Good vibes Nevlu bravo and thanks for the show, nice touch and luck connection with your plants it seems! :tiphat:
Well thanks a lot and thank you for joyning in
The plants allways taught me more than any book
My doctor made a joke to me many years ago when i told him i grow cannabis as medicine he said: you tell me if the plants start speaking to you
I laughed but was thinking but they do. I chose not to tell him😂

But for real i think we never stop learning as long as we stay open for it

really nice Nevlu!
And really sweet with all your observations. It´s what makes and thread worth reading.
Is the squirrel tail from seed or cutting? But really nice the Thai government will protect their strain via UNESCOs heritage list.
Hybrids are truely awesome , but more so the strains from the past. The building block from the past and not to forgot the future. Lovely to see your journey. Keep up the good work :smokey: :smokey:
Thank you very much 💚 very motivating

Yes the first two bought at the market was cuttings but i think they where not the squirrel
However my wife ordered some seeds from isan and i think they maybe are, at least closer
They will be in my next post and it’s what im growing now

Yes i really hope they preserve everything now before foreign pollen takes over

Lovely to have you along the ride
I’m very humbled by anyone showing interrest in what i do
😎✌️

Beautiful Thai plants.

On hermaphrodites; dimodz is correct that as a general rule you shouldn't breed with them. However, I grew up in the 70s and a lot of the cannabis back then was seeded. It was annoying picking out seeds but the cannabis was fine, only minor differences between seeded and unseeded in terms of effect. Seedless sold for more as you'd get twice as much smoking material. Over time seeded cannabis has been demonised as being somewhat inferior.

Apart from Thai sticks, the best cannabis I ever had was a fully hermaphrodite plant. I suspect it was Thai in origin as we got lots of Thai in Australia at the time. The effects were incredible, so happy and positive, you would laugh for hours. Hermaphrodite or not, I would crawl on broken glass to have that back again. It was stolen unfortunately. So when I read of people discounting a cannabis strain due to hermaphrodite tendencies I often wonder if we haven't actually thrown out something good?

I hope you Thai growers aren't in a hurry to embrace overseas varieties at the expense of your own, although it is probably already too late.
Thank you 😊
Yes i agree they’re very beautiful

Oh really i can i imagine you had some very special strains back then
Stolen huh, i hope they choked on a seed, a hermie one to be precise🫣

Mee too, the best strain i ever had, had hermie traits
Blue moonshine (DJShort) superpotent oily flowers of pure candy, narcotic but kind , comfortably num, it would allways throw out nanners the last weeks of flowering, but i think the only seeds i got from it was from another accidental hermie ruderalis skunk with 50% auto phenos

When i got busted(once again) i lost it and all i had left was hermie seeds from this cross
I grew them out and got one pure strawberry candy strain a manageable hermie with a clear high allmost like a thai, but cleaner kinder effect
When stoned from other herb this would wake me up and take away the heavy effect, very strange never felt anything like this since then
The other plant i got was a strong lime stinking looked and felt like a pure kush indica effect
I had theese for years, i think my friend maybe got seeds still?

So maybe your right that the genetics lost something good with the hermie witch hunt

You made me think a lot about this, maybe i should be more worried about indicas or hybrid accidentally spreading pollen, instead of a few male flowers In the Thai strains

When i get males from foreign strains in the future i’m gonna be carefull and keep them separate, in a tent or something

Yes this is the ganja they’ve grown here for a loong time, my wife say they use this for tom yum soup aswell.
My mother in law got flower and seeds from local growers here
First time i got unpressed flower and it doesnt look like much, barely visible resin but damn the effect was strong headbuzz not a clearheaded high, the bud was a bit moist when i got it, but no visible mold

The legal situation here is still not clear, last thing i heard was that its illegal to sell flowers now, so a lot of changes. In bangkok in khaosan road they had stands everywhere and some shops also was starting to pop up
I went to pattaya couple months pre legalisation and found a ganja bar in walking street, they sold edibles and drinks i ate a brownie that was way to strong 😂 still very high the morning after

Oh yeah nice to travel here i love this country too and the food omg😋😋
South is very beautiful, i went to phuket 13 years ago, wonderful place scored some brickweed but it was not so good, very hard brick with lots of seeds

Ja fint i norge, spesielt kysten
Har også en drøm om å kjøre kystveien nordover, ser fantasisk ut 👍✌️
keep up your efforts man, I assume with legalization in your area that a flood of western hybrids will predominate. This is very sad as I along with others have always felt that there is something special in the old landrace tropical Sativa's.

