TH Seeds ORIGINAL Bubblegum @ Day 56

The following are pics of TH Seeds Bubblegum at day 56. They could be chopped now, but can benefit from another four to five days. Unfortunatly, these pictures simply do not do full justice. Given the nature of the room, it was difficult to capture images from a normal angle. Plus, there is no way, unfortunatly, that you can get a wiff of the SMELL. A strong essence of bubblegum with sour-dieselish undertones. One of the best strains out there, when one is considering quality, yeild, ease of growth, and ease of cloning. Give it a try, if you haven't already.

This first shot is an attempted overhead view..but it only ended up being a shot of some of the small lower buds.

Here is an across the room shot at one of the larger buds.

Across the room shot of the monster...this one was vegged for somewhere between two and three months, and was topped vigorously. It was originally intened as a mother, but it was planted in some very poor soil. When it was up-potted from its original five gallon container it got a healthy root pruning to get rid of most of that funky soil, and to clear up any root-binding issues. It was placed in a 15 gallon pot, and left to recover for a few weeks. It was then put into flower. Here it is 56 days later.

And again.

FYI for those who may be interested:

Soil used was Moonshine Man's Mix, Version 2.0, supplimented with [during veg] Fox Farm Grow Big, SuperNova, Supercharger, and Darkenergy. In flower, they got budswell exclusivly, with a shot of epsom salts and diluted Grow Big about half way through to correct a nitrogen def. Reverse osmosis water was used for the mixs, PH corrected to 6.6. All of these ingredients are organic, save for the Grow Big, which is organic-based. However, the amount of "chemical" ferts in grow big is negligible; it smells stronger of organics than everything else that was being used, except for the Budswell, which really stinks something awful.

nnice big plants... i am considering using my 15 gallon containers but was hesitant but now i might hmmm a few of my kush moms will do great in them

THs's Bgum is one of those strains that makes it really difficult to "keep things quiet". Makes you want OH SO BADLY to show a couple friends because the flowers on this strain are flippin' massive and look incredible (they truely have a look all their own - golf ball nugs where you would have expected little chunks).... I know exactly what you mean when saying the pics can't possibly do it justice. So very true.

Your girls look fantastic.... we don't get to see thseeds bgum porn very often... it's one of those strains everyone just takes for granted and sort of misses because most people are so consumed with getting their hands on elites that they miss the old steady "tried & trues" like this one. EXCELLENT JOB - and thanks so much for sharing the budporn!!

Just wanted to shoot an update....

Plants were cut about a month ago, +/-. They ended up going till about day 63ish. Total yeild was over 26 o's from 7 plants, with over seven of those o's coming from that one voluptuous lady (dont want to call her big or fat!). This is also from a grow that didn't have all variables exactly where they should have been, AND in soil.

TH BG is a really good strain, and continues to surprise me every time. Much better choice all around, IMHO, when compared with the offerings from serious/bog/white lable (ive grown all the bubblegums and have gone back to TH). MedicineMan over at overgrow, a bubblegum guru, used to call it "old reliable," because that's exactly what it is.

After about 4 weeks curing I can say there is an improvement. Taste hasn't really changed dramatically from the beginning (it was always great), but it isnt as harsh now as when it was fresher. I think 1 week drying in open air/dark room, humidity controlled, plus 1 week in paper bags, then into jars, is really the way to go. I also seem to think the high becomes more mellow with time, but this could just be me.

High is great. Most anyone that smokes this will agree that its not the best weed they've ever smoked, but still gets excellent marks. If any of you guys are into cars, look at it like this:

The vast majority of weed smoked in the world = 1986 El Camino with rust holes and a cum stain on the passenger seat.

Bubblegum = 2007 Audi S4

All the überexotics (Hazes, etc) = 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

Bubblegum is an excellent and practical weed to smoke all the time, just like the Audi is a very fun, luxiorious, yet practical auto. However, BG cannot eclipse the crazies out there (ie: nevilles, super silver, strawberry diesel, BX 2.5, etc etc) based solely on high, just as the Audi cannot beat a Porsche, but both the BG and the S4 can hold their own against the competition, and most aficionados might suggest the added cost/effort is, for most people, not worth the return in performance that the exotics offer.

