Usually if the girl is past a certain age and the boy isnt more than four years older they dont pursue charges. Had she been younger and he older they probably would.

if i interpreted correctly, when taken in context, he was sayin that if the difference had been a full 4 years (or more than 4 years) then the appropriate authorities would have pursued charges. however, due to the age proximity, the appropriate authorities declined.



I think everybody puts too much weight on people (not talkin about britney's gut either.....) because they're celebrities. In a better world, i think we'd see celebrities get punished equally for crimes (i.e. lindsay drunk driving) and people laying off the celebrities for mistakes that plenty of people make.

Who's to say that 16 is too young to get pregnant. Ok, maybe in her case. Howver, i don't personally know how responsible or irresponsible she is. In many societies, 16 would be a little old to start having kids.

I'd like to know if there's anyone on these boards who feels they've never slipped up in their life.

Now maybe she shouldn't be on tv anymore, that part i can agree with. I wouldn't want my daughter aspiring to get pregnant at 16. However, I see it as the parent's responsibility, not the network's, to either regulate what their kids are watching or just be smart and not let them watch tv and all the crap that's on it.

Just my opinion folks. Not saying it has to be or should be yours.

i agree. why not spend time covering darfur, the white slave trade, human rights abuses in china, etc???

Im just dissapointed how the media is there not to inform, but to make money, and because of this, feed us this unimportant news instead of real issues affecting society.

I guess i can't criticise. I could always take my own money and travel and report any of the above. People obviously watch this news and enough must care on some level. Maybe it says something about our society as a whole more than those who report the news....
