My case, I planed in advanced my trip to Thailand. That meant for me to see what was available in terms of genuine Thai genetics because I wanted to bring it back and grow it. I started seeing Prempave being mentioned by Zomia and then I was almost hypnotized by the way Zomia was promoting all of Prempave lines.
Because I hate middle man’s, and after seeing Arjan visit her farm, I said well maybe I can go there myself.
Still in Canada while doing my research so my perspective on the lines offered is purely based on what I see on social media and what Zomia was promoting on their discord and later Prempave goes hardcore on instagram…
I checked her page and price for seed looked steep for someone that just got bumped by Arjan and has a promoter like Zomia…
Almost no one had grown her stuff until GrandPaMilenial grows her stuff and I think at least 1 grow that’s it. I am very convinced that she is legit.
I then find this thread and FunkyHorse has lots to say about it, and I respect that.
I had mix feelings but I still regarded her product as the most representative of Thai landraces at this time in the current moment.
Perspective is key.
Once in Thailand because I knew I wasn’t going North I made the order and gambled 100$ worth of weed, from someone I saw from instagram that has her WhatsApp number for anyone to text an order.
That’s ballsy.
Fast forward all the days smoking her flower and all the documentation I shared. The actual experience of being in Thailand and smoking as much herb as I could and specially from Prempave gave me my own perspective on her gear, as well as KD and the elders farm in Phangan, the Bangkok joint. I NOW have my own experience that reshaped my perspective changing the optics on how I look at Prem genetics and flower, I don’t have to place myself anymore in someone else’s experience to forge my opinion.

Now, I can’t be fooled. I wasn’t fooled before but marketing is marketing and it takes a clear vision to avoid being sucked into believing someone elses truth, specially when they are trying to sale you AAA and when you get the thing it’s a C-.

My point is that unless you smoke it, you won’t understand her flower. And because I grow it, and smoke it, I understand the flower.

My truth is based on personal experience, I thought it was legit, now I don’t. In fact Im more convinced because they blindly believe in the King, they would never question him. So most of Thailand is undoubtedly growing King Rama CBD promoted heritage lines.
King says these are the heritage lines we represent and want to preserve, and so does a population growing it and trying to promote it… can’t compete with Westerners that have decades of strain creating and growing.
It’s like going to a gun fight with a water gun.
Legalizing weed only to promote CBD lines as heritage and then allow farang weed to hyper regulate your Thai lines to non existent???

The narrative Prem has is that people don’t wanna grow Thai landraces because the westerners gear is on demand. Sure landraces aren’t the greatest of all herb they are raw, but Thai sticks were raw and grown 50 years ago by people that had no western intervention, how the hell did it go from everyone smuggling Thai sticks to no one cares about Thai herb because people want gelato 2.0 at 25$ a gram? In 50 years??

Something is clearly not adding up. Why is the weed so BAD and no one is talking about it? Why are we so complacent?

@funkyhorse we had(still have) roach clips in NZ. We used to pinch oily little roaches from the parents roach stashes and get high af on them.

@Donald Mallard had a few sessions in Hyde park(edit belmore park, brain fart) back in the day, lots of junkies back then. Remember one night smoking up when the bush fires were burning and the full moon was blood red. A big ass bat flew past the moon and made the bloody bat man symbol, everyone buzzed out on it

@Elmer Bud - The NH crosses I have gotten from Wally are awesome, solid yields.
I really enjoyed the NHxZ99 for me it was racy and energetic.

Pretty lucky to go hang with Yosammy, his yields look insane.

I don't think I know too much about the Dutch genetics or anything, only from forums.
When someone says for example - All of Thailand or whatever has been touched by Dutch genetics... Is that like NL5 Haze or what is it....do we just tell from the structure or yield?

Viet black - I'm not sure I can word it properly - It was just a constant feeling like in the movies where someone
eats a brownie for the first time. I don't know why I re-ordered the vietblack to be honest....maybe a breeding tool. Never in my life have I just sat there staring at a wall just saying "fuck....." No panicking or racing thoughts just me thinking I'm in some other realm...corners of my vision seemed darker.

The description with the nervous sweating is what I actually want to find in some lines I have.

I ran Kunnanurra Sunshine from OJD originally from Nevil supposedly.
That was impressive gear, really good yield, nice product, shame I didn't keep enough stock of it.
No real evidence of the master kush in it except for maybe alittle better yield maybe?
Not racy or paranoia like effect. More like....idk a clean euphoric feeling.

I had a Kush / Mullum / Thai from another Ozzie guy .
I made seeds and crossed it to another Mullum hybrid . That was about the time I left for Thailand the 1st time .
Next thing I hear Kangativa has been busted .

Going to tourist places and meeting tourist dealers / growers you will get tourist weed .

High CBD being Medical is a con all drug cannabis was and is medical and has been for 1000s of years, Hortafarm was where the birth of high CBD started the cannabinoid that didn't get you high was born. Governments liked the idea of cannabis not getting people high, that was its appeal.