Thanks man yes it’s allready happening big time, and some started long time ago
The KD strain is thought to be a cross between a Thai sativa and Lsd strain, but not shure

It’s still pretty easy to get pure sativas here

I agree, certainly very unique and diff from a lot avaliable on the market and i’m pretty sure they wont be the same if grown indoors or even in a diff climate outdoors
So many variables with soil, water innsects nibling on them and the sun being strong as fuck, even the air is very different
This all changes the taste and feeling of the flower
New growing methods and soils will change them too, but maybe some in a goodway?

Squirrels tail strain

I dont know the origin of this strain, i think its a cross with thaistick and some high cbd indica long times ago
Maybe some of you know or can share your thoughts about this

This is my current grow and i’m very exited about what i found in this one so far

Very high medical breeding potential in this one as it has high both Thc and Cbd, said to be about 50/50 ratio, but from what i can smell and see there are some differences
i’m guessing some phenos higher in Thc and some in Cbd
They have done some research on this strain, but i haven’t seen any lab results on this one, so i dont know what level the other cannabinoids are at
The oils and terps are starting to develop now, but first back to the beginning

Large seeds from Isaan region
planted in mid july

View media item 18706712

They grew slowly because my soil choice wasnt very good, but i was on a budget and i bought 100 bags for 1000 baht, very cheap
The soil is from sugarcane production and is very heavy, after a few waterings the soil got hard and didnt allow much oxygen to the roots
However i’m amased by how strong theese plants are and they pulled through, just a lill slower than normal and i had to let them dry long inbetween waterings
At the same time the sun is crazy strong here the daytime temp is usually allways over 30 so in small pots they need some cover on top anyway
Next time i will try a covercrop with living soil
Thanks for the tip @dimodz 👍
I have a long time to read up on this unntil next time i come to Thailand

I made a deal with a local charcoal producer in exchange for some infused coconut oil, i got to clean a site after he finished burning
Mostly powdered charcoal
I only had a scooter to carry it, so it took me two days
I mixed in soil when potting to larger pots and it made the soil better, still far from a good canna soil, but they grew better with this because the drainage got better
The rest of the charcoal was given to my wifes durians and spread in her food forest

Hey man you grow nice plants.
Charcoal needs to be precharged before use. Like mixing it in a fresh made compost bin and let it all composte together. Precharge with pee and then fermenting or composting also works.
The charcoal works like a sponge and can suck up the nutes in the soil when mixed in fresh. When it's precharged all possible nutes are already stored in and it's colonized by micro organism.

Hey man thanks for the tip
I had to learn this the hard way 😅 the charcoal helped a lot to the drainage of the soil but leached a lot of nutrients and leaves where yellowing a bit earley
Im still amazed by how robust ang forgiving this strain is
Next time i will only add this to compost

Hey folks ✌️
Sorry about the delay
Had to go to my home country to work and still stuck here
In the process of leaving Thailand we lost 3 of 4 cats to some strange virus/plague
Even the small kitten died😢
The only cat surviving was the unvaccinated one
The other cats got vaccine shortly before they died

However back to the plants
We had to leave more than a month before they finnished
Luckily my mother in law took care of them and harvested em all, dried them and put in freezer and saved the seeds, so i get to sample them all when i go back

I tried some different things to counteract my mistake by adding fresh charcoal to the soil
Tried digging an overripe banana in the pot
View media item 18710321

I also made some ffj from banana and raw sugar
View media item 18710319View media item 18710318

Let it sit for a week and then strained it
Mixed it with the water

I also made som nutrient tea from soil and wormcastings

The one plant that grew best and got biggest i had in a small 10l pot, made some holes under the pot and dug a hole in the ground wich i filled with soil and worm castings
Then i placed the pot on top of the hole so the roots grew under the pot into the ground

The plant was the smallest when put for flower and ended up being the biggest one in the end
