I have had turtle soup made from snapping turtle was good soup tasted like chicken. If I remember correctly.
I used to hunt a lot and eat a lot of meat but I’ve lost my appetite for killing and eating animals. I will fish and I like to eat fish still.
But I mostly eat only chicken and eggs and some dairy products. Lots of fruit, vegetables, and beans.

I bought a can of turtle soup from the grocery store onetime it was disgusting.

Like you I eat less meat...2 days a week no meat and hardly ever eat meat at lunch, don't eat breakfast.

My diet definitely leaves a lot of room for variety…if I wasn’t so desperate for calories. It wouldn’t be beef beef beef all the time it gets repetitive…. probably would be vegetarian if I wasn’t afraid of dwindling away to nothing( And actually knew how to prepare a proper meals)
Lots of recipes on the net and some good videos on cooking. I like the videos for baking, it's nice to see the consistency of the dough and how long they mix for. Both very important in good baking.

I do the cooking and most baking for the 2 of us.

Gathering the food not to mention planning etc.. cooking. Is a big job really if you want to do it right. I’m lucky for many reasons to have my wife! She is such a good cook!

I can’t imagine trying to do everything myself.

Lucky fellow to have a good cook in the home. Sounds like you feel fortunate for more than the cooking.

Cooking and timing, you can't be a good cook without understanding the timing of everything.

This was the main grow room upstairs … I really made a mess in there my goal this morning was just to pry out the staples from all the sheet rock …don’t ever turn your Personal living space into a grow all the money you make you’re gonna have to end up putting back into it clean up the mess View attachment 19111540
if only there were things like hydroponic trays to contain the water and more efficient lighting!

just need to plan ahead and put more time into it. There’s no excuse not to.

i learned to cook in self defense as a child. apparently, my brother and i were such PITAs that mom had to go into the hospital for a "rest" now and then. ( yellow valiums REALLY helped with this problem) if my dad was gonna fix hot dogs, chili, and pork n' beans, he wasn't gonna wash but one pot... when i bitched, dad said "what do you care if it's mixed, it all comes out the same place" to which i replied "does it have to look like that before i eat it though?"

Have you heard about the elephant bird? >>> Elephant birds are extinct flightless birdsbelonging to the order Aepyornithiformesthat were native to the island of Madagascar. They are thought to have become extinct around 1000 AD, likely as a result of human activity. Elephant birds comprised three species, one in the genus Mullerornis, and two in Aepyornis. Aepyornis maximus is possibly the largest bird to have ever lived, with their eggs being the largest known for any amniote. Elephant birds are palaeognaths (whose flightless representatives are often known as ratites), and their closest living relatives are kiwi(found only in New Zealand), suggesting that ratites did not diversify by vicariance during the breakup of Gondwana but instead convergently evolved flightlessness from ancestors that dispersed more recently by flying.

Description

Size of Aepyornis maximus(center, in purple) compared to a human, a common ostrich (Struthio camelus, second from right, in maroon), and several non-avian theropod dinosaurs. Grid spacings are 1.0 m.
Elephant birds were large sized birds (the largest reaching 3 metres (9.8 ft) tall in normal standing posture) that had vestigial wings, long legs and necks, with small heads relative to body size, which bore straight, thick conical beaks that were not hooked. The tops of elephant bird skulls display punctuated marks, which may have been attachment sites for fleshy structures or head feathers.[18]Mullerornis is the smallest of the elephant birds, with a body mass of around 80 kilograms (180 lb),[16] with its skeleton much less robustly built than Aepyornis.[19] A. hildebrandti is thought to have had a body mass of around 230–285 kilograms (507–628 lb).[16] Estimates of the body mass of Aepyornis maximus span from around 275 kilograms (606 lb)[20] to 700–1,000 kilograms (1,500–2,200 lb)[16] making it one of the largest birds ever, alongside Dromornis stirtoni and Pachystruthio dmanisensis.[21][22] Females of A. maximusare suggested to have been larger than the males, as is observed in other ratites.

Anyone who is considering doing fresh frozen don’t do it unless you have a back up generator because if the power goes out and that shit thaws out it goes bad ..it can’t Thaw and then refreeze. I found that out through the grapevine someone lost their entire crop of ff For just this very reason over the last couple days he lost power… I’m glad I let mine dry and didn’t do fresh frozen. It’s a lot more work yes even more work more volume that you have to deal with when you’re washing.
How Long did. you dry it? Because your hash and Rosin do have a very nice color!
