Pics from this morning down the street this morning. Those are hand rails on the docks. On the saginaw river.

I have a good friend in Hope who lost her house and everything in it.
She's alive and out of harms way but shes devistated .
I 'm trying to help her all I can.It sucks what people are going through in Mi.Makes you realize how silly all this fighting in here really is.

Yea, many Cubans are used to the benefit of the government and that to me is wrong. Many "escape" and try to find refuge in a safe country. Everything I have read indicates most Cubans are not happy which leads me back to my original question. Is education more important than freedom, and what is the point of a great education if you can't use that education to benefit your life or make your own life choices? I don't think Gry wants to answer the question but perhaps you will. Here is one of the articles I read from a source many of your friends here use often.

That is included in the link I provided. I think every system needs improvement, including the US where people are enslaved to debt and allowed to die because they cannot afford medical care.

Perhaps if your perspective is to live a simple life with your medical and survival needs provided, then Cuba may be not that bad. I know their organic farms are among the best in the world.

Individualism is peeing in the swimming pool. In a truly free society, if you kept it up, you’d probably get drowned.

I do at times find my self wondering why there seems to be such preoccupation with
one-upsmanship. That's I how can tell I am due for another dose of extract.

even more in the Covid19 posts.

definitely not a time to be righteous.

but in the US, politics is like a team sport.

would like to see the politicians doing some of that extract, live on TV.

Wish her luck. My old high school is now a shelter for flood victims. I cannot imagine what some people must be experiencing right now. Some whole neighborhoods got erased. I did hear at least one friend of ours house was completely under water. All the roads in my country that cross that river are closed.. Wife said someones 8 mile drive home took 70 miles of driving. Luckily they lived somewhere to go back to.

There’s power in collaboration. It’s a union. Give and take. So many just want to take, using liberty as their excuse.

These floods are in my neighborhood. I would guess several people I know just lost everything. Crazy shit. The worst is 40 miles north.

that sucks man, hope you are doing alright. Glad I no longer live near big rivers, as a kid it seemed like every year or two we would have some flooding emergency and all have to go fill sandbags.

There's this big damn dam (lol) up the mountain from Boulder, co. Its a giant steep canyon all the way down to the city, someday I could see it going really badly. Flash floods freak me out.

I am familiar with that dam. I spent some summers being a hippy in the woods above nederland. I used to ride my bike down magnolia and just get going screaming fast. If that dam ever broke Boulder would be so extremely fucked.

Many places across North America are set ups for this disaster. Time.

I like it up there, from what I gather it is a shadow of its former self, hard drugs/crime and such messing it ul. My dad hung out there quite a bit back in the day as his bff lived in Boulder so we make the drive up when he comes to visit. Always go the pioneer inn and he tells me the same tales of what a wild place it was...and well now they have a kids menu and its just a tourist trap. Issues aside, it is a pretty nice location and on the list of possible retirement places.

the only way to change it, is by getting very specific, and naming names.

and when it comes to control fraud, that means naming Jewish people.

which is what Americans have been trained to be afraid of.

we're not talking about who is responsible for street crime in Chicago. though it seems people don't have trouble talking about ethnicity in that situation - in many cases, it's black folks shooting each other.

how many of you think our Western governments should be back-stopping Hedge funds ?

like the FDIC - except for hedge funds ?
