The trichomes do pretty much get amber when they ripen up…and yes they all mature according to strain…I use an eye loupe to check in in on them…for me I like to see all of the sparkly trichs gone…and the rest should be milky…once the amber starts developing keep an eye on them because they turn quickly…I usually want only a few amber trichs on my plants when I harvest them…at least that’s the plan anyway…kinda like any fruit when ripening you let them go too far past their peak and the quality deterioratesIt might sound crazy but after almost 55 years of growing I never taken a plant into the amber stage. My plants are well developed but I don't see any amber. How long does it take for them to amber and do they vary according to strain. I'm growing hybrids.
Any thoughts on the amber process would be welcome.
