agriculture pollution or salts? That's what you should filter away. Hard water and chlorine added water is fine, even good for plants. The plants themselves will tell you if your water is bad, but a water analysis from Vattenverket could clear things up. Ask for it, you have the right according to Swedish law to know what's in the water you drink. I think your One Part is fine, but not too excessive supplementary doses of Cal/Mag won't hurt, I think. Preventing Spider Mites? Well, growing in a space station might keep them out. Spider Mites like heat, 32º and up and they start getting really busy. They don't like humidity, so your Rh should be high, ventilation should be good so that you don't attract fungi and mold. If fungi hits your plants, it will further weaken your plants' defense system, and mites will profit from it. I spray with biological pesticides, I use three different ones that I alternate, because sooner or later the mites will build up a resistance against these products. Then it's time to change. I hear of wonder products against mites (gas, products that suffocate their eggs, etc) but they're none to buy around where I live. Misting and foliar feeding a lot sets the mites back. Every now and then I take my motherplants into the shower and blast them with cold water, that's a spider mite nightmare, works better than any product that I've used.

not to mention the Scandinavian unity.. Wont happen coz the Danes keep stealing snow from Sweden.. Swedes in turn try to steal our shit like sauna and motherfuckin father x-mas.. The Norwegians bogart all the oil and are in NATO and the Finns well we're like broken Scandinavian ppl with baltic or hungarian blood or sumtin to fuck it up, not to mention we are weird and still mad about all the hockey games... My point? Is this will never kick..

Bring back the Finnish forum!

:dueling:

I've opened a Swedish speaking thread (Den svenska tråden) if you want to continue the conversation in Swedish Crenata, same forum.

Ahem, I think that all these polish and other forums should also be changed to "european" "russian" "central european" "asian" "gondwana" "pangaia" or whatever forums just like us who were merged under the same roof...how does that sound?

chronic x ww flowers about 9 weeks..sativas tend to yield more, so it was not in our best interest to cut down the flowering period. Taste and resin production has gone to better direction, i will show you some pics and give a smokereport when the buds are ready to be smoked..

Nice shot´s but Finnish pic´s was best :moon:

WW x Chronic sounds very good :yummy: and G13 - C99 or C99 - G13 :yoinks:

mukana forumin takaisin sieppuksessa :bat:

I hate to say it but Chronic sucks balls, the taste just isnt worth it imo, good SS takes just as long to finish and is very much better, but I guess it could be boostedf with something but that would be a serious polyhybrid then...dunno..

Not so sure I agree Chronic suck balls, just because there are a few other strains that tops it in flavour and strenght nowadays. It's still one of the most successfull plants I've worked with.

Thanks FJ and Rosy

I think today what strains i grow next.
I have couple C99 and Euphoria (Dutch Passion) seed. Those strains and Lowryder come to next grow for sure :joint:

Apollo11, Bubblegum or Bogbubble is my wetdaydream :yummy:

I wait to Euphoria very much maybe too much...

Which SS are you talking about man? There are so many...

Yeah, even good old Big Bud tastes much better than Chronic and flowers faster too. Actually I bought a pack of Big Bud last week. So in the not-so-distant future we will see which one is better.

I won't be growin them side by side because I didn't like the Chronic that much. My Chronics yielded on avarage 70g per plant. It would have been more but one runt in the bunch dropped the average score. So if Big Bud yields the same in less time and tastes better I see no reason to grow Chronic ever again. Potency-wise they should be pretty even if I remember correctly. It has been many years since I grew BB so I can't remember exactly how potent it was.

As for Chronic, I got my hopes up for this Chronic x SweetTooth#4 cross I made. It should taste better, well at least I hope so. It doesn't matter if its a polyhybrid, because you only need one good plant for mother.
