The seed market in Thailand is growing fast and many thai strains are avaliable at affordable prices, but a lot of scams also, i ordered purple thai Kd strain, but from a fake fb account
I finally found the original breeder and will try to order again

Sativa are my main goal here, but i also want to do some hyb crosses down the line, been my dream for over 20 years😄✌️
I can get that, but it is really important to keep your Thai strains as pure as possible. It's funny that in Thailand people seem to want hybrids, and in the rest of the world some of us are finding hybrids to be lacking in many areas. I have nothing against hybrids and use some personally but the more pure strains are much more interesting and diverse. Just my opinion of course.

Yes i agree 100% im afraid something original might get lost when strains from all over is coming to Thailand. That pollen can go long ways fast
Im going to buy a deep freezer to store seeds before i go to nor way again
Im on a budget, but im trying to get as many thai strains as possible
I also got my hands on thaistick sativa from south, my plan is to make a lot of seeds with this next time i come here
Exited to see if its different from the Nakhon Sawan type

I bought it at the local market and they called it squirrels tail strain, but it smells like lime on the stemrub and earley flower the same, a little sweet stinky when touch but no gas to mention

I bought plants two different places and both where said to be squirrel strain
I think they actually are the tiger tail strain another stronger high thc strain
The plant to the right is the lady
At the time i didnt know what it was so i called it manao or lime in Thai
The flower turned out to smell more like orange when maturing

View media item 18706717

And here is the male i bought at the market but from diff people, i also called this one manao because it had similar smell

View media item 18706955

The lady
Unfortunately a full hermie it even had separate mail branches
I had to pick off male flowers every day
But got a few nice flowers without to many seeds
Very fast flowering strain

I’m putting out a lot of stuff now, because my time in Thailand is limited and i want to show everything i got this season
I allready stayed 9 months this year so it’s time to go home and work some more

So i found this article about the original thai heritage strains

A53EDB86-08C6-4EE2-A03A-A8AB7188D7A3.jpeg

It is very similar to mine(not sure)
Flowering time around 10-12weeks

The effect on this one is a very stoney head high
Living me unable to speak properly😂
Got smoother with curing but still very red eyes dry mouth and my wife say i looked strange after smoking it
It still gave me some creative thoughts, but mostly unable to act on them or even put them into words
I hope to have this strain in the future without the hermie
A real ass ehh headkicker strain

doin`t use seeds from hermie at all why you have over 75% hermie outcome of it that doint waste your time
Yeah i know, done that in my early days
Disaster when growing indoors
No seeds collected from this one
Seems like the hermie is a very strong trait in nature they allways produce many viable seeds and spread to others, on top of that many are early finishers
Thanks for the tip tho 😁✌️

you can make fresh frozen dry sift if buds seeded or frozen dry sift with buds witch full of seeds you needs dry ice to sift better resin quality with more terps as without dry ice...

you can use screens or bubble bags for sifting

Yes i made dry frosen sift with 220 and 160 bubble bag, pressed it to hash with my fingers
very dark color
I very amazed by the smell, so different from the flower, allmost like som hash i got in amsterdam once
Think it was called nepal cream
Very different from indoor resin

I tried both drysift and ice o lator with the thaistick strain
From drysift i got a tiny lump, too small to get a hit from
In ice i got about 4 g from a hole plant
The smell was more similar to the flower when vaped, the effect was less up then the flower so i prefer the flower
The size of the resin heads is the smallest i’ve seen, most of the resin was in the last bag 45

I dont know how to get dry ice here, does it have to be fresh how does it work ?

really nice Nevlu!
And really sweet with all your observations. It´s what makes and thread worth reading.
Is the squirrel tail from seed or cutting? But really nice the Thai government will protect their strain via UNESCOs heritage list.
Hybrids are truely awesome , but more so the strains from the past. The building block from the past and not to forgot the future. Lovely to see your journey. Keep up the good work :smokey: :smokey:

Beautiful Thai plants.

On hermaphrodites; dimodz is correct that as a general rule you shouldn't breed with them. However, I grew up in the 70s and a lot of the cannabis back then was seeded. It was annoying picking out seeds but the cannabis was fine, only minor differences between seeded and unseeded in terms of effect. Seedless sold for more as you'd get twice as much smoking material. Over time seeded cannabis has been demonised as being somewhat inferior.

Apart from Thai sticks, the best cannabis I ever had was a fully hermaphrodite plant. I suspect it was Thai in origin as we got lots of Thai in Australia at the time. The effects were incredible, so happy and positive, you would laugh for hours. Hermaphrodite or not, I would crawl on broken glass to have that back again. It was stolen unfortunately. So when I read of people discounting a cannabis strain due to hermaphrodite tendencies I often wonder if we haven't actually thrown out something good?

I hope you Thai growers aren't in a hurry to embrace overseas varieties at the expense of your own, although it is probably already too late.
