It's not a question of right vs. Left. It's Right vs. Wrong now. Many people think we are in a soft civil war now. I hope things de-escalate but it doesn't look good. A Trump 2020 win, and the likely fall of heads of federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies, may just be to many losses for the left to handle.

This week we had 2 debates where the vast majority of the candidates said extreme things like decriminalize illegal border crossings, free healthcare for all illegal aliens, Raising middle class taxes to fund benefits for illegal aliens, late term abortion. these were the worst case scenario the slippery slope stuff the right has been taking about for 20 years. The left said your crazy, no one wants government healthcare, no one wants late term abortion, no one wants open borders, no one wants to raise middle class taxes, no one wants illegals to vote. Now, I will commend the Democrats for finally exposing the evil for what I always knew it was.

Yup your party spent 2 nights promising everything we have been worrying about for decades. They are making no attempt to hide the insanity, they are broadcasting it on national television.

On a lighter note, omg the material for Trump 2020 is writing itself.

I agree after watching the debates, it is almost a given that Trump will win. There were some glimmers of intelligence; Buttigieg and Harris but the struggle to out-radical each other was pathetic. Of course in retrospect the GOP debates were not dissimilar.

America needs an independent more than ever. Both parties are royally screwed. The GOP preaches fiscal responsibility but spends like a sailor on leave. They preach cleaning things up and nationalism but give the keys to the vault to big business. They trick the public by throwing them a few crumbs just like the business run government has always done.

The USA needs a leader not afraid to step out of the machine.

Pacifism is the way to go. However..

My wife's grandparents remembered how to speak english 45 years after the war. They had British and American flyers staying in their attic on their way to the coast. Her other grandfather was a political prisoner in a german prison called Breendonk. Everything in Breendonk is 100% as it was. Seeing a place like this changes your perspective forever.

I've also visited one of the intact camps back in the early 70s. The tiled dissection tables sloped with a trough down the middle to drain blood into a vessel at the end is what sticks in my mind. Back to the upcoming election, If I had previously voted for and supported a candidate that was also supported by the American nazis it would give me serious reservations about future support.

There’s LOTS that goes into that question.

First answer is, there might not be one. It’s happened before that we haven’t had one. I’m going to assume you mean “...if trump loses in ‘20“. In that case, ”if” is a toss-up, and when would be clearly right after “the media”(tm) calls the race for his opponent - or if he declares martial law as a last-ditch effort to force the military.

You can expect regional bombings of black churches, businesses, neighborhoods, Somali-style raids on majority-black apartment buildings, immigrant communities, the establishment of well-armed patriot gangs, and a targeting of support/infrastructure in those communities.

How the pushback will look, I can’t say, but I can make a few observations:

When the pushback comes , it will most likely target those who ”wear the gear”, real or fake: courts, jails, wrong-headed, loan sharks of all kinds, roving bands of coal-rolling gun-wavers....

It remains to be seen, frankly: there’s lots of pent-up desire on “the right” to USE their arms and their “liberal hunting licenses”, but they think they’re the vast majority: when they decide it’s time to start shooting, they may be very surprised to find out how few are on their side and Howe fast they go down.

They’re ‘brave’ when they’re the only one(s) in the room with guns, but otherwise, they yell and call names, make threats and spout their distilled version of the talking points they remember.

Once they begin to realize how wrong they really are, the pressure to fight will escape them.
