Some males from that last batch. They were very short of space and they had no ventilation, and also they were cut in half in order to make a strong clone from the tip. So that's why they look a little weird. I'll use their pollen soon.

I've put the three males I selected (I discarded one) in a tent with the half a dozen plants I want to pollinate, in a separate room of my main grow. I don't want any of this pollen to travel anywhere else, but I'm sure the separated spaces and carbon filters will prevent unwanted pollinations.

Today I saw the first open male flowers and I used it over some young buds. To guarantee all the males are used to pollinate, and not just the fastest, I'll get rid of the fastest one in a couple of days. Then the other ones, that are a little slower, will have their chance.

In a couple of weeks all the three pollen donors will be used and I will freeze some pollen for the future, like pollinating the stinky Barney's White Widow XXL and others I'm testing. After that, I'm doing a totally different pollination and I don't want any risk of Taskenti pollen flying around, so I'll have to wash everything to avoid risks.

I thought I had replied earlier. I think part of the harshness of taskenti comes from it's thick cuticle structure. It produces thick heavy smoke. I dry sifted much of my seed run and didn't get that bite. I'm not sure what batch mine were from they were a reproduction from an old member but I didn't see much variation in the 30 or so I grew.

My meaning of soft is not loud. I prefer loud in general. I freeze most of my bud to keep it loud. I found the smells to be creamy, earth, metallic but not in a pronounced outward way. The taskenti definitely muted the sherbet in these few I grew but did add some pleasant feel good effects and duration to the effects. It smokes like a rich tobacco reminds me of a Bubba cross. I am tempted to start some Burmese x taskenti to see if it tames that loud.

Ive been thinking in what you said, because it is interesting.

I believe you can be right on the harshness and part of it can be related to a stronger cell structure in this strain. But I'm also pretty sure that there is a part of the effect that is due to the resin composition. I mean, the cough you get is the cough you get from strong cannabis, the one that hits you from the lung several seconds after smoking, without itching or any other warning. I believe it is caused by the effect of the cannabinoids in the bronchial tube, since it has bronchodilating effect.

This kind of cough doesn't remember (to me) the cough of these weeds, that make you cough because it itches in your throat while the smoke passes through. That's something that should never happen with good weed, just with bad one, bad cured, wet, whatever.

It remembers me the first time I was in Amsterdam and smoked a real joint. My god, I started coughing after a couple of hits, I coughed for a whole minute and after that I was riding the train over the clouds for hours.

The thickest heaviest smoke I've seen is the one from Black Domina, it is something special. But I believe it is that thick because of the composition of the resin. And still, that one doesn't make me cough at all. Sativa smoke tends to be lighter.

I always smoke pure weed unmixed. Additives like tobacco make the cough disappear, there is some shit on it that masks the itching.

I would really like to have hash made from outdoor Taskenti.
