Thai weed from Thailand

Sorry, not sure how I got on that tangent. I guess it was the bit about how most Thai's are excited about the opportunities created by "legal" cannabis.
the folks making money from it seem to be ones that were not particularly struggling in the first place though ,
in the north east , where our favorite thai sticks hailed from,
things are still the same and no one is getting rich from legal cannabis.

the other sad part is plenty of westerners have jumped on the band wagon and are growing weed to supply shops , or hash , growing modern western varieties , and
complaining its too hot and they need to grow indoors with aircon ,
which of course increases their overheads , making the end price at the shop more for the consumers , who yes of course are also western tourists generally ...

The way it is certainly isnt ideal as i see it, but at least there is cannabis freedom , so its a start..

The cannabis law reform in Thailand started with medical, then the idea was for local people to grow and also be able to sell it back to supply the medical market so they could earn a living. The Thai government did not want foreign companies or start-ups having any involvement, that was a good idea.

People have got around that by partnering up with Thais, that's why people like Aryan are heavily invested there now.

I would love to see some of the old villages or areas where traditional Thai was grown, and the sticks made form co ops and re produce the old Thai sticks then brand it and then offer that to both the locals and tourists and even export it out as there is a huge market.

I'm not so sure that it would sell all that well. You have to remember that most "average" consumers are incredibly ignorant about cannabis in general. This phenomenon seems to be growing evermore with social media rotting everyone's brain, and promoting the new "shiny" thing.

I wish things weren't this way, but here we are.

A lot of people on forums like this may not have ever tried them, but they have all heard about the legendary Thai Sticks, and people have heard their Dads and Uncles and so on talk about them also it would have to be up there with some of the most famous of the old school cannabis.

But the Thai cannabis needs to live up to the quality of the past Thai if they hope to ever gain a foot hold in a market full of hyped lines.

IDK, the younger generations now are pretty oblivious to anything that isn't force fed to them by their preferred social media empire. I hope you're right.

A small example; my son, who has been around cannabis a fair amount since his teenage years. I kept the grows hidden from him until he was 15-16 or so, but after that we didn't hide too much from him. So he was exposed to a lot of cannabis conversation, but didn't pay much attention as I'm learning now. I've had so many conversations with him after he shows me something he got from whatever random place, where he's all impressed by all the wrong things. For a while his big thing was "the most dense" weed he could find. That's all he cared about, because somehow someone got it in his head that dense meant good. Then it went to "cookies" this, and cookie that.

This is from a kid who grew up in a house that mostly smokes extreme NLD types during the day, and Chems and Kushes after dark. I don't know that he even knows what a Thai Stick is...

I can get a bit cynical sometimes.

I have a similar experience with my son. He is after a relaxing indica couchlock. I have given him some pretty good trippy sativas but he hates them. He's mostly given up now which seems to suit him.
