That sounds like a solid plan for your prep. I like it. That's pretty much what I did this spring... minus the composting over the winter lol. I have a feeling the compost will really add a boost to the food web right off the bat, especially after bringing in manure and amendments in the spring.
I'm gonna rake up leaf litter and pine needles from a ways away from my plot, and bag it up then carry it to my location I think. I was kind of bummed out while scouting spots yesterday actually, I found some 1/2 gal seedling pots literally 20 ft from my grow this year. They were really old though, at least 3 years old I'd say. It's funny though, when you think you're the only one around town doing this it's the very opposite. Those growers either live nearby or they found it on google earth like I did. No signs of crops, foot prints or footage of anyone on the game camera though. I think a grower once was here, that's all. Still bothers me though...
I just requested some rain water storage bladder prices, might grab their 300 gal one depending on prices. Solid advice! Thank you man.
I haven't figured out what I'll do for irrigation yet, so far I have two 10'x10' patches cleared out in some overgrowth on a slight hill. I'll try and figure out a gravity-fed system, it's my first time doing this so it's pretty intimidating after reading about pressure problems that some guys are having. Might have to get one barrel per patch and just refill them with the stored water in the bladder.
What are your plans for irrigation?

The BW is dank, it doesn't yield as well as I'd like but the quality is up there to my standards. Large internode spacing, but it makes up for it by being mold resistant and packing a serious punch in the smoke. I usually keep it for my headsack

As for your bug problem, try "Uncle Bens". That bug spray is a fucking lifesaver! People up in Maine use it for mosquitos (but it works for everything). Nothing else works besides that up there. They call mosquitos the state bird. I've literally tried everything and nothing works but that shit. I'm an avid fisherman and I can sit on the beach and fish all night with that shit on, no bug bites. Anyone else that comes is gone within a half hour lmfao.

i know what TM use..he use 100% cold pressed neem oil and karanja oils and meals..neem oil is his go to chemical when its dealing with bugs. i was confused i couldnt tell if u meant u or the plants haha..i juse the deep woods off works good for me

It was a fun season, and I learned almost as much as I did the season before that one where I was ripped twice, so that says a lot. This year will be dialed in I think, I'm even working out to prep for supply hauling haha... last year it kicked my ass and I needed to rest for an entire week before I could continue. Precious time was lost.
I just put that stuff in the Amazon cart, thanks for the tip! I use Rose oil for ticks, but that's about it. It sort of works for mosquitos but I still find myself swatting them off me.
Google Earth is fucking great - it saves a lot of time and lets you mark out places to visit and scout further on foot. I have about 8-10 spots I've gotta check out the day snow melts around here. Then if you can find files online to download for Google Earth you can highlight wetlands, parks, bike trails, etc. You can really use it to find some crazy shit you would never have known was there otherwise. I like selecting the "photos" box to see where people have been hiking and taking pictures... so I know to avoid these areas like the plague! With a bunch of different small facts, you can put together a pretty detailed picture of what the location is going to look like and if it's got any potential for a grow or not. The date in the bottom of the screen is helpful too, because you can see what the foliage/waterways look like at certain times of the year. It's totally random - but the other day I found some parcels that were photos of September 29th (harvest time) so I could see which areas had green foliage still and which had browned out by that time. This could be the difference between being spotted by a heli or not! Technology really is our best friend...
I found the tie down stakes at Lowe's, I'm sure Home Depot has em as well. They work fairly well, but I'm going to find darker garden tape this year because that shit was bright as hell and I almost took it down after setting it up actually. I was also thinking about just driving one 8' bamboo stake into the ground next to the stalk to not only tie it off to for high winds, but to tie branches to before flowering to open them up (just like how those tie down stakes were used), and then for flowering they'll be there for when buds swell up and begin to droop. I've seen pictures of this being done and tried it on a plant last year, and it works perfectly. The main stake has to be secure though, that's the only thing.
I've been considering either getting a bunch of cheap cameras around the $70 mark, or getting just one camera per patch that's a little nicer and around $120 a piece. I really don't have the money to get $500 in cameras this moment but I know they'll be well worth it... this is the one I was looking at:

I like it because of the HD video feature, I feel like pictures can only do so much. When you have video you can hear what's going on as well as see which direction and how fast objects are moving which is far more accurate obviously. I may just get this camera for my high risk patches where it's needed most, and some cheapies for the other patches that aren't as risky.

hell ya man that is the good EWC..i have to order all mine off line so i have to be picky with which ones gets the worm power kind. all the other plants get the ole hydro kind which is better then nothing at all i suppose

that was exactly my thoughts to Hamstring "DUDE" lol did u grow the early riser? i was reading strain guide and i seen silverback had grew it at my lat with a big yeild,good resistance and mid sept finish. i got a few things up my sleeve this year for bud rot and that fkn leaf spot
