Our County has @ half a million in it so a good size imo, small but enough going on to keep ya in trouble - I spent a decade plus living downtown Chicago, plenty to be had there too but I definitely prefer where I am now, especially with a family

Our drinking water comes from one of the cleanest lakes in America (states) & is aquifer & spring fed, as a kid we’d just dip a cup in it & drink direct when out boating - interestingly we also had one of the most polluted lakes in the world @ here too but it’s been being cleaned now for decades and is much much better than it was but I believe still some to go, could be wrong on that to go part

Durlumbo cuts came in with all types of shit including mites, I dunked them but eggs that lived on are hatching now, definitely russets / broads on there too; thrips as always @ too but I’m betting I can get them to push on through both /all as I knock ‘em back with peppermint castor soap & Spinosad, I’m not interested in using anything stronger….

Tall ceilings & large containers; this is gonna be fun
OH Yeah, I use Dr.Bronner's soap. When buying cactus plants from the nursery they usually come with pests/eggs. I drown them(cactus & soil) in castor soapy water for 20 min. Seems to solve future problems.

For me it would be difficult to go back living in a major city. The closest city to me is about 30 min drive and has a population of 33,000 plus the surrounding districts would add another 10,000. Their local hospital has been upgraded with a new wing to accommodate a growing population.

Where I live now has a population of 350 people and a 10 min drive I would be in a village of 1,600 people with a good health clinic of 5 doctors. Being old it's important to have access to medical needs.

I like big cities for their museums and galleries.

I will look forward to your indoor grow. Your gardening skills are well honed.
I am just ready to get my 1m x 1m tent going, I have been waiting on cooler temps, the change is afoot. Gnats are a big issue around my area after a few frosts it knocks them back.

Some eggs are inserted into plant parts & even with a good, long soak I still find in 6-8 weeks eggs start hatching; it’s a known ones just gotta deal with, we bring in/out hundreds of plants each year & thousands of lbs of food, eradication of anything inside here simply is impractical if not impossible, know the field your playing on I recon… Gnats are a thing here when I’ve got a few hundred lbs of veggies or fruit laying @ but generally winters kill then off, it can hit -30F here which is cold AF, they don’t stand a chance in our dry super cold winters most the time…. Though lately winters have been weak, not even sure if it got below zero F last year which is extremely unusual @ here….

New Caledonia (2000) x Oaxacan 12 fingers - I love this plants structure & terps even though rather broad leafed, for now at least
