I have a friend who is dying of cancer, doesn't have anything to leave his family. Another who is pretty much useless in terms of earning anything because of illnesses that laid him out in his 40's. Government takes from all of us to pay the rent there. I can recite a number of people in a number of age groups that either don't have any way to take care of themselves financially or otherwise if they get really sick, or bury themselves if they die leaving that to everyone else to pay. My opinion is that the average American would have an extremely better life if he/she were to focus and concentrate on learning how to take care of him/herself and become self-sustaining. It takes real commitment to do that, to strive toward self sufficiency and beholden to no one. I'm pretty sure that if the average person does that they won't have time to be interested in conquering the world militarily or cheering it on either. Respectfully I could be wrong but then again I'm in my own zone too

the same cannot be said about many Muslim countries who wish to obtain nuclear weapons.

Putin is pretty smart, and he is playing a game with the U.S to establish Russia on a same or even higher level of international influence; he does not give a fuck about Syria, it is only a tool he is using to accomplish this.

No one wants to start shit with Russia either, as they do indeed have high technology and personal able to use it.

however, Russia does not want war either, since if something were to start, their newly accomplished economical success as well as position in international influence would come to an end, as at this point in time, if WWIII breaks out, everyone is fucked.

Cole says that there is no equivalent in Farsi to, "wipe off the map". The proper translation would be, "the regime will fade from the pages of history". Ahmadinejad even spoke later about this and made comparison to the former Soviet Union which collapsed from it's over-reach and own internal dysfunction.

And Ahmadinejad was a hot headed loudmouth with no real power over foreign policy. And he's gone now. Good riddance. Rouhani is now president and he wants diplomacy and open internet for Iran.

I think the bigger question is; Who the hell came up with that "erase from the map" translation which has pushed the US closer to war with Iran. Another good question is; Why and who is pushing the US towards war with Iran? That was supposed to be the end game of Cheney's war with Iraq, but things didn't work out so swell. And who created and pushed those forgeries in Italy about Nigerian yellowcake uranium that led the US into Iraq? There's so many layers of deception.

But I agree, neither Syria nor Iran would win a war with the US, but that idea was never proffered. The point is that if it happens we could all be the losers.

The only somewhat objective party in the conversation is the UN, and they aren't saying Who, just what, where, when. Legit conflicting theories of the attack...false flag (not the likeliest, but it has been done before), measurements indicating the origin of the ricin rockets was Syrian military. If you start to think you're figuring it out...just wait a minute and some other new piece of information will make you reconsider.

I don't think I've ever been so confused as I am now concerning a war situation. Close, but never this baffled.

Only a few things I am certain about:

the use of chemical weapons can't be acceptable

But what about the 100K Syrian civilian deaths from other weapons? Am I saying they matter less than the 1K who were killed with chemical weapons? No (but that is a definite chink-in-the-armor in the argument against WMD's, and one that needs further discussion...is it not time to stop ALL killing, of any kind, in ALL conflicts? How in the hell would we be able to do THAT!? I don't fucking know, all I know is that a problem never gets solved until people start discussing it. Peace must be priority number 1 now, our planet is getting way to crowded, with way too many potential WMD's to be used...biological is the scariest of 'em all, and the ability of small time players like terror organizations to start mixing and playing modern day Dr. Frankensteins is now possible as long as they have big money to set up their labs)
