Tattoos

I love tattoos. I only have one, on my belly....it's a Psilocybin mushroom with the Ancient Egyptian Ankh symbol in the background, with misty looking smoke rising from it.

To commemorate the life changing effects the little mushrooms made on me.

It hurt like a SOB, with the tattooist doing maybe 40 of the mushrooms "fins", felt like he was slicing me up. Never again somewhere so sensitive :spank: :muahaha:

I really like the tattoos of the Canadian Indian in "Brotherhood of the Wolf" -

Ever notice how rare it is for people in Leadership positions to have pictures drawn on their skin?

I was wtchin a IRaq video with Us Soldiers relaxing....showing off their Tatts... The Privates, specialist, and one or two officers had tatts...but the Majority of the Leaders....Top Dogs....the guys everyone else was trying to impress..... NO Tatts? Damdest thing....

Maybe they had medals n degrees... SCARS...instead.... who knows.? .they didnt feel the need to show em to the cameraman... so Its a mystery. LOL

Nice tat OldPink!!! They did an excellent job on it!!! Props!!!

I've got 26 and counting, decideing on a full back piece for the last 3-4 years, just haven't figured out what I want. I've designed a few but just can't decide, might end up with another dragon starting atmy left foot and winding up my leg across the abdomine and onto the back for the wings and front legswith the head comeing over my right shoulder!

When I die I'm gonna have my torso and arms skinned and tanned, then spread out and framed which will be backlit! My Lady thinks I'm crazy, my son said hes proudly hang it over his mantel!!!

I've just read this whole thread.... some nice ink in here,,, kudos to all you guys!

I've also spent some time at tattoo conventions over the yrs & seen plenty of tatts (20 to 30yrs old) that have been re-coloured , simply said they look as good as the day they were originally done... quite impressive when the owner tells you how old they are.
The one thing I love about people with ink is they don't care if you're a virgin, they don't judge you.

Tattoos are awesome! I currently have 5 but I can't post them. Pigs have them documented = dead give away who I am.

I'm planning on dedicating a spot on my body for my girlfriend. I've been with her now for 4 years and grown up with her since highschool. My idea is our anniversary date with Chinese lettering for 'love'.

Well shit lets dust this OLD ASSED thread off,, TB4U, I miss You BRAH.

At 47yrs old im having a Mid-Life CRISIS, and its totally changing My life, for the better.
NO change comes easy, but when ITS TIME its TIME.

I have always LOVED peeping others Tatz, and when they share what these Tatz MEAN to Them, it ALWAYS makes Me like them evan more.
Some Folks get ink just for the Artistic value, some only for Memorials, and so many reasons I prolly can not guess.

I personally never felt STRONGLY enough Bout any thing (art) to PERMANETLY mark My Skin with, cause I am a Pisces, and as such FICKLE as HELL.

Over Memorial day weekend, on a trip to Sothern Co. I began to think about My Bro., His son(My Godson) and the loss we all suffered a year ago that weekend.
My Bros. 14yr. old Nephew hanged himself at home , with his Moms, and 7yr old Sister down stairs.
I Just started thinking how My BRO., and God Son were FEELING ATM.
I started trying to compose a txt. as I drove into Co. from Ks. on I-70 I Melted down, pulled over and Bawled My eyes out, as These words poured from DEEP in My Soul, Out My eyes, down My cheeks and onto My right Fore arm.
Well the 2nd verse any way, to remind Me that I am going to take CONTROL of My ISSUES, and become the Man I was put HERE to BE!!!

There's a time to LIVE,,, a time to Die,,,
In TIME We WILL know WHY.
We OWE it to Those Who have known Us to be
JOYOUS,,, and to LIVE LIFE to the FULLEST.

I NEVER have written any thing close to a Poem, in My life, I don't know if this is poetry or not but, it FEELS GOOD.

I walked into My 1st Tatoo Shop on a Thursday, and had an appt. that Sat., I now 3 Tatz.
All in 3DAZE. This is all since the week after Mem. Day, oh,,, and a New Bass guitar, but that's another thread. lol.

My tattoist felt my design was a bit off, it would have become cluttered so he did a nice dancing jaguar with Mayan influences -and it´s great. I´d love to post some of my ink but that´s like putting your face up for view.

why do so many tattoos I see now seem to blur much faster than tatts that were done 30 or so years ago within the same time frame? I see a lot of tatts on friends that look ok for a year or too then very fast become a blurred mess, while I had friends who had their bodies inked up in the 70's and even in the early 90's their tatts looked good, the lines were still sharp and the colors still vivid.....it's the same I see with triad guys who have semi torso jobs done and these tatts look good for decades too.

Is it because of the expertise of the tattooists?..and now they are badly trained and inexperienced (due to the demand nowadays) and the tattooists from back before tatts became as common were simply better at their craft? ....or is it due to the designs back then were more suited to looking better longer than today's designs?

Traditional images last longer. Whether it is American Traditional, or Japanese traditional, These tattoos are made to stand the test of time.

As people started to move away from traditional imagery, and into more complex designs we have seen them not stand the test of time.

I am covered head(literally my head is tattooed) to ankles. I decided on a giant traditional eagle with flowers on my back. Extremely traditional. It is actually based off of an eagle from the 1920's. Most would think it is not complex enough for that size of an area. However I know that when I am old as fuck you will still be able to look at it from 100' away, and say, "god damn that old man has a nice eagle on his back."

You can't say that about most tattoos.:)
