LVPK and AK47 are all ill be running outside next year. The lvpk would have been good to go 3rd week of sept. that would give me 2 weeks to trim until i would have to harvest the ak.

the ak47 cut i got is so nice bro you should try her out

Personally, im thinking about doing LVPK & Cherry Pie from clone again, nice big stinky nugs good bag appeal and they finish early....
These two sound like a pretty good starting lineup my friend.

Clones- Raspberry Cough
Hey Endur!,
Great to see your recent harvest my friend. Raspberry Cough sounds interesting. What can you tell us about her?

after the last 3 seasons of running between 15-20 strains i believe i have found some keepers to put up for quality cali outdoor....

purple diesel ( forms up very well, beautiful plant, low leaf/calyx ratio, main colas look like indoor)
This PD sounds promising. Who is it by?

last season my Purple Berry Diesel (Purple Doja x DJ Shorts Blueberry and the female from that crossed with Sour Diesel) we're the highest yields.
Mouth watering... How was the smoke on this one? Did she color up?

******************************

As for myself this upcoming season will be my first going outdoor and I will have the following genetics to play with and figure out which is best:

1) Pakistani Chitral Kush (from seed by Cannabiogen)

2) Space Chimp (Gorilla Grape x Fire Alien from seed by d420)

3) Urkle (local clone)

4) GDP (local clone)

5) LVPK x Hindu Kush (from seed by Icon)

Will be acquiring the pure LVPK from one of my boys here on IC (thanks bro) and still have two strains to purchase.

Anyone have experience with the seed strains above?

when did your LA con come down prop215? been thinking about getting some indica in my garden next season and she's looking like my top pick.

last season my 707 Headbands and Purple Berry Diesel (Purple Doja x DJ Shorts Blueberry and the female from that crossed with Sour Diesel) we're the highest yields.

I had success with the SFV aswell, I try to grow mostly local strains (or California local strains).

I need to get my hands on some TomHill genetics asap...

i havent heard too much about tom hill... any good?

This is the strain description.
With its clear, uppity yet calming effects, Sativa Seeds, Raspberry Cough seeds come highly recommended as a medical marijuana strain. Its mother is a Cambodian marijuana land race with especially high THC levels, and its father is Nirvana's award-winning marijuana strain Ice. Raspberry Cough is an F1 cross with an abundance of red hairs and a tendency to develop blue hues in cooler night/dark temperatures. Raspberry Cough's aroma and flavor have a hint of Asian spice, yet taste decidedly of Dutch marijuana. The tall, somewhat thin cannabis plants can be grown very closely together for maximum yields of prime cannabis.

Pretty much is spot on.
It definitely has its own unique smell. Berry/musky/with a hint of cat piss.
Yields are above average.
My cutting grows bushy.

Peace
Endur

from your part of the state , clones that do very well outside are
-green crack (a real gem outside)
-alien kush
-blue knight
-blue dream

those are just a few of the ones that do well. You may want to be wary of sour bubble as i did one outside once, it was very nice, but not the best bud to leaf ratio. The buds were really nice though.

good luck

whats up with the cherry pie alien?
Have heard that Green Crack is getting weak and much more prone to PM and pests. Have heard some are moving on from it. Have not come across the Alien Kush yet in that area but yeah Blue Knight is a staple but seems next year some crosses vetted this year will be happening instead for some. I'm looking forward to some big Blue Dream trees next year!

Cherry Pie Alien out of Laytonville? I'm just starting to make friends there and would like the lowdown on that one!

I'm thinking about doing a selection on the fifty or so sam's skunk/haze x mixed seeds I've gathered in the past year. could be interesting, no?

otherwise I'll be putting out some mandala f1s, and probably some dieselrella, maybe some sweet tooth #4...

would love some LVPK, but I've never seen it up here...

Self- one word of advice.... take cuts. My one Sam's Mix seed I put outdoors was a winner. Absolutely wreaks! The other day I opened the jar for a few seconds just to take out a piece for a friend. Came back like 5 minutes later and my whole room still smelled. Skunk/Haze/Citrus just delicious. I wish I took cuts. With 50 beans you're gonna find multiple keepers.

I'm sort of a compulsive strain saver already, so don't you worry! I expect to find some interesting things in that many seeds, especially with that long list of possible parents...
looks real good scrappy!

/QUOTE]

the LA came down early man, same time as the LVPK could pick as early as mid september we let them go until last week right before the storm hit...honestly i mixed up some of my LA and LVPK and the cured product is almost the same, just big kushy nugs that look and smell like bubba. I gave the outdoor LA con clone to my indoor GDP guy, and he did a tray and holy shit it came out pretty nice, real swollen calyxs that are white with frost, looks way better than outdoor version. so lucky i saved a mom might run her again...

i want to buy some alien seeds, hes releasing a ton of new crosses done with his alien kush male...but damn its so hard to get ahold of those they sell for top dollar and quick, hopefully he does a large release SOON so i can pop them by next season...

Hey Prop,
What type of bud/growth structure do you look for in an outdoor girl? Since next season will be my first year and I will be selecting from seeds and select clones what are some of the things us newbies should be looking out for?

Thanks,
215

Sam's OHaze x Sk (the original thing, an old freebie) is one of the hardiest plant i've ever seen. Too bad it takes ages to fully ripen (i've a couple of small plants still out and alive in the cold atm). Using these genetics is a brilliant idea if you can cut some flowering time through breeding or select some earlier phenos.

Peace

k+ good to hear krull! I think this process will take a few seasons, but it seems like a great place to start as far as diverse, hardy, and elite genetics go. I'll also be growing in a greenhouse as well as outdoors, so that should offer protection to the most sativa leaning flowerers.
I'll start a thread in april when I pop the seeds.

im a newb too man only got 2 seasons under my belt....but i like plants like LVPK and LA con, they have nice large stems and produce big colas. i grew out the SFV this year and she has tons and tons of colas but they are all smaller, so it was harder to trim. and the nugs came out kinda fluffy like some sours and kush do. good smoke and everything but the leaf/calyx ratio and the larger numbers of small nugs made harvest harder than it needed to be...

Mr.Howie

Is there any breeders that have a legit LA Confidential? Or is she a clone only..

I know more outdoor heads are out there, lets here it people. Only 5 more months!
Still working on getting the property deal done but looks good. Looking at strains and most likely Good Knight (Blue Knight x Vanilla Kush aka Good Times), The Dime (Lime Kush x Chem D), Fire OG, Sour D, Blue Haze (supposedly yields better than Blue Dream, finishes a touch later, yields better and a notch higher in quality) and a few others I'm tossing around like XJ13 (have heard some great reports on that one outdoors and will sample it soon), NL x Haze, Iron Cindy (Metal Haze x C99), etc. The large outdoor plants will most likely be sativa dominant type stuff. Wish I had a vetted cut of Mango Haze but maybe for 2013. Also gonna look at some Kali Mist for down the road.

Gonna plan for an early black box coming down around June 1 then do the 'regular' planting which will be about 1/2 large plants finishing like mid-late Oct and another black box coming down around Sept 1.

200+ yards of soil already on the property so a good start. 4,000 gallons of water storage too! Off the grid so helpful with a solar powered pump on the well :)

Men make plans and god laughs at them...lol.

If you grow that stuff in a black box I think you'll be happier with the results.

Well, looking at my freshest beans I got to run my Kali Mist from Serious. Also my 3D, DQ, and Qleaner from Sub. 2012 should be fun.
