Swiss Erdbeer

Knospe from Switzerland has been working a lot with the Erdbeer cut. As far as I remember Knospe was working at Canna Tech, the company that claimed to create the Erdbeer. They were selling the original clone at the Swiss Canna Trade fair. This clone is still available at Flowery Fields.

He did his own strains based on the Erdbeer cut, mostly backcrossing the clone with other strain for several generations. He provided the cut as well to other companies from the time as Green Hornet, who was selling Erdbeer cuts at the time and produced his very own Erdbeer version after a clone produced a male branch and the offspring was found to be normal (similar case as Bubba Kush/Peyote).

Although surprisingly, he never found any strawberry smell:

hey kallenavndk,

i'll get you some of mine "real" erdbeers...and varietys who'll produce ROCKhard nuggets.

i think the original clone is a mostly or pure indica, probably afghan origin.

in fact, there's no fruity or strawberry fragrance to it at all.
it resembles more earthy, piney tones...

the name occured most likely from the strawberry-shaped
buds

Hello everybody :tiphat: ,

just wanted to show you two different F1 hybrids of the
Swiss Strawberry ("Erdbeer", or with the Swiss diminutive "Erdbeerli")clone as a mother parental.

I think those hybrids can give a slight idea how the clone performs in an outcross/which traits dominate from the mother genetics.

The seeds were received from Alpine Seeds.
They were 6 seeds of Swiss Strawberry x OG Kush Lemon Larry F1,grown in 2015
and 6 seeds of Swiss Strawberry x (Apollo 11 x C99 F3) F1, grown in 2016.

The Swiss Strawberry x OG Kush Lemon Larry, grown in 2015, were used for seed propagation/seed increasment mainly.
The pictures in this post are from 2015 ( SS x OGk LL ).

The following pictures are taken from 2 females in 2016.
The genetics are, as mentioned in the post above,
Swiss Strawberry x ( Apollo 11 x C99 F3 ) F1.

Out of 6 seedlings , 1 shriveled away due to a supposed fungal infection.

Out of these 5 Seedlings , 3 males ( one small and early one, one green and lanky one and a late, purple male with the strongest smell) and 2 females ( one bigger and green, more piney smelling phenotype and one slimmer and purple and more incense like smelling pheno ) developed.
Seeds of both females were saved.

Cheers

Yeah, that's what I have been hearing about erdbeer as well, with it having a mild buzz. I am going to probably be making a couple crosses with these erdbeers as the moms. Going to cross out to ErdbeerxLebanon and to herijuana, so I am thinking the heri cross should add a bit of power to the erdbeer.

Time will tell I suppose.

How did the herijuana effect it? Did the taste transfer along with potency ect.

Erdbeer from outdoors this summer in the uk.
These seeds were a gift from a member on here from a few years ago.
If i remember right they were from a original swiss cut that had hermed and produced a handful of seed that was then shared around.
these flowers went late into november and were pretty fuked up by the time they were finished,:tiphat:

Hello everybody, :tiphat:

Nice Erdbeer plants you've grown, dr feelzgood.
Hope you enjoyed them despite the weather.

Would like tho share an Erdbeer-Hybrid by Alpine Seeds,
grown last year (2018):

Erdbeer X Sweet Pink Grapefruit F1.

Germinated 10 seeds , 7 males and 3 femaled developed,
could harvest some F2 seeds.

The 3 females were inside a small greenhouse during flower.

The SPG male used in this cross was developed
from a backcross-projekt with Deep Chunk IBL afaik.
Then this male was used to pollinate the Erdbeer clone and thus produce the F1.

The smell of this variety could be described as hashy, piney, earthy and dark in varying degrees and the effect is surprisingly balanced, a mellow sensation which can be nice in the evening.

Cheers

Hello everyone,

wanted to post some pics of "ErdbeerX", a new feminized cross of
Swiss Strawberry aka Erdbeer x NLX (also known as "White Rhino") by Helevetic Seeds.
Had 10 seeds, lost one while planting, hence 9 plants. Plants were grown in 2021.

Like the cross quite much, taste reminds of hash and oranges with slight hints of strawberry.
Smoke is smooth, effect balanced and not heavy, you can be either active or relaxed,
both is possible without too tiring drawbacks. These plants were sown late and finished inside a small greenhouse.

By the way, if you are looking for a regular version of Swiss Strawerry aka Erdbeer, Helvetic Seeds released a backross version called "EEP" (Erdbeer x Erdbeer x Purpurea 09).

Cheers and happy growing everyone

Great info on the EEP @Azaghal! Didn't know about that one, seems like a very good option for an Erdbeer seedline.

Another one I've been looking at is Strain Hunters (Greenhouse Seeds) White Strawberry Skunk. They list the genetics as "Swiss Erdbeer". So Erdbeer S1?

Thanks, goinggrey!

about the lineage of White Strawberry Skunk I don't know ...
NLX/"White Rhino" is a Nothern Lights x White Widow cross (or known cutting?) and maybe from Geenhouse Seeds, possibly during their time in Switzerland ...

Erdbeer S1 was posted here, it is #12 in this thread.
Helvetic Seeds/United Seedbanks also offer their own version called Erdbeer x Purpurea 09 (F1).
Somthing comparable to Ace Seeds' variety ErdPurt but not selected/inbred.

The EEP seems to be a backkross to the Erdbeerli afaik ...

Cheers

I just bought the EEP and ErdbeerX from Helvetic. Hope I made the right choice, I've been looking for the erdbeer strain since I tried the white strawberry skunk. I had one pheno that smelled like strawberries with cream and had amazing taste. I wonder if you tried EEP or you got strawberry smelling phenos with ErdbeerX? cheers.

I am looking for a mellow but noticeable effect, not too strong. Which one is closer to the original erdbeer, EEP or Erdbeer X Purpurea?

Great terps on the WSS... quite potent as well. Cold finish brings out the purple. A cross I did with their SSH threw up those lovely fruity terps and the bud is a go to. GHS Strawberry Haze uses the Erdbeer as well. Nice early sativa like high and lovely smell. Bright active cerebral high but not long lasting. Not huge yielder but might be worth working with.

I hadn't made the link between Erdpurt and Erdbeer... I'm currently flowering The Church, which is an Erdbeer cross - no strawberry aromas or colours as yet.

Edit: Auto suggestion is a powerful thing but... maybe one of them has some strawberry aroma :)

Edit 2: They all have rock hard buds
