It's amazing how so many people's experiences were so similar. I remember the Thai sticks becoming scarce in the late 70s and early 80s. It started to arrive to me as compressed buds, obviously bricked. The brick maybe wasn't quite as good, it had seeds and stems. But it was still the best weed on the planet.
I used to buy some, and sell half to fund my next purchase. People would totally underestimate it, even back then when hash plant weed was rarer. Hash plant weed hits almost instantly. People would smoke a hit or two of Thai and 10 minutes later they would complain they weren't getting high. They would take another hit, and WHAM! They had smoked too much. The newbies would sometimes turn down a purchase, I'd laugh because I knew Thai weed would last four times longer than decent weed, maybe longer since people tended to hoard it. They would call back later begging for it. It is not only super potent, but it is a unique experience. Thai weed taught me the art of titration. More is not always better.
Of the plants seen in my search for plants closely related to the Thai experience, this is a phenotype that looked like the plants from Thai seeds that I tried to grow as a kid.
Thanks Gypsy for spreading rare seed around. You have given me hope of resurrecting something similar.
