My mortgage busters will be the Church by Greenhouse seed co.




These will go in the swamps & wetlands since they're so mold resistant. I'm going to try and take advantage of all that water without having to sacrifice yield this year. Last year I ran C99 and the entire crop was eaten by caterpillars which turned to mold. That and my kushes didn't do so well... strain selection really is key I'm finding out.

I've got another bin like this one full of dank rando's from a generous UK grower... he hooked it up fat with like 40 seeds for my outdoor this year. Can't thank him enough, if you're reading then thank you funk!!

These will go in the dry country with a rain collection tarp and pond on the upland gravity feeding these down in the bush. Actually, I should show you guys what the two sites look like that I've settled on....

This is the first site I've settled on, a mile or two off the tracks and inspired by The Dead's song where the path to enlightenment ends at Terrapin Station. Or does it begin there? :biggrin:

Pro's:

- water access (7.3 pH, 175 PPM)
- water table 2 ft down... tap root heaven
- natural barriers surrounding patch (creek, swamps)
- stealthy access (can change in the woods before entering patch, then change back into alibi gear before hitting the tracks to leave)


Con's:

- low lying area (fog settles)
- on hunter's land (only one stand was located though, and at the opposite end of the property on the other side of the swamp about 2-3 miles away)
- potential to flood since the water table is only 2' down
- infested with ticks/snakes

Site #2 - "Fennario"

This location is upland from Terrapin (site #1) and has extraordinary cover. I stepped into this patch and a big smile creeped up on my face as I explored further. I had to explore the entire property to be sure nobody else has been there before, and they haven't. Google Earth looks promising as well, so I'll write it off as Site #2:

I'll be carrying my compass with me here, as it's pretty easy to get turned around in this stuff. It's thick and spontaneous, and has a bunch of little 10x10 cubbies tucked away everywhere. I'll be planting on the south side of pine trees and other taller shrubs that will stay green through Croptober to provide me the extra-needed cover just in case. I followed game trails throughout this entire parcel and they brought me to some pretty amazing spots. Once the rail cart is built I'll transport the rest of my bales to this location and begin digging. I'm hoping to hit water but if I don't I'll be constructing a rain-collection station upland as much as I can get it. I'll dig a 500 gallon trench and line it with pond liner, then set this up to a battery timer for once a week or so. If I can find a natural "spout" out there during a rain storm I'll collect 3x as much as just leaving it out in the open.... this allows me some cover but at the same time more efficiency with collecting using the trees as funnels in a way. I'll run out there before big storms to set the tarp up, then take it down the following morning just to be safe. I don't want any aircraft seeing a reflection and getting any ideas.. even though the tarp will be under some trees as it is.




I constructed the drop site for Site #1 this week, and the bales & amendments await their big day this week....

For every leg going to my drop sites and every leg going to my patches I'll do what I did here and transplant a local bush in it's place, then create a new curving path with my machete away in the opposite direction for a few hundred feet to guide any rippers or leo's away from those legs. This is what got me ripped last year, and the most frustrating part about it was that I told myself it would happen. I knew I should've planted in the leg, and I didn't because I think I was simply curious how careful I really needed to be... being it my first year outdoors. Well, that patch was ripped and I kicked myself after it happened lol

After transplanting I wanted to cover up that bare unnatural soil with a little brush to blend it in

K. Entry point covered... you can see where the trail used to be if you look hard enough, but any passerby won't look twice if they so happen to wander down the tracks this far. I love bushes like these with huge leaf coverage, they make perfect camo.

Edit: Does anyone know if this bush is poison sumac or not? It looks an awful lot like it to me... I didn't really touch it too much to find out though

How come you don't use a backpack frame? Can get an aluminum one for around $50 (can get a military surplus one for $15). Reuseable and don't have to worry about your tape strap breaking. I used one to haul in bales of sunshine. I know they work.

Oh really? I'll look into those... but even if they work they won't help me much since I have so far to hike :/

I might get one for closer patches tho! Thanks man :tiphat:

when its all over, one thing about guerrilla farming, you will be as strong as a guerrilla and immune to poison ivy!...

your grow brings back great memories for me..

FYI: you can never have too much water!... 10, 55gallon drums!

This is what I was about to post, let it go anyway.

Two helis on top of you seems too much of a coincidence. Thing is though it also seems unlikely they would have come over the horizon blind and hit the spot you are on without some 'seeking' (if only of the searchlight) to pinpoint your exact location - sounds like they were exact both times. It's also unlikely they would warn you this way but stranger things have happened.

So I would take heed, of the warning, if that's what it is. Trust in the good and plan for the other ... Your friend, the one you were going to partner with, could be useful here if you still trust him.

Did the helicopter hover or linger, hesitate, either time? Were they traveling fast somewhere? Did you get a clear look at it, Police or? What does your instinct (not so easy to separate from your fear) tell you?

Anyways, I hit the swamp today to get in another haul. This one was the one I was dreading, on the count of it's straight through the swamp. It stormed pretty bad last night, lots of rainfall in my area came down. I got to the drop site and looked at the swamp and almost called it... the water was so high! I thought it was a great opportunity to check out my water levels though, and it was. I'll be changing my plan and will be building mounds instead of down-setting. All the rain in the fall will definitely put those girls at risk of drowning if I don't. The 2' deep hole that filled with 6'' of water was easily 12''-18'' deep today. It still didn't touch the ground level, but it was pretty close.

The path to enlightenment.... both literally & figuratively speaking


This swamp is so healthy looking, there are definitely minerals and nutrients packed in here judging by the surrounding growth. I've gotta wade through about 1/2 mile of this stuff before I find myself at the raised patch of land I'm planting on. It is impossible to see this patch from the ground. Great ripper prevention too, unless they're willing to get pretty wet and spend a few days out there following their noses. I'd like to challenge someone to find these actually, I'm that confident in this location.

It gets to about waist deep out here... deeper in some spots. The muck underneath this is the main problem though... it can be solid in some areas but then give way to a 2 foot drop suddenly after a false floor of swamp roots give way. I almost went under once, and I avoided that area afterwards for that very reason. Hauling the bails through this was pretty hard too because the muck fucked my balance up a lot. I had to move slower, which took more energy in the long run but I kept asking myself what Silverback would do... and that kept my head straight lol. It sounds funny but when you're that exhausted physically your mental starts to go and you lose concentration and focus at times... we've all been there. In times like these, having a go-to motivator will get you through and may even change the way you do things. My saying (and idol) is W.W.S.D. (what would Silverback do?) and it almost always changes the way I do things. I used to take the easy way out of tasks like taking extra time to cover paths and entrances or not biking the 3 miles needed to get to my spot without parking my car nearby. Brown dirt and Silverback are always in the back of my mind and I'll just pretend they're there with me judging my every move. It's what makes me work harder and call it crazy but I really do feel like they're out there in spirit with me. My buddy has a friend who's a fallen guerrilla and I tell him to do the same thing... it's what they would've wanted I like to think.

I always toss my head net on when I enter the meer vicinity of my patch. As soon as I get a chance to, I put it on. You didn't think you were the only one in the woods setting up game cameras, did you?
