Here's a photo of the P2 created from the open pollination last year, seed was from the 'B' line that ran more sativa. The Syrian is in the foreground. Some of the further away plants are NepJam x Syrian. Interesting leaf forms so far, I think they'll thin out in flower

Hi love all the content so far, I am planning on doing a syrian grow in a greenhouse in bare gound and was wondering if there can be some training or pruning done to these plants or not?, as I have a height limit to grow. Thanks in advance

What is your height limit ?

What is your height limit ?
Its is 1m I believe maybe 10-20cm higher thats the height limit I want the top colas to reach as any higher will end up growing against the roof. I also would have to keep in mind the stretching phase, does this strain stretch a-lot during blooming phase?

Yeah depending on the phenos you get, some individual will need some LST. There's definitely some stretch but nothing like tropical plants, more like x1,5-1,8 at most. Your best luck would be tohave dwarf phenos (50-60 cm tall).

Okay thanks, I will maybe post some updates of the plants throughout the stages so any follow up recommendations would be great! And by 1,5-1,8 do you mean that in meters?

This is the source.

Mendelian Genetics here and here.

During my grow of this accession in 2018 , I had the luck to encounter a resiny male, too :

I just bought 3 packs of syrian seeds from rsc. I want to isolate the sweet autoflower sativa pheno to cross with my mango haze ibl from wally duck. Id love to hear more info from people who have grown syrian. RSC claim to be, "Aromas are intense fruit and tangy candy." Has this been the case fir people growing it? Is it intensely resinous as they claim as well? Do the terps last in cure?

I wish the (RSC) would do reproduction runs of all their Middle Eastern strains.

What I like about these strains is that they are early maturing / semi-autoflowering

Greek/Cretan
Moroccan
Turkish
Egyptian
Lebanese
Syrian
Iranian

I've got a sneaking suspicion & (I'm probably wrong) that the famous Texada Timewarp could have some Middle Eastern genetics.

Timewarp

Next Generation Seed Company

Texada Timewarp is one of Vancouver Islands most plentiful and common outdoor strains, and with good reason. Its big lemony buds are a legend out here and have been considered the taste of British Columbia’s Gulf Islands for around 40 years now. The Original Texada Timewarp is a clone only and has been kept going for many decades. Many BC breeders have made crosses of it to add to their collection. The serious outdoor farmers in BC keep coming back to this old favorite for it hardy growth, big yields, and great high.

Very consistent early strain that can take a little bad weather if it has to.

The Timewarp is a sweet tasting strain with a more enjoyable high than many other outdoor strains. The buds ripen up in the last week of September here in Southern BC. The plants are about 6-8 feet tall(2 meters) and can get quite wide if topped. Good strain for long term storage as it will keep its smell for a long time when stored properly.

Flowering Time:
Indoors: 45-50 days
Outdoors: September 25

Jordan of the Islands Description:

A truly BC outdoor strain. Resiliant to mold and cold. A strong finisher yielding tons in the last 2 weeks. Good smoke, fun to grow!

Light green, spear shaped buds.
Lemony flavour, good yield and very stoney.

Harvest outdoor: early October

Description

Genetics: Lebanese Cannabis Landrace
Sourcing: The Real Seed Company, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, 2008 Harvest
Purpose: Hashish (sieved resin)
Latitude: 34° N
Harvest: August through September
Height: 0.5 – 1.5 metres
Aroma: Cedar, pine, fruit, mango, candy, hashish
Characteristics: Early maturing, compact, resinous, columnar and spherical variants, semi-autoflowering, high CBD
Grow Type: Outdoors, greenhouse, or indoors
A Lebanese cannabis landrace personally collected at source with the assistance of a local old-timer hashish aficionado from Bekaa Valley. Lebanon has a long tradition of producing fantastic hashish, and the region’s best strains are renowned for their quality and breeding potential.

Characteristic aromas of this Lebanese landrace are cedar and pine, with sweetness and heavy aromas of fruit such as mango and cherry. Lebanese plants are typically compact and early maturing. Deep-red or purple colouration can show during senescence. CBD can be exhibited in exceptionally high double-digit quantities.
Two main architectures can be found: Columnar plants grow to one central stem with minimal branching and are well-suited to breeding advanced industrial crops. Heavily branched phenotypes are often near-spherical (e.g., 90 by 90 cm).
This particular Lebanese accession has notable pedigree, originating in one of the most renowned mountain regions above Bekaa Valley, which is traditionally where the finest Lebanese hashish has been produced.

*NOTE: Bekaa Valley has been a major centre of commercial hashish production for export since the early 20th century. The crops employed in that era were probably introduced by the Levantine smuggling networks that controlled Mediterranean smuggling to Egypt, then among the world’s largest markets for hashish. The plants are likely to have been similar to those cultivated in Greece, which was the major regional producer until the 1930s. Afghan seeds are said to have been introduced to Bekaa in 1974. A further factor is hemp (subsp. sativa), which was briefly cultivated in the valley during ’90s in misguided crop substitution programs.

In any event, I hope you're able to do seed runs..... I'm also interested in all of the early maturing / semi-autoflowering strains from the Middle East - especially for those of us way up North :)
