I was hoping to really start dialing in the strains for highest yields. But the cloning issues sorta derailed that plan. Hoping the new cloning set up works out and I can focus back on that. I think if I can get to about a 7 g average that will be pretty good. I am still getting too many 5 g plants. I think a lot of it has to with cloning too. A clone with a nice set of roots will be way ahead of another with like 1 little root. So, yea, going to focus on that again soon.

Cheers!

Pulled the clones out of the new water cooler cloning chamber yesterday. Got roots on 6 of 9. Not too bad for only 8 days. I put 6 more new clones in it. Will check them in about 10 days. Hoping to get good results on the next batch so I can call it a real success!

Happy farming.

Kushion - I am holding off on calling it a total success. Here's why... I got ok results from the tub in the box cloner first try, then it showed its true colors and I got shit the next two tries. I am pleased with round 1 in the Chloemobile water cooler cloning chamber. But I want to see what round 2 does. I am going to give round 2 about 10 days I think. Trying to get back on schedule. Round 1 went about 8 days, but that was after having been sitting on that stupid heating mat that did fuck all for like 3 days. So, thinking like next Monday or Tuesday I'll check these next 6 clones.

rootidec - Happy to hear you had some luck with cuttings. If anything I post here helps anyone that is awesome. I have learned so much from so many different folks in this community so anything that pays it forward is great. Cheers!

Good to see it wasn't a total failure lol. I usually leave the lights on 24 hours. Not sure why maybe something I read I can't remember though. Anticipating round 2!

I considered leaving the light in the cloner on 24/7. I may switch to that for round 2. I was concerned about frying them. But since I am really hoping to back on my perpetual schedule that may help speed things along. The temps do drop down to the low 60s when the light goes off. You know what? Fuck it, I'm going to take it off the timer and go 24/7. Thanks again for the idea! So far so good. We'll see how round 2 comes out in about 8 or 9 days from now.

Cheers!

So I have 2 Northern Lights Moms now. The original, I am just calling her A, and a new one, calling her B. I just chopped and hung the 1st B plant. Here she is dried. 6.5 g's. So right on par with everything else so far.

I am also loving the Chloemobile water cooler cloning chamber. It is sitting at 82 degrees and the clones look healthy and happy. I am going to give them till Friday I think and then check em. I am a week behind on my regular perpetual schedule due to these damn cloning issues. But hopefully the new winter time cloning chamber will set me back on track.

Hey Tex,

Sorry if you have already mentioned this but could you tell me the height of the plants you are harvesting, one with the roots and another from above soil level?

Many thanks again for your fantastic posts.

I posted this last night, but for some reason it isn't showing up. So I am posting it again. Hopefully it won't show up as a double post now...

SirSmokeallot - The plants are anywhere from about 12 to 16 inches when they finish. I have had some shorter, like 10 inches, and some taller, like 18 inches. But on average, 12 to 16 inches. The bottles that they grow in are about 6 inches tall.

soursmoker - Things are going well. Just pulled 3 more from drying today. I am a bit out of sync on the perpetual harvest due to the cold weather cloning problems, but not too bad. I didn't take pics or weigh this last pull, but it looked about the same, about 6 g's per.

So today was the day to pull round 2 from the Chloemobile water cooler cloning chamber.

If you read the post on round 1 you'll know that I got 6 of 9 to root in 10 days and that was after they sat in the veg cab at like 68 degrees for a few days. I am sure that probably stunted a few. So I had put in 6 new fresh cut clones 10 days ago. Here they are, ready to come out and get checked for roots. They were starting to get that yellow tint...

I pulled 'em from the tubes, and what was the verdict?

Roots on all 6! 100% success. I am officially declaring the Chloemobile water cooler cloning chamber my cold weather cloning solution, it's a success. Here they are in some dirt, 3 to flower and 1 to be a new mom...

That's all for today. Happy farming, stay safe.

Well gang, with the stellar performance of the CWCCC (Chloemobile Water Cooler Cloning Chamber) my perpetual schedule is all kinds of back on track. Round 3 cloning was 100%, round 4 is in now and I see no reason to expect anything but great results. Still only growing the Nirvana Northern Lights. I thought I wanted to grow 2-3 different strains, but this one is so easy, tolerant of my mistakes and smokes really great, I don't know if I am going to bother with trying any other strains. If it ain't broke...

So anyways, things have gotten boring now, which is exactly how I like it. Got the cabs dialed in, working on dialing the strains in as best I can to get optimum results. Just got it on cruise control now.

Happy farming, stay safe.

Back on track now lets see some nug pics! How long till your next chop? I wanna see some more of what mom B produces.

I'm thinking of a small scale ONA filter for my cab. Stealth is a big deal to you and you seem to not have any smell problems with yours... Mind If I ask for some recommendations for a small version? I have some ideas but would like to get some wisdom/pragmatism from someone who has used it successfully....

Nice work Tex! It seems like a constant battle with something for me in my similar setup. I have battled odor, high temps, low temps, deficiencies and currently some unhappy moms, but I keep chrning out awesome bud somehow. My yields have been low with the colder weather, some under 3 g's a plant. I have a nice supply though and am still having fun.

Question: are you still usin the lucas maxi for flowers and rotating between maxi grow and fish emulsions for the moms? Also, how are your moms holding up? I have been getting hard, almost woody, purple shoots on my moms which don't clone nearly as easily.

Canna Gnome - Thanks man. Happy farming!

soursmoker - It's good when it gets boring. LOL! Dial it in man!

Chloemobile - It's funny you mention the ONA. I am actually trying to figure out a way to supplement that. I think the B mom clones are a bit stinkier than the original mom. Cause I am noticing a bit of odor here and there. Especially if I don't refresh the ONA. It's not that bad being up in the attic. And the NL is a pretty low odor strain. But, what I do is mix a few tablespoons on the ONA Pro Gel with the Soil Moist crystals and water. Every day or so I mix it up, add more ONA or Soil Moist and water if needed. I would recommend it as a supplemental odor killer for most, it might not be enough on its own for higher odor strains. Let me know if you want to brainstorm it more.

Kushion - Sorry to hear you've been having some troubles. Keep at it man. You'll dial it in. I have actually changed up my fert method. I am mixing 1/2 tsp Maxi Grow and 1 tsp Maxi Bloom per gallon of water. In flower they get that every water until the last 2 weeks they get straight water to flush. Moms get the same ferts. Maybe plain water every 3rd water or so. So far everyone is happy with it. My moms start looking crappy after a few months. But I re-clone em and start new moms every few months. Hope that helps.

How much did you pay for your S&P Td100 and where did you purchase from?
Would you say it was a good investment?
How loud is it?