What I didn't expect was stoners falling for CBD as medical, and High THC only being recreational and what no one talks about are the side effects of CBD, one being its interaction with pharmaceutical medications.

People forget most are in this for the money, like your elite hyped strains that are replaced 6 months later with a new one.

The main reason for the demise of most long flowering sativas was Holland and their focus on developing faster flowering plants that unfortunately most people wanted.

Seed breeders produced products that the market wanted, most people live in countries and locations where they can't grow the old sativas to maturity.

The legality of the plant also forced most people indoors, and even today in places like California where it's legal some people still want and expect a 55-day flower.

Very few people still grow sativas consistently, and most that now want to grow them would if they could find seed that truly represented the old Thais or Colombians, and the rest would end up hybridising them or grow a few out and go back to the faster flowering lines.

This thread and threads like it show that there are few hardcore sativa heads amongst us.

I have had 2 smokes of Nevil`s Haze that had the impending doom vibes .
One from Wally and the other from Yo Sammy in Holland . Both had really strong head and body effects . But just nasty feelings that some thing was about to go wrong .

The Yo Sammy NHz is a cut that came in the set with AG13 and HPHz from his Haze cartel .
I smoked a joint one morning at Sammy`s house and started to get a spiral of dark paranoid thoughts . It must have shown on my face because Sammy said are you OK bro ? I told him no I wasn`t and was freaking out a little . He said you gotta treat it like a trip she can have a dark side .

The other time I was driving on a highway . I had been smoking hash and weed from Wally all day and I was getting bored . So I thought maybe I`ll change it up and try this Nevil`s Haze he gifted me .
Half a spliff and I am not feeling happy . Nervous and sweating . Checking my eyes in the mirror paranoid that if I meet cops I will be busted on sight . Same sort of feelings when I arrived home as well . Impending doom or self depreciation and gloom . No fun .

I know well this impending doom feeling you talk about, I'm an anxious person, it's in my nature and I can't do anything about it so it happened more than once to me to have this type of extreme reaction, with strong sativas, pure or hybrids. The worst experiences were always while in Holland after having smoked some type of Haze like Neville Haze or NL5Haze. I remember the only time I visited the Positronic shop in Amsterdam you could smoke the buds they had on some plates if you bought a coffee, they could not sell the flowers only give it but to be able to have it you had to buy a beverage, at least that's how I remember it, maybe I was so high already I didn't understand the real process. Anyway they had a haze on a plate and told me it was their strongest this day to test, so being young and dumb I rolled a joint with those flowers they were not looking this dangerous to me, my god how wrong I was, while in the shop all was good, I was in a comfortable and friendly setting so only good vibe but once I got out with my buddy to go to another seeds seller the paranoia hit me like a brick wall, it started because I was almost ran over by a bike and a tram not being used to travel the Dutch streets, after this I was scared to death of every moving objects and I felt my eyes were so red they could have bleed. I went to the hotel room to recompose myself, my friend who had not smoked some of the haze joint because at this period he didn't want to hear about anything sativas, he had grow up in Africa, and once in France for his studies he only smoked hash or indicas, he laughed at me so hard this day.

The High Elmer's describing comes from the Colombian side of Nevil Haze and what the old Columbines affects were like. The effect comes on prity fast, and the intensity is all at the front end of the high, it then backs off to a strong high with a mix of stone and the flower look of those NH are a dead giveaway of a Colombian flower too.

I like the Thai side of the NH the high takes around 30 min to fully hit the high is as close to acid as it gets in weed comes at you in waves just like an old school Thai would.

Bit like saying yeah that`s the typical effect of Australian weed . Which you know is diverse .

I had some Colombian Gold x O Haze that was blissful . Felt like I was floating on a cloud . Colombian Black x Ohaze was more intense head buzz . Zamal x OHaze was like caffiene .

A friend got some seeds from a Senegalese coworker. He told me that the man was neither aware nor concerned about landraces, sativas or different types of weed. For him it was only weed and he didn't care about the strain.
Many strains of vegetables are now scarce and endangered due to more profitable new strains or hybrids.
In a greedy and globalized world there is no safe place for such a promiscuous plant as Cannabis. The plant biology also doesn't help for small scale preservarion of the genepool.

So saldy true NLD will eventually disappear. Specially if customers not only don't reject couchlocking fast grass but they love it.

Some areas are traditionally Khmer / Cambodian . Others are Laos . Then another ethnic group the Lana peoples in the NW . 3 southern provinces are majority muslim and were part of Malaysia until the middle of last century .

I have been growing Thais since 79 and just because a set Thai line may have been grown in a set area means nothing, lots of amazing Thai was sourced and found in Bangkok, most of it was in fact.

Brokers had people buying from the farmers, it then was sent back to Bangkok graded and packed and loaded on ships for export, that's how it worked.

What I don't know too much about is how the Thai that was grown between Chang Mia and the Burma border in the Golden triangle was dealt with, did the CIA fly it out or was it also sent to Bangkok, no way of finding out really.
