We grow hydro with waterfarms [have fifteen with res.] or rockwool in a bedroom 12 X15 as veg and storage area with 1k MH and flouros, with a wall and door seperating a 12 X 5 bloom room with 1800 watts HPS.

Just wanted to say high to everyone in Texas....I have recently moved here from that crazy ass exspensive state..Ca.

I am running the same system as before, 400mh with soiless soil currently have :

I have to say: starting from seeds suck...it's kewl to see life grow, but the wait vs. clones....man....

I lurked on OG for sometime and learned more than I ever imagined I could, I started reading IC after OG went down and finally got around to makin a handle cuz I know I will have some hypothetical questions in the future. Just wanted to say that I have a ton of respect for this community, both the knowledge and always ( or almost always ) helpful attitudes. Just noticed this thread today because of Dramajic's new post. I want to be a part of it. I've smoked my way through San Antonio, Austin, and Houston since '84 via the punk/blues local music scene, and I have lived here all my life.


My second major, non-commercial grow (it was ALL for me) was busted in 2000 when the elite drug task force beat the crap out of me during an arrest where I totally surrendered immediately, after I refused to pay my landlord $1000 to stay quiet which I didn't have, and he wouldn't accept payment in bud. I narrowly avoided a Federal charge as my bud dried in the evidence locker and lost weight, and when my lawyer demanded a second weighing at my arraignment, it came in at 4.98 lbs., which made it a State Jail Felony rather than a Federal case. Despite the State Jail downgrade, I could have gotten 10 years, but avoided more than 3 monthes inside. I finished all of my probation in 2003.

The reason I bring this up is, if you are telling us about your grows on IC Mag, then you have already broken the first rule of growing-- TELL NO ONE . If you are growing in an apartment, than you have broken the second rule. If you drive with any kind of smoking aparatus in your ride, then expect to be arrested, because while you can no longer smell how bad your pipe stinks the cops and your mother will tell you it stinks to high heaven and they can smell it fifteen feet from the car. If you JUST HAVE to take some smoke to the Blues jam, then take papers with it instead and let some other dumb muther take the fall for not being smart and bringing his favorite glass pipe.

Am I paranoid? Absolutely. I'll talk about the good times, correct what I feel is inaccurate science or history, and try to help folks who have questions. I won't post my grows because I NO LONGER GROW.... Right?

Finally, the fact that we discuss the best ways to grow what many of us regard as a sacramental medicine-- I myself grew to avoid eating Vicodin all day for legitamate pain management -- means that we CAN ABSOLUTELY be charged under the RICO act, just like mafia dons.

I just wanted to remind my Texas brethren of the absolute irrationality that rules our State and Nation, and to remind everybody that we live in the nation with the highest incarceration rate per capita in the world-- higher than China, North Korea, or Iran. So we need to treat our situation as realists rather than assuming we are some sort of righteous passive resisters like Ghandi, because those arguments do not fly in the Texas Justice System. Sorry, I've just been there and done that.

I currently live about 45 minutes away from both Austin and San Antonio, so that is nice for the Spurs and for Willie; and nature and clean air is unbelievable when I sit with my cat sipping coffee during the bake on Sunday morning, communing with my perception of God as humming birds fly around us. I play guitar in my underwear just like my old aquaintance Lyle Lovett....

Texas is beautiful and amazing, it is just a shame that we are not allowed to be who we really are because of misinformation, ignorance, the religiosity of politics, and the will to power that certain individuals have, to the point that they can say what can and cannot go inside someone else's body, and the courts back them up!

I don't leave Texas because the women are way too good looking and they know what I like....

I'm up for any discussion of other people's grows, local music, local bars, local museums, or whatever and I'll plead ignorance if I don't have a clue. I hope to see this thread prosper. Nuff said...

It's ridiculous how inactive this thread is, actually. For how large Texas is, not many of us post. Texas Growers Unite was started I believe in 2004, and it's only 24 pages long. Shocking! Oh, and for anyone seeing this is my 2nd post who might want to welcome me to icmag, let me save you a couple words to type; I've been here - just have aquired another alias. C'mon everyone from the 3rd Coast stand up! There's more than Shorline and Purple Drank down here too for all you haters...
