I worked briefly at the Regional Command of RAAF in the Blue Mountains in the early 80s. We used to buy hash oil from a guy there. Had no idea it might have been imported?Laotion Sticks !
The plot thickens ...
The leaf stogie you can have all for yourself . Yuck !
A buddy of mine was in Australian Air Force .
He talked about hash oil from Malaysia that was imported by Air Force guys .
I don't do that because the way things are organized I don't have to keep the flowers for long periods, it's gone long before they have the time to lose some of their qualitiesDo you vacuum seal the jars you’re not going in/out of often? It would store your flowers much longer if you dedicate a longer term storage jar(s) you pull a vacuum on and then others you use regularly especially if you go in w proper moisture
It must have been a very stressful trip because Thai police didn't play with drugs before legalisation, it might have some negatives to legalize but it also frees us of those situations where our life or years in jail are on the line. I'm still living in prohibition land and it's not fun to be outlaw, it has lost its charm a long time ago, nothing romantic in jail or police stations when you have the cuffs on your wrists. Those that know .
@funkyhorse thanks for letting the conversations flow . It has been interesting and entertaining . I look fwd to more annecdotes .
OK a Thai weed story ...
I decided to take a train from Phitsanulok to Chiang Mai .
I packed the cpl of grams of weed I had in a piece of newpaper and folded it up . When I got to the railway station district there were cops hanging around . So I discretely placed the paper with the stash in my under wear .
Went and bought a ticket and boarded the train . I looked around for a seat and saw a Buddhist Monk sitting alone . I thought I would sit with him and try some conversation . I sat down and the guy started scowling at me . I smiled and said sawadee kap , the local greeting . He didn`t return the gesture . Instead called the porter over and spoke to him . Next thing the porter is telling me to move out of that seat . I`m like WTF ?? Then the porter guy points to a sign over head that says monks in these seats only . OOPS !
So I move to another seat and give my stash a nervous feel to check it is there. Then I realise it aint there.
I had it when I boarded the train I know that . So I start trying to look around on the floor for the piece of paper with the weed inside . Can`t see it .
Then I remembered the porter guy has done a cleaning sweep with a broom and dust pan the length of the carriages . FCK he must have found it . I ask him did he find some folded paper on the ground ? He goes and looks in the rubbish bin and extracts my stash . I am hawk eyeing him . If he opens it I could be in deep trouble . He returns and hands it back to me . The next few hours every station we stopped at I worried the police might drag me off the train .
Made it to Chiang Mai . Got off the train and didn`t hang around . Alls well that ends well .
This is very interesting topic, I'm sure some Thai and other in east asia learned to make some hashish as well, they had the material to transform and had certainly heard about Indian Charas at least centuries ago. So no reason for them to not make hashish as well, maybe the weather in those region is so humid the hash is not the nest way to keep the resin so it never became popular , I don't know, just speculate but in any places with cannabis growing I think some had the idea to make hash with it.A sailor friend of mine bought hash in Thailand circa 78/79 and gifted me a few grams. It was one of the finest I've ever had.I have no idea about the country of origin....but It was very very good!!

I have never tested oil made from Lebanese hash, I know the Moroccan version only, it's strong stuff, the high can be nice but I've never had some with a pleasant taste, it was pretty disgusting to smoke but it sent me in orbit each time.@funkyhorse

I was born and raised at my grandparents farm too.North Spain.Thank you @funkyhorse to allow all the digressions, this thread is a pleasure to participate in and a lot of great stories and infos.
Fun fact, my grand father and after uncle grew tobacco for decades on the family farm in south of France, aftert WW2 the state gave money to farmers to rip off the grapes used to make wine to grow tobaco, it was a very controlled crop and the seeds were distributed to farmers by customs services. It's as illegal to grow your own tobacco than growing cannabis, the state get so much money from taxes on cigarettes they don't let you be autonomous.