The high is mellow and narcotic, depending upon how long you let it go and how you dry it (I tend to let them go a shade longer)... but is not debilitating, depending on your habits, of course. It has a def. creeper quality to it. For about 15 minutes, especially when your not used to the effects, you kinda feel let down..."is this it?" However, the high steadily increases, and within 20-30 minutes after smoking you realize how good this stuff is. :::VERY LONG LASTING::: Again, great mellow high, easy to grow, etc etc.

EXCELLENT COMMERCIAL POTENTIAL...quality/quantity, and the friends keep stammering into the house like zombies, looking for more. My best bud is like "man, thanks a lot, all I do now is smoke that bubblegum...and i love it!...you think you could hook me up with just a little bit more???!!?"

EXCELLENT BEGINNER STRAIN.

Feel free to ask any questions.

big planton! awesome dank omg.. it must smell like mota muy buena.
I like the "friends come to the house like zoombies lookin for more" part of the report :sasmokin: :D

Bubblegum is a nice yielder. Ran it for sometime recently.
They are extremely stoney when taken to day 70.
Would you consider taking different parts of her different intervals? I found that day 70 smoke was dramaticly stonier than the 56 day chop.

Excellent speciman :joint:

What i've found for the best high, in my opinion, is this:

Let them go to around day 63 ish (9 weeks). Chop them, but do not manicure the leaves off (ie: just chop the full plant down into smaller parts that can be hung).

Hang the buds/parts of the plant from string or what have you, in an open air room (ie: not a closet with fans or any of that). For example, I dry in my bedroom with the buds just hanging all over the place, windows blacked out of course, with a/c running in the summer or a dehumidifier set to 40-45 in winter. Temps range from 60-74 degrees, humididty from 30% to 60%. The buds sloooow dry over the course of 1.5-2 weeks. During the better part of the first week, the plants are still fully alive and the leaves remain somewhat turgid, letting them ripen even further.

After about 2 weeks of open air drying, I have satisfied myself that they are ready for the next step. I place them in paper bags for another few days to a week, then theyre in jars.

And thats that...ive found this way to yeild the highest quality product and the best high for my purposes. A note: I don't subscribe to the "wait till the stem snaps" theory. The only way to get plants to the point where the stem snaps clean, in my climate, is to force dry them with massive CFM fans running all the time...the product ends up being practically freeze dried. A much better route is just to leave them in an open air, humidity controlled environment with some small amount of air circulation going on (air conditioner or dehumidifier itself is all that is needed). Even after two weeks the stems won't snap cleanly, but theyre ready for bags. After a week in the bags the stems don't snap, but are ready for jars.

I know the nay-sayers out there will have at it on me, with regards to my method, but i stick by it. To test this, I put the densest of the dense buds, about a 1/2 O total, all in the same jar. I sealed the jar completely and put it in a dark, but warmer place. I left it there for three weeks, sealed, no air circulation. If mold was going to form, it certainly would have. Opened the jar, cut up some of the bigger buds, tried my hardest to find even the smallest iota of mold: none.

I think the stems snapping thing is just a really basic gauge to knowing when to bag/jar your buds. Any strain will be ready for bags after 2 weeks open air. 1 additional week in the bags and any of those strains would be jar ready. The first few harvests I had I went by the "stem snap" method and super dried my shit with inline fans running. Big no, no..degraded quality (although it was still very good).

I guess the point I'm trying to make with this is that stem snapping is not a be all end all, but a guideline. Again, though, it boils down to experience. Stems snapping is a good failsafe method, but one that (IMHO) hurts quality.

On the topic of mold...I've dealt with mold many times in the past, but never with cannabis. Mold requires specific conditions to be in place in order for it to thrive. In short, I believe that unless the center of your bud is still truly fresh and moist, mold will never set in.

I realize this babbling doesn't have anything directly to do with what was said earlier, but I wanted to commit it to writing at somepoint and figured this to be a good place.

Heres a shot of the final product. i was about to smoke and figured you guys could benefit from a shot of the finals. these are neither the choicest or (anywhere near) the biggest buds from the batch, but i think you can see the quality via this pic.
